Meanwhile several players have spoke to the press themselves out of their own mouths and said they want to stay but haven't had talks yet or been offered anything yet. Where is the actual evidence of that ? Seems the local press are working on assumption and even if so it's literally a few months difference why wasn't he offered something a good 18 months ago ? Some will just ignore the obvious constantly in order to blame the player, they can only turn down a contract when they are OFFERED one in the first place and there has NEVER been any talk of Brittain turning down an offer or stalling on one !

Maybe not the same scenario but there are shades of the Anderson/Kean manoeuvres here again over the last 18 months with such a turnover of staff seemingly forced or encouraged on purpose. When they potted Allardyce the established players went mad and he pacified them by handing out one year extensions then before those extensions kicked in they manipulated them towards the exit door grabbing what they could for some along the way. The aim .. reduce the wage bill for the owners and bring in some money for the black hole coupled with their commission to get rid and bring in cheaper. There is definitely a forced turnover happening again here even in the backroom staff etc and the aim is the same, reduce wages, grab money, bring in cheaper all across the board. Who is on commission this time though.

It could be his agent it could be Rovers saying better to sit this one out and his head will be all over the shop anyway what's the point of risking turning an ankle or getting a kick on the calf in a friendly ?

He isn't near Prem standard really he was probably the best RWB last season outside of the top 6 clubs but we are talking one good season not several consistent ones. 2.5 million is too cheap for us to be letting him go but if they are getting 3 million plus for a guy with only a year left it's fair game i suppose but the whole point is it should never have come to this and had no need to in his case, it's ALL on the club again. 100% and this is why i fear we are being taken for a ride again by a new little power gang inside Ewood who want to turnover the entire squad. It isn't Ismael they aren't trying to build a team specifically for him they never do that he's just the latest gatekeeper but probably one who'll stand in line better than JDT or Eustace did, for a while at least. You want squad players instead of investing a few decent fees on players of the calibre of Szmodics, Hyam, Brittain etc ? Players who've enabled this club to challenge at the top and AND avoid relegation, players who give a profitable return on the investment on and off the park ? Give over. Like i said there is a small budget only for initial fees for 'squaddies' just like there was under Mowbray and it's the reason this club never really challenges the top 6 in May. The one and ONLY reason a few players have allegedly been lined up for 2/2.5 million fees and a bit of pedigree is to bring them in for when Brittain and Travis and/or Tronstad are sold. Rovers are well aware all along there is real interest in these players and it is the only time they will spend real money. Once and for all wake up it's obvious what is going on and has been all along and living in this building a squad for Ismael is bollocks. They are doing what they always do and filling up squad places as cheap as they can whilst trying to prep to cover a few major departures.
