  1. He came off injured against Liverpool. Maybe they're saving him for the replay ?
  2. He'd have to take his place the queue. Maybe we need more physios not more players !
  3. Harry Berry says his debut was on 22 Sept 2009. I think he's right, according to wiki he made his debut in a League Cup game against Notts Forest.. The Chelsea game was his Premier League debut.
  4. It's a crap Division. Luton tore it up last season and look at them now.
  5. Sorry Matty. Mrs Shoelaces bought me several Rovers books for Xmas. According to Harry Berry's " Rovers Miscellany " Phil Jones was !7yrs and 213 days.
  6. There was a reason why we went from being likely candidates for dropping down into the old Fourth Division to regularly knocking on the door of the old First Division. That was because we had a board consisting of local people who knew enough about pro football that they were able to appoint a series of young and up and coming managers that one by one turned the club completely around. With the sole exception of Jim Iley all the incumbents in that era had more about them than our current manager. Without leadership at the very top we are like a rudderless ship.
  7. Adam Henley in November 2011. Ronnie Clayton was 16 years and 263 days old when he made his debut.
  8. What surprised me is that Bennett was brought on first to play in an a position he's not really suited for inspite of the fact he's supposed to be carrying an injury.
  9. Yeah, there's a decent player in there if he can steer clear of injuries. I was more critical of the wall of silence regarding his injuries. He seemed to vanish off the planet once he wasn't playing.
  10. Maybe Davenport will get a game now ?
  11. The other young Brighton goalkeeper that has gone out on loan to Rochdale is getting very good reviews. MOTM today again.
  12. What about the non existent press on the shooter ?
  13. If we just bump around mid table again what message will that send to our better, more saleable, players like Nyambe, Lenihan and Travis this summer ? If you heard Mowbray's interview tonight it sounded like he was putting Travis in the shop window as the next money spinner now that Dack is out of the window for the next 9 to 12 months.
  14. I've been complaining for ages that none of the central midfield players ever run beyond the strikers. That goal was a classic example of what can happen when one of them does. In Mowbray's interview tonight he more or less admitted he's been holding Travis back because neither of the other two in midfield have a tackle in them and somebody has to put a foot in in the midfield. It seems a waste to me. Having said that Holtby should be making those runs also..
  15. Don't forget that was at Hull. It can be very windy out there. It looked to me like the wind gave it a helping hand after he miss controlled the ball.
  16. There's a reason why he's only good to be chucked on at the death. He's had his fair share of injuries since he left Rovers. We need to be looking elsewhere.
  17. The way things are going with all our No 10 type players Dack-Rothwell-Holtby he'd be playing next week if we hadn't have let him leave !
  18. Yeah, I'd have had Chapman on instead of either Brererton or Samuel. Maybe he got out pointed in the fight ?
  19. You are joking of course. What happened to the great team spirit we keep hearing about ?
  20. Hands up all those outfield players on here who have never done something similar. I know I have.
  21. Thanks. What hurts most is the " Brexitisation " of our fan base. We seemed to be bitterly divided in our views regarding the owners, the manager etc to a much greater extent. than ever we were in the past. Maybe we can thank the internet and social media for some of that. As the old saying goes " A house divided against itself cannot stand ".
  22. Quite possibly. Bennett on the left wing is like a fish riding a bike.
  23. The best on going policy to attract more fans is to play football that gets you out of your seat now and again and to win your home games. I watched the Wigan game and we were beyond awful. Nobody on the verge of becoming a regular attender again will have come away from that game thinking " Roll on the next home game " or " I'll get a season ticket ". That's not the first time we've played like drains in front of a good attendance.
  24. It's more than just being in this "crap division " for me matey. It's the whole mess, the debt, the powerlessness, the alienation from the fans of the what used to be what I felt was my club, the lots of really dull football, the "doublespeak " from those supposedly in charge. It's the whole nine yards. You and I have seen us in this " crap division " before for decades but we never lost the faith, Rovers were our team even when we couldn't pay the electric bill. I could always paint a rosy picture of our future then even if it was pretty unrealistic, under the Chokers I can't.
  25. That's Monday 8-30am whilst 9-00am. What are you going to do for the rest of the week ?
