Ah but don't forget to factor this in..... Candidate walks in for their interview to be met by Waggott sat there. Looking like he's about to try and sell someone a 13 year old Ford Fiesta. His tie is badly fastened as the collar of his ill fitting shirt strains under severe pressure. The room smells a bit funny, he's clearly been sat there farting out last nights chicken jalfrezi for the past hour. He reaches out with a swear riddled palm to shake said candidates hand. "Hi I'm Steve pleased to meet you, I take care of the day to day running of the club". Steve asks a handful of questions he's pulled off Google, none really relating to being a football manager. Then as the interview is getting wrapped up he asks the candidate do they have any questions to ask him about the role. Imagine the absolute guff that follows! Candidate at this point thinks "fuck that". End result is we end up with someone a bit desperate. They're either not qualified for the role as they've never managed before, or they've been out of work for a while and getting bored of the golf course. That in a nutshell is exactly the situation we're in if you ask me, I'd love to be wrong but.....

There's plenty of hotels <£100 a short distance from the centre unless you're particularly picky -
Well Sharpe's pretty adamant on a few things in that report, which is quite unlike him....... Has Mark Fotheringham been mentioned at all in relation to our job? Said he wants to manage an English club in recent reports.....cheap, contract at Hertha expired - some boxes being ticked and I bet he's applied. Xabi Alonso? Recently left Real Sociedad B and has a promotion on his CV.

SV Lippstadt 08 certainly weren't rolling in cash when he took them up a few divisions 🤣 He signed players like Krul and Pukki on free transfers for Norwich, plenty of loan deals and various youth players promoted. Of course he made a few signings, an open chequebook he most certainly did not have though!
-
If you look at the squad he inherited at Norwich, and the one he got promoted the season after, the most noticeable difference is that he promoted youth talent such as Aarons, Cantwell, Lewis, Godfrey. If the powers that be are aware of this they'd unanimously want him on board, as close to a perfect fit as we're likely to find....

Pretty obvious the sales are on their arse if they're scrambling about thinking of promotional activity now. For what it's worth, most lads I know are more than happy to renew IF we get the right manager in soon. The likelihood is they would do anyway though, there's just less sense of urgency. Doesn't take a rocket scientist to fathom out that people are watching the pennies a bit more and prioritising. Loads of our fans will be getting that family holiday paid off first, after 2 years without for the most part.

I've watched bits of the UAE pro league, purely for betting purposes. Honestly, there's lads on here who would walk in most teams, its utterly terrible. If Carvalhal want's to go there to make a decent wedge for a years 'work' that's on him, I don't think you can really blame our recruitment process for that. It's quite simple - his decision is purely financial. His track record for time spent at clubs is pretty alarming if you ask me. Good work if you can get it mind......
-
I'm not so sure I believe those rumours to be honest. There's an argument both were waiting to see what league we were in, and/or if they got any better offers from elsewhere. As far as we know there hasn't been much talk of offers coming to fruition. Unless Mowbray is a bare faced liar (possible tbf) he had a good relationship with both, not so sure on Rothwell as he seemed to like having sly digs at him, plus I think he definitely wanted out himself.
-
Not sure how much to read into the UAE links. Their pro league isn't exactly littered with respectable managers. For the most part it just seems to be nobodies or ex players like Rebrov managing the teams. Obviously money talks but I'd like to think Carvalhal had a bit more about him than to just go there for the cash.
-
Good chance Critchley will be bookies favourite by close of play today now and people will think its a done deal 😆 Mowbray leaving really has brought a lot of desperate ITK willy waving about, that alone is a key reason I hope we have someone in place by the end of the week (not confident of that mind). Suppose they'll then move over to the transfer thread though.....roll on the new season.

I see Jon Dahl Tomasson is being linked with the QPR job quite heavily as well as Ainsworth. Quite an interesting one, maybe thinking its a Graham Potter-esque appointment after his time at Malmo. I'm sure Chaddy must have mentioned him on the 8th May at 14:30 but I haven't noticed his name being linked with us at all.

The pitch will probably be ok this year depending in the weather. The world cup break will allow for a maintenance period which should help massively. Obviously can't prepare for an absolute bucket of water like the Preston game but I'm confident it'll be in better shape this season overall. I'm not defending anyone, just an observation.
-
Surprised how many of our fans think they'll be a solid team next season and bounce back. They've got a similar sized rebuilding job to us with all the players leaving, arguably even more so depending if the likes of Pope get snapped up which he surely will. Some deluded dingles think they're set to get over 20m for McNeil too 🤣 See what kinda kitty Pace gives their new gaffer, I'm pretty sure it's not gonna be overly big though! Still they have a cat A academy to fall back on don't they? Oh wait.... League one next you horrible lot 😁

I hate the prem to be honest and rarely follow it, that was an epic final day though from start to finish. Thought it was naive/stupid of Burnley to line up like they did and play hoofball to Cornet, 1 shot on target first half spoke volumes in a game they needed to be winning. Played better after the Cornet goal though and honestly thought the draw was on at the point Leeds were also drawing. That Harrison goal got the party in full swing though 🥳

Swag will already be counting the pennies from fleecing a big Sunderland following when we play them. Glad they did it tbf it's a good away day and quite frankly Wycombe isn't.

It's a little odd isn't it, because Alan Pace promised to revolutionise their youth setup with state of the art scouting methods. What actually transpired was an app for kids to send in clips of them dribbling and doing kickups.
