  1. We can't get into the playoffs now. Mowbray has failed his season's target. Get rid of now. Will Venkys act now or not? There's nothing we've seen from them during their tenure to suggest they will.
  2. He had a couple of wins, which seemed to starve off the threat of the sack. Then nothing (1 pt) That looked to have sealed his fate.
  3. You're using a different selection of stats. I was looking at the situation since the vultures circled. You are, I think, correct in saying Preston have a weaker squad. By all objective criteria Mowbray ought not still have a job.
  4. Preston have 1 point from their last 15 available; Mowbray has 6. Vultures have been circling around Neil for some time. Mowbray's better at 'digging out' results and 'managing expectations'. I think Mowbray has now been found out.
  5. Guy covering Norwich v Blackburn Rovers on Soccer Saturday said the players late in second half would set Mowbray in good stead for next season. 7 of said players are either loans or out of contract. Get Mowbray out of here to give a new management team time to assess what we've got here. Summer's too late, players we want to keep will have gone elsewhere.
  6. @Ben Frost Yes I do know that. I was waiting to see who would crawl out of the woodwork and call me on it. @Mike E I'll keep this simple for you. All he's said to me is that he believes CAT 1 Academy status will be maintained. Even easier for you; I oppose the sale of the land on which the STC is built. I believe to do otherwise is to betray the legacy of Jack Walker.
  7. To reply in kind: prehistoricrogerwrong (of no known gender) First, you say you're done with commenting and then you comment. Then you say you don't have to justify your opinion. Then you attempt to. Finally, you demand I justify my opinion, which you describe as a rabid suggestion. Hyperbole in self-defence is a well-known plant action. Excuse me a moment whilst I work out what kind of plant you are. Ah, I have it. You're a Venus Fly Trap. Fortunately, I am not a fly. Losing the Academy CAT A status is not an opinion. It is a matter of fact. I mentioned the facilities, not size. Were Freud around he'd probably ask you about your obsession with size. If the facilities that were used in the assessment are demolished that is an automatic loss of Academy status. There would for example be no classroom for the academy players to be taught in. The reduction in the number of coaches would reduce the number of hours they would be taught or other teams would go without coaching. Support for an academy or not does not depend on watching Blackburn Rovers play. You claim intent is sufficient. It is not. You claim we should support the residents of Brockhall village. They have 170 more houses to object to on an already overloaded infrastructure. We have the loss of the STC and the Academy to fight. I note that you don't mention the Rovers trust in your response. In your nearly 19000 posts selling the STC has never come up. Your previous posts are of no-consequence. No forthe question you haven't answered. Do you support the sale of the STC? Yes or No?
  8. JRC started as a rb in the U23s. Johnson moved him to the wide right of the 4 in a 3421.
  9. Wasn't Armstrong supposed to be out for another week, according to Mowbray? Holtby is still here? JRC playing? Another one out injured, supposedly. Bennett on the bench. That's a middle finger to the fans. Johnson gets a game. Mowbray's gone for the shock and awe tactics. Bristol City will never have seen this starting XI coming and will be awed by its possession dominance.
  10. You ought to have left defending yourself to others. They're doing a better job. Your reputation ain't worth a damn. You said that Waggott should be fought on a platform with a wider audience. Where's that? Nowhere. Doesn't exist. You are giving Waggott a free run, just as he's had on all the other objectionable things he's done at this club and elsewhere. A forthcoming fight - that's what plants say. Divert and delay and prevent effective opposition. The role of a plant. You are displaying a clear lack of love for all things Blackburn Rovers over this. Demolish the facilities that give us CAT A and we lose that status in an instant and our place in the PL2 top division vanishes overnight. The Academy would go soon after. You clearly don't value the Academy, Cat A status or Jack Walker's legacy.
  11. He's giving Waggott a free run on this issue and there's no way that should be happening.
  12. I've certainly not been around since 1864. I judge him on his posts, not on the length of time he's been posting and being defended by the likes of oldjamfan1 or you is no proof he isn't.
  13. I wonder if Mercer has a triple header on Bristol City to win 3 games away from home all 3-0. It's our only hope!
  14. If you're really thinking about selling Nyambe and letting JRC go, you need to see what you've got to work with in Pike. Thompson should get the opportunity to prove if he's get the skill to justify a contract based on Mowbray's reason for dropping Raya and his left back signings have been duds. Douglas' form has not been a patch on his previous. I'd play Dolan behind Gallagher and Armstrong and give him license to roam. That means Rothwell in central midfield.
  15. Thus speaks the club plant! This is the fight to pick with Waggott. He's form for this at previous clubs (plural) and they're suffering because of him.
  16. I'd missed off the signings of Lieutwiler, Smallwood, Samuel, Hart and Gladwin. Nuttall was signed for the U23s. Mowbray claimed the fans forced him to play Nuttall - thought his U23 form forced that. He did, destroyed his confidence. Then played him again and was dropped and sold. I'd not included McBride and Hilton for the same reason - signed for the U23s. I don't include the 9 (I really wish IO could forget Walton) only signed as loans, 2 of whom were out with long term injuries. Injuries are feature of a lot of his other signings. Mowbray claimed fan pressure forced him to play Chapman. If Mowbray listened to fans he would not persist playing Gallagher wide right. I'd have quite liked the idea of Chapman and Dolan playing together as real wingers. If Mowbray's going to play 4231, why wouldn't McBride play as the 1? Then you'd play Nyambe alongside Lenihan and blood Pike at RB and Thompson, to see if he's worth a contract at LB. The only two standout stars are Armstrong and Dack. The only out-and-out-duds I'd label Bell and Hart. Bell only because he wasn't and isn't what we need. All the signings are down to Mowbray. I don't believe anybody else is forcing players on Mowbray
  17. It certainly is. If they don't do the business now, we'll know for sure that we need at least one new proven striker, next season.
  18. But no Acts would work properly with Mowbray running it. You know he would ask questions as to why our fine dressage horse can't do his act on the high wire. Waggott charging an extra three pounds on the day would have no one watching, anyway.
  19. I want to see what a front two of that duo does over the last ten games of this season.
  20. It's more nuanced than that. It's players that are expected to have a resale value are under contract. I don't regard either Gallagher or Ayala as being liabilities. Gallagher has been played out of position and Ayala injured before he came and injured now, allegedly. Offer players in desperation and you won't get anyone to take them up - because you're desperate.
  21. How much are these specialists like Peacocks costing the club? Are they operating on a no planning application approval/sale, no fee? It seems a terribly unnecessary expense for an allegedly cash strapped club.
  22. I'm a firm believer in having a player under contract, so that the club receives a transfer fee, if the player leaves. I'd make an exception for Bennett. it's also hard to know exactly what we've got, when players are played out of position so much and when there's no apparent style or formation. Mowbray dislikes 4231 and insists on playing 433, despite 4231 fitting more of the squad. I've reached the same deeply suspicious stage of injuries under Mowbray as I did under Coyle.
  23. Could well be, Birmingham looked to have secured their man, before binning Karanka. It seemed to me that Bournemouth's lined up man bailed leading to Woodgate as a stopgap to the end of the season. Both Wycombe and Sheff Wed made Norwich work for the win. I can't see us doing that with Mowbray still here. I can't see us getting anything against Pearson's Bristol City, one of the men I'd have had in the frame to replace Mowbray.
  24. It seems prudent to ensure that plans to redevelop the site ensure that Cat 1/A is maintained. Any chance you could post the minutes of the fans forum meeting on the fans forum thread on this blog. Been on the thread and seen the minutes have been linked. Thanks to @Herbie6590 for that.
  25. @darrenrover If I might make a suggestion and it's only directed at you since you appear to have done the most digging, perhaps you and other interested (qualified) people got together and formed an action committee, set up a website/blog/social media to oppose the club's plans. The old slogan: find it; prove it, print it. Possibly link up with the local Brockhall Village protest group, assuming there is one. That would ensure there are no legal issues, potentially, for this forum. I'm assuming your posts were removed for that reason.
