  1. Whoever does their scouting must know the score. They’ve made some good signings on a shoestring. Same goes for the coaching if the can get a tune out of Amari Bell. They’ve got Barkley up to top speed as well.
  2. Yeah, if you knew me you’d know I was the world’s worst loser as a player. I just take Rovers malaise in my stride now, it’s been going on that long. I only have the odd sleep less night these days. One of my grandsons is a Rovers fan. He’s just made 17, these shitheads are all he’s ever known. Imagine what that must be like ! At least I saw a Ronnie, Dougie, Big Fred, Mike England, Andy Mac, Fergie,Sir Keith etc when I was his age. I was a good winner though, no pisstaking or gloating. Just a shake of the hand with your opponents after the game.
  3. Sharks are circling. They sense blood in the water.
  4. I don’t say much these days. I can’t get really excited about us to be honest.
  5. I never post during the game. What’s that saying “ It’s better to keep you mouth closed and let people think you are a fool than to open it and remove all doubt “. That especially works part way through a game when Rovers are playing.
  6. Gale was 35. John MacNammee was 30. Having said that back in John’s day 30 was knocking on a bit even for a centre half. He was what I call a centre half. He made Andy Todd look like a wimp. Matt Woods, who was the first Rovers centre half I saw play and was a real class act retired at 32.
  7. It’s obvious that we need the money asap. I suppose Wharton knows that as well as anybody.
  8. I'm sure it is but if I had a £5 note for every time I've seen a player move to the wrong club and see their career go down the pan I'd be reasonably wealthy. It's like anyone changing jobs, you've really got to want to do it.
  9. If his heart’s not in it he’d be better off not going there.
  10. It’s not just about the 11 that starts the game anymore. It’s about what you have on the bench that can come on and influence the game. Bench full of kids = losing games in the last quarter of the match. Ring any bells ?
  11. Steppenwolf - Born To Be Wild
  12. Call me old fashioned but when we sign a player I’d like to think he just might contribute something in his first season. When did it become par for the course that they should get a season to “ bed in “.
  13. You do know what “ ineffectual “ means I suppose. What has he actually done since he arrived ?
  14. Ennis has been a shocking signing. There can’t have been many more ineffectual signings. Even Grabbi scored a few goals.
  15. Subbed off at half time.
  16. Very similar sort of player to Wharton as well. Barker had that ability to turn out of trouble with the ball, and not into it like lots of players.
  17. I can think of a reason. I’ll give you a clue - it begins with a “ V “.
  18. Sutherland Brothers And Quiver - Arms Of Mary
  19. Ridiculous doesn’t sum it up. We’re really making ourselves look foolish.
  20. Haven’t we got the message yet ? Players only come to Rovers when we manage to alight on a player nobody else is bidding for. If there’s a choice they go elsewhere, and who can blame them ?
  21. You need billionaire owners for that plan to work - oh, I forgot, we have billionaire owners already !
  22. I agree. His passing ability is up there. How good was Tugay at 19 ? This lad could go all the way. Having said that I think Palace isn’t a good move for him.
  23. There’s a good report on the game in today’s “ Guardian “. Regarding Pears, their goal was a good finish, the lad spanked it and it was just inside the post. I can’t think of many Rovers keepers that would have stopped that one. The one he palmed back into the danger area was really poor. It was from distance and he had plenty of time to react. Both of our keepers do that way too often.
