  1. Yeah hopefully BDS, always a worry though. Reading between the lines of that article, I wonder if he's looking to bring Pickering back in, but also keep Giles in the side, hence the mention of changing formation? I'm not aware of Pickering playing for the U23s, so his match fitness must be questionable.
  2. It's one thing confusing the opposition pre-match. It's another thing to bring confusion onto the pitch, which we all know has happened before.
  3. Mogga is contemplating going back to 4 at the back. https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/19915753.blackburn-rovers-tony-mowbray-weighs-formation-change/ Just keep it simple and changes to a minimum, please Tony. Stick to what works.
  4. Are Buckley and Rothwell capable of stepping up? Arguably, if they were, after 31 games they would have done so already.
  5. I see Mowbray is bemoaning the side 'missing great chances' in his post match interview. Let's see what he does - if anything - about it for WBA.
  6. Well you obviously get your kicks from it, judging by the amout of posts you've made on the subject!
  7. Whether it's 'naive' or 'fantasy land stuff' so what? It's generating conversation, which is whole the point of a message board I'd suggest.
  8. Whether under Venkys it's plausible or not, doesn't mean that people can't offer an opinion on the subject.
  9. To be clear, I don't think we should be sacking him right now. He deserves a shot for the remainder of the season. 'Naivety' though, is thinking Mowbray is suddenly a different manager than the one he's been over the past 5 seasons. He is what he is.
  10. WBA didn't think it was ridiculous to pot their manager whilst in the play offs. They saw the writing on the wall and did something about it. Their fans were also up in arms over the last guy and his style of football. Whether Bruce is an improvement we'll see, but I suspect that they'll finish the season stronger as a result.
  11. It wasn't ridiculous for WBA.
  12. I'm that I saw 'March Early Bird' adverts when watching the Burnley game on Tuesday, presumably for season tickets. If so, that's both them and Bolton stealing a march on us.
  13. I've thought on similar lines. Ayalya will likely add stability and organisation to the back 3. We've certainly missed Pickering. Dropping Nyambe was unfathomable. As for Buckley, I'm not sure what his natural position actually is. He's not got the scoring instinct needed as a forward player, he was poor as a wing/full back, and I think he's too weak to sit in the centre. So where does that leave him? As good as he is on the eye at times with his passing, I currently don't see him stepping up.
  14. Laziness, ineptitude, capability, or any other suitable adjective that describes the total loss of any commercial accumen. Take your pick.
  15. Because he's not a winner. Compare to that lad who put their penalty away. He just drilled it in, no messing about.
  16. Buckley's miss set the tone for the second consecutive game. He chickened out of that shot, just jabbed at it. He'll never be any more than he is; he just doesn't have the conviction. He needs dropping.
  17. The first home game of the season I'll miss, all thanks to Covid. If he doesn't tinker and the players turn up, 2-0 Rovers. COYB
  18. Perhaps it'll be £20 in all sections, who knows? It's a poor do though when the visiting team are advertising tickets before we are. Interestingly, the adult price for the (cancelled) Chorley game last night was £15. That's for a game several leagues below us, so arguably £20 is a bargain...

  20. You're lucky to get a beer in the JW, the service in the bars is attrocious! I think the library effect in the JW is in a large part down to it being the area of choice for the casual spectator. I often have people sat next to me who I've never seen before, some of whom seem to be neutrals and don't appear to be supporting either team.
  21. Burnley have a fighting chance if they play like they did in the second half. I wouldn't write them off yet,
  22. Your mention of sticking Ayala up front was the same thought I had. In lieu of other options, we could have stuck him up front for 20 minutes to try and get on the end of one of Giles' crosses - it couldn't have made things any worse and was worth a shot to nick a goal. On Buckley, he's such a good player to watch at times. The lad can't shoot with any conviction though, what my Dad used to call 'powder puff'. If we ended up in a penalty shoot out and he was up for taking one, I'd have no confidence in him. Someone playing in that 'false 9' role needs to be able to score a few & he just doesn't have that ability. There's still all to play for though.
