  1. Mowbray is just not a good enough manager. It's as simple as that for me.
  2. I thought it was just me thinking that. I said to may daughter, just prior to the first goal, that Rothwell had hardly touched the ball. How he got MOM I'll never know. Perhaps that says more about the rest of the team. Also, I see people giving Edun plaudits. He looked lackadaisical at times to me, giving the ball away with uncommitted passing a la Bell.
  3. I keep saying this, but he can't win football matches with any consistency at all. It's just not in him, he's not capable. His substitutions and in-game awareness were atrocious yet again today.
  4. Buckley/Dolan/Poveda is my bet, with Johnson replacing Buckley in midfield.
  5. I think it's a bit of a stretch to overly credit the Chilean coaches. Brereton has been with them for what, 4 weeks or so in total? If we're crediting them, then we have to credit Mowbray et al more so.
  6. I'm with you here @rigger, he's getting over hyped based on a handful of games. The bubble may burst as soon as it inflated. Hopefully it doesn't burst though, for Rovers sake. I don't give two hoots what he does for Chile.
  7. If he did that at Ewood tomorrow, we'd be in raptures. Poor goalkeeping, mind you.
  8. Sorry, but that's all ifs, buts and maybes. Anyway, it's best to agree to disagree!
  9. We didn't sign him for £6m last year though, that's totally irrelvant. We did sign him for 7 million 4 years ago- which was a lot of money at the time - and for 3+ of those he's been attrocious. That's fact. His stats over 4 years show that he's a 5 goal a season man. That's fact.
  10. You're happy to label the signing as 'working out', based on a dozen or so improved performances, despite him costing £7m (that's 7 MILLION), and being absolutely attrocious for 3 years. I call that a bad deal.
  11. I'll ask the question again, this time with a caveat, How has this deal worked out - as it currently stands - with no ifs and maybes - for Blackburn Rovers?
  12. How has it paid off? We might sell him for a few million profit. that's it. Looking at it holistically, the team is no better off as a result of this 'project'. We're still the same mid table plodders we were 4 years ago. I'd argue that the money should have been spent on a number of players who could have improved the team in more than one area.
  13. I made the mistake of reading the comments. Wow.
  14. Spending £7m on 'projects' is a massive gamble thiough. Brereton could quite easily regress or get injured a la Dack. In our financial situation, I'd rather that we spent the money across the board on proven players who can make an instant difference.
  15. It takes at least 2 goals for us to win a game. We're hardly good at keeping clean sheets!
  16. I genuinely don't see why you think he was good at Blackpool. I was there. The whole team was awful and as bad as each other.
  17. Without Brereton, just exactly where are these goals going to come from? Who is going to surprise us and step up? Brereton has scored something like 8 out of our last 10 goals.
  18. One good cross does not maketh a winger, @chaddyrovers
  19. 0-0 would be a decent result in the circumstances. I'm going for 0-1
  20. That's like saying the Rovers couldn't have attracted Dalglish. If the potential and ambition is there, and more importantly the money is right, they'll be able to attract pretty much anyone.
  21. If wouldn't surprise me if Pep II starts Johnson - so a midfield trio of Johnson/Travis/Rothwell - and plays Buckley as the player furthest forward, with Dolan & Khadra either side. Such is the way his mind works.
  22. Our best hope is to keep a clean sheet. Without Brereton in the form he's in, there's not many goals in our team.
  23. There's a reason why Chile are hauling an English second division player half way round the world. My guess is that it's because they aren't very good.
  24. For a club like ours, in the financial position we're in, to spend 7m on a 'project' is ludicrous. For that amount of money we should expect the real deal from day one, not after a dozen decent games 3 years down the line.
