I’m toying with trying Hedges up front instead of Henriksson. He can’t possibly be worse. Pickering can play instead in Hedges old position.

So we should sign a right wing back to come and play a few games for us until Alebiosu returns from Africa ? I can’t see many decent players jumping at that.

Yes that’s true, but when I’ve seen him play I haven’t seen anything that would lead me to think there’s an exceptional talent there. He’s neat and tidy on the ball but that’s it.

Like most centre halves he’s a bit slow on the turn. You need to be rapid in that respect to play in that position. I like the lad a lot but I see him as the right sided centre back in a three as his best position. He’s doing ok as a right back and he’s doing his best to stand in for Alebiosu.

There’s such a thing as going 2-0 up too soon. The winning team can get caught in two minds - do we press on for more goals or do we defend what we’ve got and try to conserve energy ? The losing team can only play one way, go all out and try and get back into the game. Anybody else at Maine Road when we went 2-0 up after about 10 minutes only to lose 2-3 to a David White hat trick ?

I don’t know when that happened as he played the whole 90 odd minutes of the game. There was an incident in the first half when he was sent sprawling into the hoardings behind the opposing goal by an opponent who caught him off balance. However he played on after that bad fall. I expected him to be subbed at half time after that but he stayed on.

It’s like the lad Brierley who we “ signed “ before letting him slip through our fingers and go to Brentford. He’s out on loan at Exeter at the moment. He could have been Wharton’s understudy here. Not his fault though.
