  1. We could always pretend they were brain surgeons, ---- well maybe not
  2. I thought Gallagher was signed to replace Brererton out on the right wing.
  3. It's where he wants to play. When you're playing as a lone striker you need good service to thrive. If you're also a small lone striker the service has got to be excellent otherwise you just get out muscled.
  4. I'm bearing that in mind. It always helps when you get to play where you want to play.
  5. I see the other Brighton loan goalkeeper, Roberto Sanchez at Rochdale, has made the team of the week for that division. I knew he was tall but I didn't release he's 6' 6". Two young Bolton players are in the team also Dennis Politic and Ethan Hamilton. Hamilton is very highly rated by Keith Hill. They are both ex Man Utd Youth. Politic is a wide player and Hamilton is central midfield. Worth a look ?
  6. Armstrong's usually " excellent " for about 5 weeks a season. Let's not get carried away.
  7. It'll be a poor do if that lot can't put in a performance !
  8. If he turns out to be half as good as King Keith he won't be here long.
  9. You need as many ways of playing as you can get out of the squad. 'Boro going long ball at the end to Gestede should have won them the game.
  10. It never ceases to amaze me that you can get a person coming on here saying X,Y or Z was awful on Saturday and another person coming on saying they were excellent when they both watched exactly the same game. They can't both be right. I think sometimes people let their prejudices influence their opinions. I try and leave my blue and white glasses at home when I watch Rovers play. I also try not to let my prejudices, which we all have, influence how I rate a player.
  11. Tony was Blackburn Rovers through and through both on and off the pitch. He always gave 100 % to the club without much reward I suppose. Good luck for the future Tony. Maybe a benefit match would be the best way to contribute to his future treatment. Possibly the last promotion team against the current lot.
  12. Sorry, I'm getting confused with the lad who came off against Liverpool with a similar name. Unless I've got that wrong as well !
  13. He came off injured against Liverpool. Maybe they're saving him for the replay ?
  14. He'd have to take his place the queue. Maybe we need more physios not more players !
  15. Harry Berry says his debut was on 22 Sept 2009. I think he's right, according to wiki he made his debut in a League Cup game against Notts Forest.. The Chelsea game was his Premier League debut.
  16. It's a crap Division. Luton tore it up last season and look at them now.
  17. Sorry Matty. Mrs Shoelaces bought me several Rovers books for Xmas. According to Harry Berry's " Rovers Miscellany " Phil Jones was !7yrs and 213 days.
  18. There was a reason why we went from being likely candidates for dropping down into the old Fourth Division to regularly knocking on the door of the old First Division. That was because we had a board consisting of local people who knew enough about pro football that they were able to appoint a series of young and up and coming managers that one by one turned the club completely around. With the sole exception of Jim Iley all the incumbents in that era had more about them than our current manager. Without leadership at the very top we are like a rudderless ship.
  19. Adam Henley in November 2011. Ronnie Clayton was 16 years and 263 days old when he made his debut.
  20. What surprised me is that Bennett was brought on first to play in an a position he's not really suited for inspite of the fact he's supposed to be carrying an injury.
  21. Yeah, there's a decent player in there if he can steer clear of injuries. I was more critical of the wall of silence regarding his injuries. He seemed to vanish off the planet once he wasn't playing.
  22. Maybe Davenport will get a game now ?
  23. The other young Brighton goalkeeper that has gone out on loan to Rochdale is getting very good reviews. MOTM today again.
  24. What about the non existent press on the shooter ?
  25. If we just bump around mid table again what message will that send to our better, more saleable, players like Nyambe, Lenihan and Travis this summer ? If you heard Mowbray's interview tonight it sounded like he was putting Travis in the shop window as the next money spinner now that Dack is out of the window for the next 9 to 12 months.
