Hell fire, we grumble about our pitch sometimes but that Coventry pitch is absolutely horrific especially in August! They're going to struggle to recover that now this season it looks like it needs a complete re-seed which would mean not using it for a while.

Buckley has been a slow burner, taken him a bit of time to make the transition from youth level football to the rigours of the championship. He now looks as comfortable as anyone though and will be a real asset this season, aided by a manager who (hopefully) won't piss about with his position. Could be a similar story with Vale I feel, there's less space, less time on the ball and ultimately less chances at championship level, any player needs to adapt they need patience from the manager and fans though and it can be frustrating at times.

Looks like Vydra ain't signing a new deal down the road, wonder how much he's after? More than our 4 buttons and a Netflix subscription wage structure I guess, but he'll do a job at this level for someone.

The tickets are too expensive, end of. But is there literally anything that's not going up in price at the moment? A football club still has to balance the books and their running costs will be at an all time high. Even getting staff through the door will be a nightmare. I know first hand the difficulties getting temp staff right now, which all their catering staff will be for example. They can pick and choose jobs and the ones paying higher get the staff right now simple as that. We the fans want to make the signings, we want to pay the star players more, yet we want to pay less for tickets. Something has to give. Not defending them as such, just looking at it from both sides.

Playing where he did, Vale will simply be judged on either goals or assists I'm afraid, no matter how many 'link ups' he has under his belt. Not criticism at all, just how 99% of football fans will view it. I've already backed him to both play and score at Swansea earlier in the thread too....

If Barnsley are prepared to sell Helik for that, they have another good (Danish) centre half who they'd let go even cheaper 🤔 I find it odd no English teams have come in for Helik, unless they have and he's got no interest in remaining in this country...

Your post is just wildly inaccurate then if you think he's been signed based on 10 games

You've either conveniently or mistakenly missed out the part where those 10 good games were when hes was moved to play centrally, where he scored plenty of goals previously. He wasn't being utilised effectively prior to that clearly!

Szmodics has had a pre season and played 80 mins for Posh last weekend whereas Dack has barely played.... Why should we have a mard ass approach with everything involving Dack?

Erm why? No reason he won't be getting regular game time at Ewood. He didn't get a full pre season under his belt, did you expect him to be risked at the weekend? We weren't chasing a goal either, had we been then he may well have featured. People are in a flap because he allegedly didn't wave at someone in the crowd and his missus said "he's ready to play". Let's scrap our medical team and get some bint in to make the calls on player fitness as well whilst we're at it 👍

It's such a pig to get to. It's just about do-able by train for around 120 quid, almost 5 hour journey each way and a mad dash after the game to get the the station which is about a 30 min walk

It's a bit stupid, presumptuous and narrow minded to start bleating on about Szmodics signing spelling the end for Dack at the club. Whether we like it or not there's still question marks over Dacks fitness, even if it is at a decent level it's highly unlikely he goes all season injury free. Last season we were crying out for a Dack type to chip in, we didn't have one, which resulted in added pressure and expectations on the man himself when returning from injury. Having Szmodics on board means we can be more cautious with Dack, we can take less risks and we aren't throwing all our eggs in a Dack shaped basket.
