  1. I’m running out of patience with Khadra, what did we bust a gut in signing Hedges for ?
  2. There’d certainly be some changes out there.
  3. Yeah, terrific cross. You can’t really coach that into players. It’s knowing just where to put that ball.
  4. Khadra’s not doing himself any favours at the moment. He’s really lacking in football intelligence. I remember when Matty was here at first, he was another one who held onto the ball too long at times. 6 months with Souey and the penny had dropped and he was on the way to becoming the brilliant all around striker he later turned into. Ton Finney told a story about when he was a young player. He was always trying to beat the extra man and losing the ball. One of the trainers got another player to stand 30 yards away and said to Tom “ You reckon you can beat me in getting the ball over to Jimmy over there, shall we have a small wager ? “ Tom said “ Yes I’m on , I’m pretty sure I can “ . So the trainer said “ On the count of three, one -two-three- go “. Before Tom had gone 4 yards dribbling the ball the trainer had just passed the ball to the other player and said “ I win “.
  5. Like anybody you have to play to his strengths to get the best out of him. As far as I can see his strength is running on to passes delivered into space. Playing the ball up to his feet is a waste of time.
  6. This season has been our best chance of going up without a doubt. Bournemouth are really poor given the resources they’ve got.
  7. We’ve got to give Gallagher balls to run onto if we want to get anything out of him. Paying it up to his feet is pointless. Get Giles on the left wing and Dolan on the right with instructions to get the ball in asap.
  8. Whenever I saw him play for Wigan I thought he was a top player at this level.
  9. How many games have we really dominated in the five years he’s been here ? Most of the time it’s been a bad 1st half and a decent second half or vice versa.
  10. That’s great header and about time some of the defenders chipped in.
  11. Trying Johnson up front should have been tried out in a practice game, even if it was only 45 minutes, not in a real game. That’s just amateurish.
  12. Whenever he comes on Radio Lancs after a game it’s impossible to tell if we’ve won, lost or drawn. It’s the same mumbling monotone , teeth sucking, platitudes.
  13. Who’d have thought that - we get Giles out wide left on his good foot and he gets around the back of the Derby defence to sling in a perfect cross right onto Gallys head. Wouldn’t he have been better playing out wide right like Mahrez and coming inside all the time ! Football is a simple game made complicated by some managers.
  14. Pep will be onto this soon, just watch.
  15. I once saw Sutton take a massive goal kick from Flowers onto his chest and then drop the ball right onto his foot all in one movement. Only class players can do things like that.
  16. Stuart Ripley.
  17. Isn’t he injured at the moment ?
  18. If Bournemouth are still watching him they must be thinking “ we dodged a bullet there “.
  19. Taken all in all he’s been a pretty bad signing.
  20. Me too, after playing schoolboy football on a Saturday morning a gang of us would chose a game and jump on a bus or a train. It could be Rovers, Burnley, Utd, City, Bolton, Bury etc Some times Oldham or even Rochdale. Rovers were great to watch in that period, we scored goals for fun ( 1962 to 1964 ) so I managed to get the gang to Rovers quite often. Of course this was in the days of walking up to any ground, putting your money down, and walking in. Standing wherever you felt like standing. None of the bullshit we get today.
  21. I’ve played 4 games in a weekend a few times as a kid. Most weekends it was three games. School or Town morning Youth Club afternoon. Sunday team afternoon.
  22. Yeah Bellamy for me. When he was fit he was a one man forward line.
  23. He lost the plot at the end but it was great while it lasted.
