  1. I think it’s pretty bad in sport. Cricket is worse in my opinion. When. I worked in industry we stuck together, we had to, because we knew if we didn’t we’d get abused by the management.
  2. Nobody is pushing him anymore, he’s going.
  3. That’s why it very rarely happens. There no integrity in pro football and there hasn’t been for decades.
  4. So you think that the other players wouldn’t have known Travis wanted to leave iuntil Israel said so ? Even the dogs in the street could see he wanted a move
  5. Howling’ Wolf - Smokestack Lightning
  6. Football is a team game played by individuals. They all look after number one. Nobody is going to rock the boat - ever. There are a multitude of lucrative jobs awaiting for ex-players who toe the line and keep their traps shut. Throw in coach anybody, set piece coach ? They’ve all got their eyes on the future prizes. Remember what happened to Mike Newall when he spoke out ?
  7. I agree. He was asked a straight question and he gave a straight answer. That’s not “ throwing anybody under the bus” , it’s simply telling the truth.
  8. I’ve been Venkies out since they sacked Big Sam. They obviously had a death wish for the club even then.
  9. Pat Benatar - Hit Me With Your Best Shot
  10. If he could move to Hull he’d be handy for the ferry.
  11. “ Based on what he contributes to the team “ £250 a week should just about do it then. Sorry, read Hyam as Hedges. I must get my cataracts done when I get back to the UK
  12. I’d want a “ difference maker “ for that sort of money. Travis doesn’t fit that bill. I’m thinking of players like Berkovic when he was the final piece of the jigsaw that saw us promoted. He was a “ difference maker “.
  13. Gueye and Ohashi together hasn’t worked so far. Possibly because they’ve never actually been played as a pair, but one playing behind the other.
  14. Like what. In a winger I look for real pace, has he got a trick or two, is he two footed, is he a threat in the air, is he a nasty bastard to play against, does he demand the ball ? I couldn’t see any of those attributes in Hedges when I first saw him play and nothing has changed subsequently.
  15. Johnny Rivers - The Poor Side Of Town
  16. Me too. Playing or watching, winning is everything.
  17. He was absolutely terrible last season. Given the wages he was on probably our worst loan signing ?
  18. It won’t be long before he is up to that standard. If he can stay injury free the sky’s the limit. He’s unique.
  19. He was like that on his debut.
  20. The fight started going out of the club as a whole the day the Chicken Chokers walked through the door.
  21. Same guy put in one of the best crosses I ever saw. Right on MGP’s foot from 40 yards away against Fulham.
  22. It’s not the real relegation thread unless Jim starts it. Accept no imitations.
  23. I’m not sure. Didn’t he have a spell at right back ?
  24. I was watching both Trav and Tron last Saturday closely. On several occasions both players managed to intercept a pass and get half way in front of their immediate opponent. Common football sense says you then run directly in front of your opponent. That way they either have to let you go or foul you, if you have reasonable pace that is. On nearly every occasion they were too slow to run in front and they then had the ball taken off them. This happened several times and I was really surprised at both players lack of pace. Are they being flogging in training ? I know 90% of players will train just as hard as they are made to. Most like an easy life.
