  1. It's the players that we don't want to sell that we may struggle to hold on to. Players like Travis who can put it about a bit are few and far between theses days. Players like him are what you need to get out of this Division. Other teams will be watching. Ditto with goal scorers.
  2. None of the rest will bring much more than £500k at the moment.
  3. I think Armstrong's highlight reel will be a bit more exciting than the one Brereton put out. His was all running and not many goals. Armstrong's will be not much running but lots of goals.
  4. Hilarious. Kelvin Skerrett with the swinging arm I think. When you think what you get a red card for in football.
  5. I was there that night mate, a game to remember.
  6. I heard he was on the grassy knoll in Dallas when Kennedy got shot, just saying.
  7. I was at a sportsman do when somebody asked Dean Saunders who the best player was in his time. He said Paul McGrath was easily the best player he played with.
  8. Then there's Sam Hart, another mysterious signing.
  9. Well there's a difference between optimism and blind optimism.
  10. Reading the initial posts in this thread is interesting. There'll be one or two red faces on here now. Same with the early posts on the Sam Gallagher thread
  11. Yeah you didn't have to be a pro scout to see he looked the part. A very good full back indeed.
  12. You weren't at the World Club Championship game, Wigan V Manley then ? That showed how much of a Rugby League town Wigan is. The ground was packed to the rafters with over 35,000 on and there were hundreds watching outside Central Park just to get a glimpse of the game through a gap between the stands. I agree with you regarding Ian Lenagan, he's nobodies fool.
  13. It's " Jack And The Beanstalk " all over again. We sold our cow and got a handful of beans in exchange !
  14. It's same with the players, nobody will say a thing until the manager actually gets the bullet then the truth sometimes comes out.
  15. Apart from Travis there's not a tackle in any of them beyond the back four.
  16. It's even better now they're playing behind closed doors. There isn't a possibility of a " Mowbray Out " chant anymore.
  17. I thought Johnson did a great job with the " reserves " before he got promoted to chief drone pilot or whatever it is that he does these days. Unfortunately in my eyes he's become tarred with the Mowbray brush. They're all as bad, anybody with any degree of responsibility for that rubbish we've seen recently needs to go.
  18. How long can clubs carry on paying out daft wages with minimal income ? Especially teams in our league who are having to play behind closed doors. If next season has to carry on like this season those numbers may well be correct
  19. The way we allowed Wigan to walk away with the number 1 spot when we got promoted spoke volumes for me. Chances like that come along once or twice a generation if you're lucky. I'm coming around to the conclusion that the " Chicken Chokers " end game is to demoralise and reduce the fan base to such a point that they can wrap the club up and there won't be enough people left to make a fuss. Look at Bury.
  20. It's the football on display most of the time that does my head in. Dull, uninspiring, unimaginative, boring, tedious, gutless, I could fill a page with similar adjectives but they would all equally apply to the manager as well. For me football is there to get your blood racing and your heart pounding, it's to send you home with excitement coursing through your body. At the moment it's more likely to send you to sleep. Do they not realise they're supposed to be part of the " entertainment Industry " ?
  21. He'd run his race just like Mowbray has. We were going backwards, he had to go.
  22. Who on this board would have appointed any of Kean, Berg, Appleton, Bowyer, Coyle, Mowbray on a permanent basis ? I wouldn't. Most of them were completely off the radar as far as I was concerned. I would have appointed Lambert, so I'll stand by that one.
  23. Everybody in football will know that Venkies would take half that fee if push comes to shove.
  24. HMS Gestede sailed a long while ago. Warnock had him weighed up in five minutes.
