  1. That's right. A bottle was thrown on to the pitch just missing Samba. Johnson threw it back quite forcefully and hit a photographer. I doubt it did any damage but if it had hit a spectator all hell could have broken loose. Of course it wouldn't have happened at all if the bottle hadn't come out of the Blackburn End in the first place.
  2. Bear in mind that, despite the game being live on Sky Arena, it will also be available on Rovers TV to both UK and International fans for the usual £10 or in your subscription if you have one.
  3. When rival teams play each other a draw is nearly always the best result as it will be with these two games.
  4. Give over. We have played one home game in more than 5 weeks and there has been plenty of dry weather in that time. There's rain forecast for tonight but it's looking dry all day tomorrow.
  5. The normal plan they follow for players returning from a long term injury is 3 games for the under 23s playing 45, 60 and 90 minutes. Dack still needs a 90 minute game yet on that formula. But I guess it’s possible that he might make an exception for Davk.
  6. Err no. The quickest way to Swansea would normally be on the M4 from Newport after the M50, except today obviously.
  7. Well Naughton was substituted after 22 minutes so presumably an injury.
  8. He was listed as a sub in the post I quoted.
  9. Hasn’t Butterworth gone to Fleetwood?
  10. Eh? At one stage on Saturday there were 7 Academy players on the pitch at Luton. Even with that level of success most players coming through will not make it at Championship level, so inevitably players move on. Many will make a career lower down the pyramid, the odd one will go right to the top and a few will hopefully form the core of our first team as they are now, helping us to compete with teams with much bigger financial resources. The current under 18 crop are looking very promising right now.
  11. I know that Bournemouth have signed players but they’re still only allowed to play 11 at a time and I think it’s a distinct advantage when they all know each others’ names.
  12. It’s two more for both Van Hecke and Lenihan.
  13. I’d be happy with Gilles Peterson.
  14. As I pointed out earlier in the thread Rovers have indeed never won at Kenilworth Rd in the league. We have just the 4-0 FA Cup win in 2007. I thought Ayala’s appearance was both attacking and defensive. Shove him up front and see if he can cause some chaos but also have him as an extra defender if Luton get the chance to throw some balls in the box as they did with three corners and a free kick near the end.
  15. I’m sat at Stratford International waiting for the train from that there London to Luton. Kenilworth Road is a new ground for me and I’m hoping to see history made with a first ever Rovers win in the league.
  16. Van Hecke is further away on 6 currently, along with Diaz. Buckley and Travis have 7 each.
  17. Won 2-1 and into the quarter finals.
  18. He's averaging one every 3.5 games so far, so probably not.
  19. New dictionary definitions: - Gladiator - an unrepentant canniball. Me too Mike.
  20. A woman walks into a pet shop. "I would like to buy that parrot you have in the window. How much is it?" "£5 madam." "£5! That's cheap. What's wrong with it?" "Well, it used to live in a brothel so I'm afraid it knows quite a lot of bad language". The woman thinks about it for a while and then says, "well, for £5 I'll take it". She gets it home and takes the cover off the cage. The parrot immediately says "You're new, a bit old but quite good looking". Her daughter comes in and the parrot says "You're new as well, very nice, you'll do well". Her husband walks in and the parrot says "Hello again Derek".
  21. I think that he's averaged 4 yellow cards a game in his 16 games so far, but only one red. Lenihan is on 8 yellow cards so two more for a two game suspension. I'm not sure when the next cut-off is but I doubt we're there yet.
  22. Well no, because the players believing they can get a better deal elsewhere doesn't mean that there are actually better offers out there. Maybe what they have found is that what Rovers are offering is actually what they are worth. None of us knows one way or the other. My understanding in all three cases is that it is their agents who are advising the players not to sign. Now that might be because they believe that there are better offers but if that was the reality would they not be nearer the door? It is clearly the agent's job to get the best financial deal for their player but it's also in the agent's interest to encourage movement. It could simply be that not signing allows the agent and player to test the market. Maybe they will decide to sign at the last minute - unlikely now. Maybe they will just run their contract down and look again for next season - probably attractive as the chance of a big promotion bonus is there if they stay until May. Whatever, it looks like the club are determined not to let them go unless someone comes up with a completely daft bid at the last minute. I can't see it but maybe someone like Newcastle are daft enough.
