  1. 23 points over a season will get you relegated, so no, it's not 'bigging' it up. It is relegation form because we're not going to get the points to reach that 50+ points and safety.
  2. It didn't take long for the death spiral to restart, did it? So much for Mowbray's assertion that a team can go from losing matches all one month and then win 4 or 5 on the bounce. Exposed as more bs. 5 points from 30 is relegation form. The odd win or draw does not change that. There's no objective reason for the Mowbrayites to see any sign of success, any positives or get happy. Lose another match and the mathematical possibility of the playoffs disappears. Realistically a managerial change has to happen before our next game or we're all aboard the Mowbray relegation express special. Think we're safe with 44 points? Hull thought they were safe last season with 45. Remember how we were too good to go down from the Premiership in the late 90s and got relegated. Now, really is the last chance to change manager.
  3. Get real, yourself. It's not a suggestion. If there are no facilities available to be used at the JTC for 2 years, where do all our teams train? If it's at Ewood, that's £2m a year to re-lay the pitch Where does the Academy go? Where can it go? There is nowhere. It's gone. Burnley will welcome those scholars with open arms. It's a massive own goal. We'll not get them back or keep Cat A Academy status. Interim planning? From Mowbray and Waggott? Apparently, apart from a rectangle where the proposed new TC is, the redevelopment of the JTC is a complete mystery.
  4. @1864roverite Whilst the JTC site is being redeveloped under the plan ie knocked down and then a new facility built, there will be no Academy. There will be no facilities. There will be insufficient pitches for the number of teams we have and safeguarding issues. Had there been enough space at the JTC for what Jack wanted to do, he wouldn't have acquired the STC. All the money raised by the sale of the STC will go directly to India. None of it will stay in this country. There are no Premier League or Brexit factors pushing anything. That's more club bs. The costs of running the centres do not come under FFP. This is not a move pushed for by Venkys. We've also got the Ladies Centre of Excellence, too, that needs to be factored in. This proposal adversely affects our Ladies team, whose development Madam Desai has pushed since Venkys took over.
  5. Those Mowbrayites don't seem to realise that 4 points from 24 is relegation form. Wins in any of the next four games would have Mowbray equated to Dalglish. Oh, Dan Clough has already done that. Win all 4 and Mowbray will be nominated for sainthood. 18 points out of 36 is mid table mediocrity. I checked the final game for Middlesborough in the 2012/13 season. It was a 2-0 defeat to Sheff Wed. Mowbray's team did concede 70 goals in the season. Prescient Mowbray. The death spiral was 3 wins, 3 draws and 15 defeats with wins and draws strategically placed. Middlesborough finished in 16th, one place and one point above us. Now the question for me, is how an Mowbray send a team out to win or draw for him, whenever he needs to? If he has that ability, why doesn't he use it every game? We saw it here this season in the games before the first international break. So is it out of spite or contempt for the owners/fans that he takes his teams on death spirals?
  6. @Hoochie Bloochie MamaTrying to second guess Mowbray will make you mental. The man's all about confusing the opposition and stopping them from playing (not that that isn't a good thing) rather than playing a style of our own consistently. The team that played against Millwall only played like they hadn't played together before for 10-15 minutes, which means somebody sneaked a few minutes of training them together pre-match. I can seethe post match interview after a defeat. 'The fans forced me to play Nyambe, which is why we lost. Why Nyambe didn't cover THB for their first goal, I can't explain. He left a player unmarked on the left post for their second. He gave the ball away on the halfway line for their third. He failed to cross the ball in, when we could have scored. We gave it our all, out there.'
  7. Mowbray's probably told the team to pass it to Armstrong 'who'll shot and score', despite the reality that a teammate may just have a tap in, if he passes.
  8. Supplying drizzle cake to the players is 'essential'.
  9. Who has Mowbray signed permanently? Kaminski, Pears, Stergiakis Ayala, Bell, Pickering Davenport(originally for U23s), Holtby, Johnson, Downing, Rothwell, Dack, Chapman, Dolan Armstrong, Gallagher, Brereton 17 players - not a full squad. Mowbray does not build a side. Pickering hasn't played for us yet. Those in bold are worth the shirt. Those not, either get injured too much or have been played out of position, goalkeepers excluded. Downing gets picked in midfield and then the defence boots the ball upfield, bypassing him. We'll lose Armstrong to transfer this summer. A foreign manager, ie not English. Ismael has been a revelation at Barnsley since he came in, as manager. I wish Venkys would make the change now and bring in a manager and team to review the squad and work on contracts. Two weeks into the transfer season, which when Venkys usually do their quizzing is just wasting too much time.
  10. I don't know, which doesn't matter nor does Mowbray, which does.
  11. The standard win interrupting a Mowbray death spiral to keep his job. No-one is expecting anything from the next 4 games anyway. It would be different were we expecting a top 6 finish. Of course, now we have to win every match to stand a chance of getting there. That is not seen as 'realistic'. As an inveterate gloom purveyor, I hold fast to the view that we will not be promoted back to the Premier League under Mowbray. You know, via the playoffs, the minimum target for Mowbray this season.
  12. I thought the team selected was dreadful. I didn't see a win. We have won. I should have known better. I appreciate the win. Even Hull had a win on their way to relegation.
  13. Dack should be behind Brereton looking to pickup the knockdowns. Dack's wasted in a 433
  14. That's Armstrong off then. Elliot's probably asked Liverpool to recall him. Nyambe dropped again, for no reason. Agreed Stuart, a dreadful team. I don't see a win here.
  15. I feel a long post coming on. If this is in any way soporific, it will reflect the level of our team's performance that sends Mowbray to sleep in the dugout. One could see Mowbray as a Walter Mitty type figure. I think our situation is more akin to Zimbabwe under Mugabe or India under its last Congress party government. Dan Clough's article starts by equating Mowbray with Dalglish. Include two name in the same sentence and you are intenidng people for that idea. Dan then says , it's not the idea at all, cementing it firmly in the mind of his readers as that's exactly what he is doing. I was certain Dalglish would secure promotion. That's why he was brought in. I was certain that Coyle would be potted when it was 'just too late' to keep us in the Championship. Mowbray brought in to keep us up. He failed. I was certain he would. The League 1 campaign began with 4 defeats in 11. Mowbray didn't bring harmony. There was incredulity that another manager who had secured relegation was rewarded with an improved contract. Mowbray admits he lucked into a team, formation and style. Mowbray said the team picked itself. Mowbray let the senior players get on with it. Mowbray has said the team played a style he did not want. The Oxford game ticket was put on sale before the Charlton game. I was convinced we'd nothing from that game. The team played how Mowbray told them. The 27000 expected to see us clinch the League One title. They'd been sold a false prospectus. 15000 fans were permanently alienated from attending whilst Mowbray and Waggott remained in charge. That's dividing fans not bringing unity. Mowbray's stated on numerous occasions that he doesn't do styles, formations or have footballing philosophy. It's no wonder his players don't have a clue what he wants. His death spirals aren't limited to Blackburn Rovers. Mowbray's invented the 'dominating the football' as his 'philosophy, yet has yet to explain what that means, In 2013 before Middlesborough's last game of the season against Sheffield Wednesday an article appeared that dealt with the reason behind the team's fall from 2nd at Christmas to 12th as conceding 68 gaols. Mowbray said a team couldn't concede 70 goals and expect to be successful. How can a manager not know exactly how many goals his team has conceded? There's also the idea Mowbray is projecting that a team conceding that many is not his fault. Mowbray then went on to say that he hoped to say 'yes' to get somebody in. Mowbray's got that arse about face. It's the player who says yes to the offer on the table, not Mowbray. Mowbray signed 21 players at Middlesborough. Not enough for a full squad. Mowbray does not build teams. At Coventry City, it took a final game win to save them from relegation, after being top at Christmas. Mowbray left Coventry in a total mess. I can see that happening here. By all objective metrics, Mowbray has failed as a manager here. He has mismanaged Blackburn Rovers. @booth has alluded to how, in his post above. Lambert did not mismanage Blackburn Rovers. I'd rather a new manager came in with the playoffs still mathematically possible.
  16. How much does the club currently owe the State Bank of India? How much does the club currently owe its trade creditors? How much does the club have outstanding currently on other loans, how much is due in interest and when is the principal due for repayment? My thre'penny bit.
  17. Mowbray thinks he's won this round of chicken. Who is this unnamed football representative of Venkys?
  18. Armstrong "injured". We've transferred him and his new club doesn't want him to play again this season for fear of injury.
  19. I don't much care for 4-3-3, but here's my team (guarantee it won't be Mowbray's) Kaminski Pike Nyambe Lenihan Thompson Trybull Rothwell (c) Downing Elliot Brereton Armstrong
  20. I'm fine, though I think you missed the sarcasm. No, you have said you'd keep Mowbray to the end of the season. You think, we've got enough points. If Mowbray is not sacked now, we're relegated. Mowbray came in with 15 games to save us, he failed. Remember. When Johnson was appointed to coach of the U23s, I was sceptical. He did a good job. Perhaps you underestimate the difficulty posed by a senior player coming in to play in a different style to the then seniors. Johnson did so. You, lost for words? Never. You are being ignorant. Johnson knows the players and what he's got to work with. He's not an outsider coming in. Johnson is not a gamble. The U23s play the system Mowbray wants the seniors to play and do it better. We do have some coaches at the club, who can coach. Right now, we have a squad that has no belief in itself or in their manager. They've no fight in them, either. Change must be made.
  21. Johnson knows how to set up a team. That puts him one up on Mowbray. Johnson knows how to get the team to play a system. That puts him two up. He's there, if an appointment cannot be made immediately. Guarantees? I didn't say it did.
