  1. It wasn't just the fact that Mrs Kindon was promiscuous but to cap it all she was actually reputed to be a lady of the night. I'm not sure if this is true or not but I have heard it from many sources. Kindon was 1 of the only Burnley players who I have ever quite liked. I think it was when Stuart Hall described him as a "motorised sideboard" once. As for James, next time we play Wigan the Blackburn End should bring back the good old days by singing "Leighton Baines is a homesexual" for the whole game.
  2. Fergie's rant was hilarious. How could he contest the penalty or the sending off, the only big decision that was wrong was their first goal which was a mile offside. He really is a sad old soak and the sooner he is put out to pasture the better. I think its quite sad when top people are so unsporting that they can never give the opposition any credit when they lose and him, Wenger and Mourinho are in competition to find who is the worst loser. They should take examples from other sporst where people play hard but can still shake hands and have respect for each other at the end. As for his refusal to speak to the BBC, surely this is reason enough for Utd to be fined their proportion of the TV money BBC pay because they are not contributing as much as everyone else to the TV coerage. Then again, I probably only think that because its them.
  3. Is Tears for Fears the only record they have on Radio Rovers? My God but this 2nd half is going to be sheer hell, c'mon!
  4. Its hardly big news is it. In every league the big teams have all the influence and so get favourable treatment. Check out Rangers and Celtic up here or Juventus in Italy or Bayern Munich in germany, it happens everywhere. I'm afraid that the likes of us just have to live with it.
  5. Its always a delight to win away with a dodgy goal, perhaps it does even itself out after all. In my view any player would try and put the ball in the net and then leave it to the ref to decide if it was legal or not and thats what MGP did. Just like Maradona back in '86. The talk in the Strawberry after the game was that Souness had to go and go now but maybe Newcastle can't afford to get rid and will maybe wait to the end of the season.
  6. There's loads of good boozers in Newcastle and you won't get any trouble unless you start getting out of order. The Witherspoons opposite the station (Union Rooms I think) is a good starting point and then just make your way to the ground. We'll be in there for 11 or so and there's always been Rovers fans in there when I've been. I wouldn't recommend any songs like "Thank you very much for poaching Souness" mind.
  7. Souness just seems to keep winning the last chance games and hanging on but maybe it is all set up for us to stuff them and for him to get the boot after. Pity Bellamy isn't around to drive that final nail in. I reckon it'll be a draw though, 1-1. Dickov for us. Sure to be a good day out whatever the result.
  8. Its a load of nonsence. That system probably hasn't been used for a year and how would you know its not working until it doesn't work? Its just one of those things and there's nowt anyone can do about it. Why don't they just make sure that all games at this time of year are fairly local so they can make late decisions without causing people massive wasted journeys, eg Charlton fans.
  9. Did anyone else here Lawro on 6-0-6? When a Rovers fan mentioned the great following at yesterday's game his comment was "Not very far to go was it." What a tosser, why does he hate Rovers so much? It looked from the highlights on Football First that we stuffed them completely but again the co-comentator was very grudging in his comments about us. Not sure who he was but he said after Reid's goal that it was the first bright spot of an otherwise dull game. Didn't sound dull on the radio or luck dull on the highlights so I'm not sure why he said that. Does anyone know who it was, a Scouser I think.
  10. Can't believe we've sold out, how many tickets did we get? I think we're playing well at the moment and against almost anyone else I'd be confident but the Arse are a good side in form and I can see them beating us 3-1. By the way, that rule about loan players not being able to play is a joke. I would personally not allow loans between clubs in the same division but if they do allow them why can't the players play? Surely this gives an unfair advantage to teams who loan players out as they get to play against teams who can't pick their first choice 11. Obviousely this advantage only applies to the likes of Chelsea and Arsenal who have huge squads so therefore have to loan players out, its just not fair. Lets have maximum squad sizes so if clubs want to buy players they have to sell someone on rather than loaning them out.
  11. Totally support BEB's point about unreserved seating. There are probably plenty of people who don't go because they can't sit with their mates or have to sit on the front row in the rain for big games. It would also get all the singers together which would make for a better atmosphere. I would love to see terracing back too but I can't see this happening unless fans from all clubs join together to campaign for it as there's nothing we can do unilaterally. I haven't really been following this thread but are the club supportive of BRISA?
  12. What a fantastic performance. I would say that is the best I've seen Rovers play for at least 3 years. Charlton are 1 of the best teams in the league and we stuffed them out of sight, even with having to reshuffle twice because of injuries. It shows how important it is to have a proper playmaker in the team as Tugay was supoerb and ran everything from the midle of the park. I wander how many times he touched the ball because everything went through him. There are very few players in this league who can play that role and probably none who can play it as well as he can when he's on his game so I hope we can get another year out of him after this. Flowing football, great wing play, noisy crowd and goals galore. FOOTBALL IS BACK AT EWOOD!!!
  13. How can anyone be critical of anyone after yesterday's performance. Performances like that come along rarely, and in our case not for a couple of years, so REJOICE.
  14. Yes, its blue and white in a halved design.
  15. Oh no! here we go again, I think you mean Northern Ireland.
  16. Isn't it great to see something you hate going horribly wrong?
  17. MC, met some B'pool fans on the train home a few weks ago and they were more slagging off the club than CH as apparantly he's been f***ed around. They were happy to join in with "OOh Colin hendry .....etc"
  18. Read the London Standard preview of the game. It is basically:- "strong arm...blah blah....tough guys....blah blah.....dirty northerners....blah blah.....strong arm...blah blah" Come on Rovers lets show these Southern jessies what its all about eh! 2-0 Rovers, Bellamy & Pederson, 19,121. Has JBN moved from Edinburgh?
  19. Maybe. I think optimism is in order as long as we're realistic. At the start of the season some people on here were talking about Europe while I thought we would struggle to stay up the way we have played over the last couple of years. We do seem to have got better though so I don't think top half is out of the question. We have to keep winning at home though as we are playing all the teams we should beat at the moment. Even being less dull is a cause for optimism, on saying that though the last game I was at (Brum) was tedious up till half time.
  20. For the first time in about 3 years I'm beginning to feel a bit optimistic about Rovers. The main reason for this is that we are actually trying to get forward and win games instead of sticking 9 behind the ball and playing for draws. If we can keep that spirit and attitude going for the rest of the season then we should be able to finish top half and then puch on next year. I reckon a lot depends on Bellamy being fit as well.
  21. Carefull what you wish for. There's maybe 3 or 4 better goalies in the league and certainly non better in our squad so why would we want to leave him out? Its madness and the kind of thing that'll end in tears, mark my words.
  22. Yes thanks but feeling very rough. I've got The Fall and John Cooper Calrke tomorrow night so hope I feel better by then.
  23. This was bettered only by a Scottish ref called Les Mottram a few years ago when he was reffing Partick v Dundee United. A shot went into the goal, hit the stansion and bounced out. As the fans celebrated a defender caught the ball and threw it back to the keeper who booted it back to the centre. What did our Les do? He played on of course. Surely the best ever to miss a gaol and a clear penalty in 1 go.
