  1. Is that with or without what Akon owes VLL !
  2. I think a lot of people who work or have worked there until recently in both a football and non football capacity would agree. Don't think it's a coincidence either that a more corporate administration soulless approach has set in since that other Rao fella was stuck onto the board of directors.
  3. Disagree there quite strongly as two of them i'm convinced Pears doesn't save, great reflex saves that you probably wouldn't expect bank average keepers to make.
  4. He has been honest and told it like it was,, that he wasn't rocking a perfectly comfortable boat floating steadily after he plugged many leaks. So he's basically confirmed he was under no pressure nor expectation from above to do anything else therefore he was doing his job to the best of his ability. Just the same as he had anywhere else and would've done had he stayed at Sunderland or Brum. I doubt very much they'd be in the Prem if he stayed there and at the same time Brum would never have gone to league 1 briefly. He is the ultimate steady Eddie and that comes with both pros and cons. Some Rovers fans though still can't handle the fact he was happy going nowhere and saw no harm in it for a club like us, even when he goes on a podcast confirming it.
  5. We were excellent v Hull once we found a foothold in the game and settled down but lets not forget if it wasn't for Toth we'd have comfortably been a goal or two down.
  6. Bogey side at Ewood and the ultimate blow hot one min blow cold the next min club. A much sterner test than last week and Brum. Rovers 1 Norwich 1
  7. I'm one of their biggest critics also and i haven't seen much to praise Gestede about, quite the opposite but you don't really sign good players by mistake. If they wanted to fill the squad full of shite they would do it would be quite easy and been done before. But your right the main driver is not promotion it is as they've always been trying to put in place, an entire squad who has real potential to increase in value so they can sell them all again. They are using the assets they have in order to do that because we know the Vs don't/can't put actual money in for players. So they are basically having a mass fire sale to fund a new direction and to do it they need half decent signings at least and the mass influx of transfer cash has allowed them to do that. Lets not forget the actual recruitment team in this below Gestede who probably do most of the hard work.
  8. As is airing your dirty laundry in public throwing players under the bus to deflect any stick coming your/the clubs way. They are ALL at fault which just goes to show how toxic and every man for himself it is behind the scenes there now.
  9. That's because they are bitter and have reason to be, it's not rocket science. Some day the penny will finally drop who the real snakes are.
  10. At the end of the day he's too honest and stuck in his ways for his own good, hard to not respect him but it's also frustrating beyond the pale at times. We are used to so much bullshit at this club and football in general it's often hard to fathom the validity of honesty when it makes an appearance. Mowbray blew some decent wage budgets here and was no doubt happy with the plod but his bosses were the ones who were responsible for that it's ultimately their lack of vision and ambition that creates the situation.
  11. 3 million and a sell on my backside they were offering 1.2 million a week or so ago. Yes i think he wanted out because he's wanted a better contract for a while and no way here were they giving him 4 years on the same of better money. Eustace has known the mess behind the scenes here and he tried to sort it but was fobbed off so it's a bit daft trying to blame him for everything it's this club sheer incompetence that causes it all. Maybe on purpose, maybe not. Anyway i'm sure the couple of million in real life terms this deal will net will come in handy, good luck to Trav i'm sure he'll have a decent career at Derby......for as long as Eustace is around.
  12. The transition to a cheaper squad has suddenly maybe become a revolution. I'd say someone somewhere has been rattled and let the brakes off a bit but we'll see by the end of the window. Agents payments in the next set of accounts will be eye watering.
  13. And the resale value. It'll be stat driven they'll feed an AI tool a player and then ask it what he will be worth after 50/100 English Championship appearances etc. That's what will be getting Suhail and the V's excited.
  14. I think out of all the leavers he's probably the most likely to be happy to sit it out till summer i doubt he's stamping his feet to go to Watford because they are unlikely to be offering 3 years at double bubble. Of course that doesn't mean he won't be pushed out and branded a snake and a refusenik if Watford offer a fee.
  15. Better than some of the slapped arse entitled faces of some of the loans shunted here that's for sure.
  16. The initial fees spent probably stack up to the David Raya add on money which will count as something of a bonus on the income sheet. The rest of the sales before this summer were always marked for running costs.
  17. Miller will probably end up covering Hyams position if they shunt him off to Watford at the last min.
  18. I think the aim with be to squeeze enough back to pay off his contract if they aren't making an actual offer. This transfer seems to be one engineered by agents in order to find him something rather than an interested party making a good offer for a contracted player.
  19. What they don't get rid of now they'll sell in the Jan window i think that's nailed on.
  20. Did all those other clubs drop out of the Baradji chase when they got wind he had a dodgy foot ? Leaving Rovers the only ones prepared to risk it.
  21. Sorry but that holds no weight at all in regards to those other clubs bar Blackpool who had live targets right on their doorstep who they could directly impact. In any case it was the other fella who was the real end of the Oystons not the fans although they no doubt helped. When have Burnley or Preston got rid of horrendous or dodgy owners ? They haven't they've both been relatively well owned over the past 20/30 years the proof of the pudding is only there when you eat it. People say protests etc have no impact but if we look back to the height of it Kean/Anderson & co then Shagnew where rooted out of the club after constant pressure on the ownership after the sent Shebby. Eventually he to was pulled out and we entered the Waggot era which was largely stable so everyone plodded along. Once the nonsense started again and the fans groups revved up again the heat focused on him he was pretty quickly gone. So i disagree protests don't have any impact at all it's just because of the unique way this ownership is shielded by thousands of miles and cultural differences it'll take something monumental to get rid. And no amount of Bolton/Burnley/Preston would be any different in our shoes you just might get a few more arrests on matchday.
  22. Yep big business mostly use debt to leverage and if you have plenty fixed assets to secure it against and good liquidity then away you go. Their only problem is when it's nearing tipping point and the lenders say woa you need to reel this in a bit and i think we reached that point whilst Mowbray was still here and before any court case began to bite. Also the fact that the parent company still has a massive turnover but profits and market value have much reduced post pandemic i presume. Lenders won't be keen on seeing 10 million go to the club and ten million be held for the govt every 6 months and neither will the V's finance dept. I can fully understand that to be fair although it doesn't help our cause and at any point one of them could stick a personal ten million in but they don't operate like that.
