  1. They might be everywhere but they’re still illegal and possession at or on the way to a football game can get you a prison sentence. So Rovers could be liable for fines, stadium closures etc if they don’t do anything. I don’t think you need flares for a good atmosphere anyway.
  2. We're now up to exactly half of the next round of EFL fixtures postponed, with still three days to go.......
  3. Still three days to go so plenty of time for more cases to appear.
  4. Would you be so determined to see games played if it was Rovers who were 2/3 games behind come Monday? Clearly plenty of clubs can't cope at the moment with one a week. As arbitro says it won't be long before the integrity of the competition will suffer.
  5. Presumably PNE's game at West Brom next Thursday will be looking very doubtful then. I can't help thinking that pretty soon this is really going to mess up the league. By 3rd January some teams will be 3/4 games behind others. It might be great for any teams that manage to get their games played particularly whilst they're in good form like us but it can't be good for the game as a whole.
  6. Presumably whichever team is affected will lose their midweek game as well. Any team which gets cases in the next day or two runs a big risk of having their next three games postponed.
  7. No one can have gone from Ewood - we’re currently banned from France.
  8. It seems to me that we are blessed with an overabundance of talent in the Academy right now. The success of the under 18 team has led to a number pushing for experience at under 23s. They can only get this if the incumbents give way. Allowing them to go out on short term loans gives them some real like experience in matches that matter whilst allowing a youngster to have a go at the next level. There's also a case that a month long loan means that the player can be back quickly if the club needs him.
  9. The Welsh Government have just done it without the Senedd sitting. Waiting until Westminster resumes will be far, far too late.
  10. You're right - I was confusing the two weekend schedules.
  11. We are currently exactly half way through the season - way too soon to be making predictions one way or the other.
  12. I would be very wary of underestimating Hull - they have been on decent form of late and gave Forest a good game on Saturday. They are on an upward trajectory compared to Big Club who are heading the other way. Whilst not complaining about Fulham losing I am always of the view that when two rivals play (and at least half of the league still are) then a draw is always the best result. The Blades have won four in a row now.
  13. Apart from the 3 posts above then? Anyway I would have thought that discussing the likelihood or not of matches going behind closed doors was a relevant one for the attendances thread. Covid was clearly a factor in Saturday’s attendance figure.
  14. Funny, I thought I was more than safe last weekend, but I seem to have caught it. How the hell did that happen? If the Government tells the PL and EFL to shut grounds they will Anyway shutting football grounds isn’t lockdown.
  15. There’s no potentially about it - Fulham don’t play until Monday. We just need to win by 18 clear goals to be clear on top….
  16. Changing the law does and I can’t see that happening before next week as the Government are absolutely desperate to avoid any new restrictions before Christmas. But presumably they could just ask the PL and EFL to close grounds to fans ahead of a law change and it would be almost impossible for them not to.
  17. It’s pretty difficult to argue against though Chaddy. Given the current numbers it is hard to see how you can justify letting thousands of people gather together in close proximity plus all the associated non essential travel. I know you will argue it’s safe because it’s outside but everyone spends a couple of hours right next to a lot of people many of whom are shouting and singing. There also appears to be some evidence building that Omicron is more infectious than previous variants in outdoor settings as it hangs around in the air longer.
  18. That was the original Wimbledon before they moved to Milton Keynes. AFC Wimbledon were only founded in 2002.
  19. It must be a late decision then as Sky still have it red button on their website.
  20. Fair enough although before my positive test I had already decided not to go.
  21. Yes we were. But Khadra had had a poor game, unable to get involved and as a result we were finding it hard to keep possession higher up the pitch. Gallagher came on playing wide right and was a constant outlet, keeping hold of the ball and relieving any pressure on the defence. If led to Rovers seeing the game out very comfortably. Some times you need to make adjustments depending on the circumstances on the day and no team can get promoted based just on a first choice eleven.
  22. I’m not sure it’s a last minute decision Gav. The damn Sky contract allows them to show any game not at 3pm on Saturday. Although I notice that the home game with Barnsley isn’t listed as red button yet anyway.
  23. Eh? I only said the chance to watch Rovers on the red button will cheer me up at the end of my 10 day self-isolation. It's hardly on a comment on Covid is it?
