  1. I remember Donis playing against Ajax in the Champions League and running Winston Bogarde ragged. He looked a good player off that showing.
  2. I'd have put my house on us being in the bottom six when the season started in August. I had a sneaking feeling we'd be going down also. We had nothing that a team needs to win enough games to stay up.
  3. This is starting to look like I have a down on the lad but I haven't. John O'Sullivan withdrawn last night after getting a yellow card for a retaliatory foul. Sounds like he's trying too hard.
  4. Not really a game for kids. It's going to be a man's game, let's hope we can find a few.
  5. Is he drawing his pension yet ? The one thing Shebby got right.
  6. The squad of players we started the season with was a squad that I thought would quite probably have been relegated. Nothing player wise has changed, they are still a collection of players devoid of everything you need to be a successful football team. We have a squad without balance and without any real leaders on the field, they play like boys in a mans game. I had hoped our new management team ( all very experienced football men ) would have had more of an impact by this point. Maybe I underestimated the task in hand. I remember feeling like this when Mark Hughes took over, for a month or two we were equally bad albeit at a much higher level. Then he brought some MEN in who were prepared to get stuck in, run furthest, and get more than their share of 50/50 balls, contested headers etc. Let's see what the window brings.
  7. I remember Bryan Douglas , Bobby Craig and Joe Haverty playing up front for us. Dougie was the tallest at 5' 6", Craig was 5' 5" and " Little Joe " 5' 3". You could count on the fingers of one hand Rovers players who could have played prop for Hornets. John Bray would have been a good shout. Kevin Moran and Matt Woods had the heart for it .
  8. He played up front with Beattie when Duff was on the left wing.
  9. Thomas isn't the guy I'm thinking of. I remember Thomas scoring against Bolton on his Premier League debut. It was downhill after that. The lad I'm thinking of was called Cassin I think.
  10. He's the left winger in my Rovers all time 11. Absolutely top class at both Club and International level. I first saw him play for the Youth Team and I wasn't massively impressed. James Beattie and a lad playing number 10 ( Graeme Cassin ? ) were much more impressive.
  11. Not many on the Rochdale fans board are impressed with him. Some want him sent back to Rovers already.
  12. If he's not doing it for Hilly he may have to bench the lad. He needs to shape up soon.
  13. It's a bit disappointing he's not been able to impress even playing at a lower level. Hill won't be able to keep playing him if he's not contributing.
  14. O'Sullivan subbed again at Rochdale. This time after about 60 odd minutes. Questions being asked on their board about his fitness. Rochdale lost 0-1.
  15. Pairing him up with Dwight Yorke was his downfall.
  16. We got invited when we battered West Ham away 8-2. I think West Ham had either won it or done really well the previous year.
  17. Anybody old enough to have seen England v Poland World Cup game at Wembley in 1973 ? That game is the nearest thing I've seen to it. Could have won by 6 or 7 goals easily. Rovers made more good chances in that game than we have all season up to now.
  18. O'Sullivan taken off after half an hour at Rochdale. He'd had the hard word from the ref and was already on a yellow !
  19. Just watched the England v Scotland kick and clap game in the pub. How bad are England ? Their decision making is atrocious. They invent new ways to bomb tries every time I see them. When you pass the ball that far forward even a rugby union official thinks it's forward then you've got to be a moron.
