Ridiculous doesn’t sum it up. We’re really making ourselves look foolish. -

Haven’t we got the message yet ? Players only come to Rovers when we manage to alight on a player nobody else is bidding for. If there’s a choice they go elsewhere, and who can blame them ? -

You need billionaire owners for that plan to work - oh, I forgot, we have billionaire owners already ! -

I agree. His passing ability is up there. How good was Tugay at 19 ? This lad could go all the way. Having said that I think Palace isn’t a good move for him. -

There’s a good report on the game in today’s “ Guardian “. Regarding Pears, their goal was a good finish, the lad spanked it and it was just inside the post. I can’t think of many Rovers keepers that would have stopped that one. The one he palmed back into the danger area was really poor. It was from distance and he had plenty of time to react. Both of our keepers do that way too often. -

It’s like watching another sport compared with today’s football. Way too much passing the ball forward. -
Sam Szmodics-Your thoughts?

I thought his technique wasn’t really up to playing consistently well at this level. He’s done really well, maybe JDT has worked on technique with him. He can certainly put the ball in the back in the net. -

Yeah, the last place I’d be going if I was him. Not a good move for Palace either. He’s not ready for a Premier League relegation scrap. -

Same here in Rochdale. -
I remember coming home from work one day about 5 o clock. The Aussies were batting on about 50 for 2. Underwood came on and had them all out in roughly an hour ! For the last couple of wickets he had every fielder in so close they were all in screen on the TV. As a kid I’d never seen anything like it. A few years later on I saw England batting against India ( I think ). Heavy rain had got under the covers, then a really hot sun came out India had two leg spinners bowling, Intikab Alam and Chandrasekhar ? England were doing ok at first, then the sun got going and all of a sudden the ball started turning square ! They skittled England out in about an hour that time. That was a real sticky wicket.

We’ve also had smaller clubs like Bury, Oldham and Rochdale in that catchment area. -

Yates “ isn’t as good as Gallagher in the air “ ? What is he - a dwarf ? Gallagher is the weakest 6’ 4” giant I’ve ever seen. -
Sounds like Derek Underwood. He wasn’t bad.

I saw them both at the old Spotland stadium against Rochdale. I’m pretty sure Steve Bull was playing for Wolves. The dingles also rocked up there in Div 4. Here’s a couple of games for you - FL Cup ( Littlewoods Cup ) Round 1 Aug 20th 1986 Rochdale v Burnley 1-1 att 1937 Sep 2nd 1986 Burnley v Rochdale 1-3 att 2805

That’s why we’ll never thrive under their ownership. The sooner they’re gone the better.
