  1. Thanks as always Tony. That was worth waiting for.
  2. Anybody who saw us lose at home 3-1 to West Ham two days after beating them 8-2 at Upton Park will never be confident of a Rovers win.
  3. That French Cop on “ Allo, Allo “ was typing it for him.
  4. Newcastle need a nailed on goal scorer, not somebody who might or might not score goals at that level. They can’t afford to gamble, and they don’t need to with the dosh they’ve got.
  5. I think playing away at Hull will suit our current style of play. They’ll go for it being the home team. With a bit of luck we’ll do our normal thing and catch them on the break. It’s the sides that park the bus that I worry about.
  6. You mean that small proportion of fans that actually know what a snood is ?
  7. That’s the point. We all want to carry on with Rovers playing and fans being able to attend as normal but is the virus listening ?
  8. Newcastle need more than 2 new signings.
  9. Strikers, even bad ones, are usually more valuable than full backs. Just how it is in football.
  10. I take your point and I wonder if Wharton would have come on as he has if he’d have been spending most of his season on the bench. Having said that if we are to continue with three centre halves, and I think we should, we need a couple of decent stand ins. Just having Ayala isn’t enough. One way or another centre halves are prone to injury or suspension.
  11. If we’re going to continue with the 3 centre half system we can’t afford to loan Carter out. He’s needed in case of injury or suspension.
  12. Yes, until recently I looked forward to the International breaks. I knew my weekend wouldn’t be ruined then.
  13. I went to the return game with a pal and his much older brother. He paid for us to go in the main stand. That’s the only time I sat in the stands in the old ground. Maybe I jinxed us. We played like we’d been celebrating since Boxing Day. We were never in the game.
  14. Indeed, that won’t be an easy game.
  15. Both. Just don’t ask me what I had for my tea last night !
  16. I did Ballroom and Latin American dance back in the day. I couldn’t keep time like that and I could hear the music ! It really was a phenomenal effort.
  17. In that case it’s a tie. Andy scored 3 at West Ham on Boxing Day and another against West Ham in the return game at Ewood two days later.
  18. Three players coming in who are no strangers to the treatment table.
  19. I think we were discussing players who had scored 20 goals for Rovers by Jan Ist in any season. Andy McEvoy had scored 23 league goals by that point in the season 1963-64.
  20. The three lads who are looking to move on certainly put themselves in the shop window yesterday.
  21. That’s not how it sounds to me. It smacks of “ We’ve got players for sale “.
  22. Come home lads. It’s men versus boys.
  23. I’ve seen us win the World Cup. It was no big deal at the time. I was more upset with Rovers getting relegated earlier that year.
  24. It’s the same every week. From his tone and demeanour It’s hard to tell wether we’ve won 4-0 or lost 4-0 !
  25. In his comments after yesterday’s game he was still bigging up the likes of Evans and Holtby etc and saying what a massive loss they were. That tells me he hasn’t learnt much.
