  1. A good manager would counter the loss of key players through training, solid formations and tactics, where every player, including the subs, knows their role. Mowbray just chucks on a random assortment and hopes for the best.
  2. Backs to the wall so he brings on a trio of lightweights. Mowbray will never change.
  3. Buckley will always have a mistake like that in him due to his lack of physicality. His mistake aside though, we could easily have been a couple down beforehand.
  4. I don't know 1864 from Adam, but I'm pretty sure that he isn't on a wind up mission at all. I'm nothing special or 'in the know', but I was one of those who was asked for input prior to his discussions with the club taking place; my gut feel tells me that 1864 is genuine, and I applaud him for getting off his arse and making the conversation happen. In hindsight, perhaps he shouldn't have said anything on here and kept schtum, seeing as it bothers people. He's doing the right thing, however, by keeping in confidence what was said to him. As always though, Venkys are Venkys, so let's see what arises. And before anyone asks, no, I don't know anything!
  5. Another missed opportunity. Coventry will probably bring a good couple of thousand plus. We could have got 15k on for this if sensible pricing was in place.
  6. We're bound to lose sooner or later, tonight could be the one. I'd be happy with a draw, with confidence then still intact for the seaside. 2-1 Huddersfield If I can get off work early enough, I'll try and get over there. Otherwise, RoversTV it is. COYB
  7. Walking off the ground, I said to my daughter that games like that are what makes us follow the Rovers. Every now and then, they pull one out of the bag. No doubt it will regress soon enough, Mowbray won't be able to help himself, and Waggott is .... well Waggot. But for now, and until Huddersfield at least, I've got a Rovers smile on my face. COYB
  8. Dolan, Rothwell and Brereton in particular have some ability to take the ball, run at the opposition and get in behind them. This should be our main tactic, as seen by the Dolan/Brereton combo for the second goal yesterday.
  9. Now is the time for Waggott to pull his bloody finger out and do something positive to entice more fans on to Ewood. Such a shame that so few witnessed that display today.
  10. Ayala makes such a massive difference, steady as a rock that guy. Special mention to Pickering today also; he was excellent.
  11. We're even falling behind this lot... https://www.pnefc.net/news/2021/september/be-loud-be-proud-three-for-two-at-deepdale/?fbclid=IwAR35KNt6zQRcU659RmMP6d6UAtLT2oOx1wZQ480hEItDWaRavNh1dnSIbpE
  12. Barnes is out until November.
  13. I'm looking forward to the game tomorrow, it will be our hardest test of the season so far bar WBA. Please Mowbray, for once, don't dick around with the line up. 1-1
  14. Betting on Burnley to win is like betting on the Rovers to lose. For me, that's a step too far 🙂
  15. That's the sort of thing that costs just a little thought, effort and a few pennies. We have none of that.
  16. Another way of interpreting Waggott's interview re: contracts is that he's doing an 'under promise, over deliver' act. ie. make it out like it's difficult to get players to sign, then when they do, act the hero.
  17. Typo? Chaddy may mean 'betting'.
  18. They can find money easily enough to spend/waste on pointless loanees and contract extensions for Mulgrew et al. But it's supposedly a problem to stretch contract offers to ensure we retain our best talent. Farce.
  19. I agree with you on Dolan. He lacks quality at times, but never gives the opposition defence a moments peace.
  20. Wasn't it Grimes who repeatedly kept pinging balls out to their left side whilst we were backs to the wall for the second half?
  21. Living in Wheelton, I see all sorts of affiliations.....Rovers, North End, Bolton, City....there's even a dingle in the village. So there's plenty of competition.
  22. First away game of the season at the seaside for the two of us. Got tickets online just now, no problem.
  23. I'd suggest that with Mowbray still in situ despite months of abject performances, a large chunk of our remaining fan base are now simply apathetic to it all. ie we turn up as we do to watch and cheer on the team, are pleasantly suprised at the start we've had, but fully expect normal service to be resumed before too long.
  24. It's a saying, @chaddyrovers “You can fool some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time, but you can not fool all of the people all of the time.” In other words, the fact that Mowbray has get us off to a semi-decent start, may fool some people into thinking things will change for the better. But it doesn't fool us all.
