  1. Yep they should've gone for him when he said he was interested and that is following the ethos set down by Jack then John Wiliams. Blackburn Rovers needs a big name manager for several reasons, profile, crowds, media image, connections, lure of better players to a northern backwater etc. That's why they followed Souness with Hughes and him with Ince who ok that didn't work but they nipped it in the bud quick and got another in Allardyce. They cost money but there is way more chance of them delivering and success goes someway to paying for itself. Repeated failure costs more and more in the long run as these lot have found out. Lessons learned ? Not a chance but we've clearly seen why they really opted for Ismael because here it's all about what happens off the pitch and toeing that line.
  2. I moaned repeatedly through his time here we needed a big striker in the squad to throw on and cause problems when we needed a goal. We were on the wrong end of it numerous times under him but he had a serious aversion to even having someone in the squad like that. Yet our best times under him were when we had Danny Graham. He rarely even played Gallagher as an out and out centre forward.
  3. And that is how many times now that has happened and we've conceded late ? His game management is diabolical it's purely based on saving some legs and stretching some others.
  4. TM is a season long man his methods reflect that, the long plod not the short bright spark manager bounce. If he were to come it needs to be right now before the Sheff Weds game not the end of Feb.
  5. So did Eustace because these guys firstly look at solidifying the defence and take if from there. Also a lot of our rare success even under Ismael came earlier away from home on the counter it's nonsense to suggest we can't play like that. Of course it won't be pretty who gives a toss we need results and clean sheets and there is enough defenders to pick from. The high press i'm afrain needs ditching it isn't working its cost numerous games due to fatigue on 70 mins and a raft of subs because of it.
  6. Because he was very well thought of by the previous squad that was broken up and sold off/chased out. He doesn't know this lot and they don't know him.
  7. Rowett for starters, winning the league at that level is no qualification for a job like this at this point in time. If we had a solid squad sat going nowhere in midtable it might be different as would a summer appointment with time to mould a squad but not now. Trouble is there is zero football brains in the club now at director level not even a Waggot so in blind panic they'll probably turn to Mowbray with a long term contract. And that will give us more of a fighting chance of staying up or coming straight back than a complete punt. JDT won a far superior league to that twice yet still struggled with the nature of this league. Horses for courses needed.
  8. 200 grand and he gets a better contract than if they are shelling out a million or so.
  9. Why are people saying daft things like Damien Duff etc ? What credentials does he have to save a championship club in freefall ? Naff all except he played here over 2 decades ago then turned into a little turd when he left, honestly i'd drive Mowbray here before i'd be daft enough to give it to Duff or someone like that. The proof is in the pudding it needs a Eustace or near as damn it.
  10. We'll take our chances as we are thanks. Although there are elements stupid enough in this fanbase to snatch your hand off at that. This lot should never give anymore anything more than 18 months with a year rolling option.
  11. That's another massive potential loss of income in league 1 as not many will be pitching up with thousands of fans and dozens of coaches to fleece.
  12. I'd prefer him to replace Gestede then appoint someone under him who has an idea of what they are doing.
  13. At this stage in his life and career why would he want the hassle plus he'd probably want a fortune to make it worth his while. Remember this is the guy who before he was unfortunately ill constantly moaned about being 2 hrs away from home..... before a year or two later pitching up at Brum then West Bromwich. Like Ismael he couldn't do anything at WBA despite a better squad than we have here. There are many questions but this time around Tony Mowbray isn't the answer i don't think. Rowett for me.
  14. Lazy journalism it's the easiest thing in the world to chuck Mowbrays name in there.
  15. In their mind once he gets that first elusive win in 15 it'll reset the bar and he's ok for another 15. The incompetence levels are staggering but entirely predictable and i think the arse covering is the main issue. These lot are employed as cost cutters and money gatherers from wheeling and dealing players. So to go to their bosses and say we need x amount to fight this Macron lot and possibly several hundred grand for the find. Also we'd like a million or two to remove the head coach and staff and replace them..... Not happening is it they'll just bury their heads then phone them when they've agreed another big outgoing transfer fee. That's how it works here so i'd suggest the only chance of change is if Ismael walks or one the Pune lot takes notice and insists on the axe dropping.
  16. Said this a while ago the team is set up to carry Cantwell and it hasn't worked for ages he's a luxury player not a cog in a well drilled system.
  17. He simply has to go now but he's just one part of a quartet that've infested control of the club, running it for their own agenda. He's all part of the bigger down grading, cost cutting player commission trading plan and won't be paid off anytime soon even though he'd probably jump at the chance. Best thing they can do from the inevitable sale of RA is pay this guy off and get in a firefight asap till summer. They won't though because no one gives a fuck they'll just amble on to relegation just like last time. Then expect to chuck 2 million quid in the pot and get promoted again first time, utter lunatics and they better wise up because if they think that boycott was nothing just wait until next seasons crowds and then they'll realise it's no joke.
  18. Totally predictable. Plenty effort but little idea on the pitch or technical area. De Neve on again, late goal conceded again it's as predictable as Christmas being December 25th, whether he was responsible or not. If only possession stats won you games instead of clean sheets and goals we'd be...... about 3 points better off.
  19. They just aren't suitable for where we are but sad facts one is here because his record is terrible so he's a cheap puppet and part of the overall downgrading plan. Whilst the other will be off first chance he gets he just hasn't played well enough here to attract serious interest.
  20. Too much smoke around this Alebiosu for there not to be a bonfire by the end of the window. He's a goner for sure they are just trying to get the best price due to the several alleged clubs after him.
  21. That's the flip side of these big city clubs when they hit a bit of form. No sign of a following or the 'likely lads' when they are shit or just bobbling along. Bit of form and ambition and suddenly thousands turn up and up pops the mob handed gimps with their safety in numbers routine. Pathetic.
  22. Not long ago Hull were getting 10k and probably not even that in the ground and their followings here are similar to ours there, 500/1500 tops. Today they are bringing 3k. Things can turnaround but we've been in this doom loop 15 years now and it shows no signs of shifting. What i'd give to have just one season away from all this nonsense.
  23. The people running rovers will go to any lengths of bullshitting i'm utterly amazed anyone wouldn't consider the notion of red herring names it's the oldest trick in the football book. Even before you factor in this lot here. As for this window there is clearly no real budget so they are desperately trying to use the shirt buttons they have.
  24. I'd rather have David Icke running Rovers to be honest.
