  1. Its not a must win game, thats a ridiculous statement given how many games are left to play and the erratic form of quite frankly most teams in the league/country! It most certainly is a "must play 10 times better than Tuesday" game for TM or he's going to lose a lot more sympathisers. If he's going to insist on playing Gallagher then play 442 and have either JRC/Chapman/Elliott at least getting some crosses in the box. If he lines up the same as Tuesday night there's a fair chance of the remote getting launched through the TV.
  2. I think TM will (rather foolishly) pretty much write this one off, he won't risk bringing players back into the team and just wants to get to the international break now and hope for better luck on the injury front when we return. I'm in 2 minds whether to even watch it if I'm being honest although the fact we're grounded again from today probably means I will. We will however win this game 3-0.
  3. Does Mowbray know something we don't? Just said the lockdown can't come quick enough ? then back peddled. Didn't realise how many backroom staff we had isolating either, all these things add up.
  4. Ironically if we'd have defended like that all season and put bodies on the line we'd be top 6. We have an inability to get the balance right and its frustrating big time. Pears to be fair did some good bits today, but also some bad ones and will feel a lot more confident with kaminski back. Trybull looked much better and got block after block in, it comes as no surprise he then goes and gets injured. Another huge blow with Williams crocked too we just can't get a break ? We're essentially just treading water now till we get some more quality players back fit, as much as I hate him Cook basically just said the same, we need this international break big time.
  5. Lots of negativity about and people writing us off tomorrow. All this does is point to a home win for me. I hate international breaks but we need this next one and need to hobble over the line till then.
  6. Looks like he's returning going off the official Twitter...........
  7. We have been unlucky with injuries granted, but when that happens you adopt your formation and your tactics to suit. Mowbray is, and always will be, a stubborn bugger. He's adamant this new 'Liverpool' formation is the future of our club and will play it no matter what. In principle I do like it, I also think it can work, but only when we have a fully fit squad to pick from. If you're leaking goals like there's no tomorrow there's no shame in getting 2 solid banks of 4 in there and make us hard to beat. Little niggles seem to be taking too long to recover from too.
  8. Its a bit early to write Pears off ain't it? Alright he let 4 goals in but they most certainly weren't all his fault. Of course I'd much rather Kaminski start but it is what it is. I'm more concerned that so early in his Ewood career Ayala is already missing games through injury. Is it bad luck or have we signed a crock certain people warned us about? Not expecting much on Saturday which the way this season is going means we will win convincingly.
  9. Sounds like Kaminski won't make it on Saturday ffs. Wouldn't be surprised if a few more players start showing 'symptoms' either so expect a patched up team, again.
  10. Doesn't seem focused at all. Could be various reasons for that but I agree he needs a spell on the sidelines for his own good as well as the teams.
  11. Massively frustrating, again. Once again we've played a midweek game, been decent in patches to be fair, but once again the opposition looked like they would probably score whenever required! Its ok trying to mimic Liverpool Tony, but you ain't doing that with suicidal defending. We desperately need Ayala back, and back for a good run of games. There's just no organisation from the back whatsoever, that was worsened tonight with an unwanted change to the keeper, but can't really be too harsh on him. Not many coming away from that game with a great deal of credit apart from Adam Armstrong. A shame to be on the losing side after 2 great goals, interestingly goals that came from great crosses. Food for thought with Douglas fully up to speed and pinging balls into the box. For me that's the main reason Nyambe isn't playing as well. JRC is a much better crosser of the ball, BUT Nyambe is the much better defender and defending is ultimately a right backs main job. On another note I can't believe a player hasn't started due to a 'bad back' - hopefully just a poor description used there or its ridiculous. Maybe it'll do a few players good being brought back down to earth, not sure. If its any consolation I think we'll at least draw vs Swansea such are our levels of inconsistency.
  12. We need to score early on or it may well be a long and disappointing night. IF we do though we should win comfortably, I think some people are talking Reading up a bit too much, yes they've had some good results and rightly top of the league this far, but I look at their squad and think there probably 1 or 2 players I'd take off them that's it.
  13. No or he would have cost around the same as Watkins when he was deemed the finished article, that's the point I'm making.
  14. Possibly not but Brereton came from Nottingham Forest and had been around the England youth setup where he shone. Watkins came from Exeter with experience playing for Weston-super-Mare, its a bit different but fair play to them on that one. I suspect the general concensus at Brockhall is that they're trying to develop him rather than 'carry' him. I concede thats taken longer than anyone would have liked, be that through poor coaching, lack of ability or purely lack of confidence i don't really know. If he plays like he did yesterday for 20+ games this season he becomes a 20m+ player and the 'carrying' pays dividends - it would be far too premature to say that's going to happen yet obviously but fingers crossed!
  15. Yes, at which stage he wasn't the finished article
  16. Watford are an excellent team, even if we'd scored a third, they would have got a fourth and so on. They will win many many games by a 1 goal margin this season. Again look at the stats vs Bournemouth yesterday, completely dominated but unfortunately for them the cherries found a way through in the 96th minute.
  17. So just draw 30m out and sign Ollie Watkins instead next time yeah?
  18. I can. Fans. Bearing in mind this is a young fella who's played most of his better days at u19/20 level where he stood out as brilliant. Of course he needs to get over that stage fright if he wants to really progress, but as it stands, its doing him wonders for him without the added pressure.
  19. JRC offers more for me. And the Brereton #1 fan status on here continues to flourish for my good self. What a marvellous day.
  20. As much as I'm a Travis fan, he wouldn't have done much to change this game I feel. The left side was obviously weak, this hopefully gets addressed on Saturday when Douglas starts. A daft OG, I know the biased rovers commentary said it was unfortunate, but for me it was plain stupid. A shite penalty more than a good save, these things cost us tonight big time, our midfield 3 massively outplayed their midfield 3.
  21. Lots of positives but obvious negatives too. Elliotts passing looks an absolute class above. Holtby looks a different player completely, his fitness levels look to have gone up 2 or 3 gears. Hopefully Ben kicks on from a quality goal, his driving run second half when he got brought down was classy and something he needs to continue to do more of. I guess this is why Watford will be up there come the end of the season, although more clinical finishing will cause them issues. We really do need a win at weekend though now or could end up stuck in a rut. Its a shame this exact squad wasn't in place from the start of the season, I have no doubt it will get better and better when they all gel.
  22. Jesus its so depressing on here. People cream themselves over Elliott signing but sulk when he plays over Dolan. Bell will be playing because, well look how much football Douglas has played in the past year, he will be starting before Bell before long.
  23. Yeah I'm feeling a bit similar to this. Never seen optimism like this (certainly not a complaint mind!) for a long time. I imagine the Forest camp is also pretty optimistic too with the new gaffer on board. Just hope if things don't quite go to plan today we don't see a massive knee jerk reaction. The difference right now is pretty much every player on that pitch for us today knows if he doesn't shape up, there's someone in the squad to take their place.
  24. Right switch all the phones off at Ewood now, not having anyone coming in with last minute bids for our prized assets. It's slightly premature to say so as they haven't even all played for us yet, but on paper at least, this has to be the best transfer window in a very, very long time. Still walking a bit of a tightrope keeping Armstrong fit all season, although that worry eases slightly with Dack back playing (and hopefully scoring).
