Summer transfer window 2021.

If he's any good, I would imagine that he'll be looking for a better move than to a bottom half Championship club. -
Really?

v QPR (a) - 19/10/21

Playing 3 at the back perhaps wasn't the reason for the goals, but once again he needlessly messed around with the defence, in both personel and formation. Van Hecke clearly wasn't fit, but Mowbray still felt the need to shoehorn him into the side, pushing Lenihan out left. Only one defender started yesterdays game in the same position as Blackpool. Why didn't he just stick with Nyambe/Lenihan/Ayala and put Edun is as a straight swap for Pickering? We started the season pretty solidly in defence with 4 at the back. -

So in the 12 league games thus far, he's started with at least 3 formations. How does he expect to find a settled way of playing with that approach? He tries to be clever for the sake of it. -

Why? He changes the side/formation/tactics at the drop of a hat. It's little wonder that he can't get results with any consistency. -

2-1 QPR They'll have too much about them. Who knows what side/formation Mogga will go with. No doubt it will be some esoteric concoction that only he understands. -
If true, I'd suggest there's better ways to spend 85k.

I'm not sure what his position is. Too weak to play central Too slow to play in a wide position. No ability to score from a forward position. -
How do you know that is factually correct?

Why not get rid of him now and give a new guy the remainder of the season to assess what is needed? Waiting any longer just delays things. -

True, but otherwise he did't do a great deal. As I said though, probably says as much about the rest of the team a sit does him. -

Mowbray is just not a good enough manager. It's as simple as that for me. -

I thought it was just me thinking that. I said to may daughter, just prior to the first goal, that Rothwell had hardly touched the ball. How he got MOM I'll never know. Perhaps that says more about the rest of the team. Also, I see people giving Edun plaudits. He looked lackadaisical at times to me, giving the ball away with uncommitted passing a la Bell. -
I keep saying this, but he can't win football matches with any consistency at all. It's just not in him, he's not capable. His substitutions and in-game awareness were atrocious yet again today.

Buckley/Dolan/Poveda is my bet, with Johnson replacing Buckley in midfield. -
I think it's a bit of a stretch to overly credit the Chilean coaches. Brereton has been with them for what, 4 weeks or so in total? If we're crediting them, then we have to credit Mowbray et al more so.
-
I'm with you here @rigger, he's getting over hyped based on a handful of games. The bubble may burst as soon as it inflated. Hopefully it doesn't burst though, for Rovers sake. I don't give two hoots what he does for Chile.
-
If he did that at Ewood tomorrow, we'd be in raptures. Poor goalkeeping, mind you.
-
Exactly this.
-
Sorry, but that's all ifs, buts and maybes. Anyway, it's best to agree to disagree!
-
We didn't sign him for £6m last year though, that's totally irrelvant. We did sign him for 7 million 4 years ago- which was a lot of money at the time - and for 3+ of those he's been attrocious. That's fact. His stats over 4 years show that he's a 5 goal a season man. That's fact.
-
You're happy to label the signing as 'working out', based on a dozen or so improved performances, despite him costing £7m (that's 7 MILLION), and being absolutely attrocious for 3 years. I call that a bad deal.
-
I'll ask the question again, this time with a caveat, How has this deal worked out - as it currently stands - with no ifs and maybes - for Blackburn Rovers?
-
How has it paid off? We might sell him for a few million profit. that's it. Looking at it holistically, the team is no better off as a result of this 'project'. We're still the same mid table plodders we were 4 years ago. I'd argue that the money should have been spent on a number of players who could have improved the team in more than one area.

I made the mistake of reading the comments. Wow.
