  1. I don't know but would imagine that it is due to the difficulty of getting stock out of China at the moment.
  2. It was good to see Lancs brought home by three local lads, Lamb (Preston), Hartley (Ormskirk) and Gleeson (Blackpool).
  3. I never liked Led Zeppelin I remember turning down the chance to see them at the SU at Sheffield in 71/71? when a student there in favour of seeing Lindisfarne at the City Hall. But I have really enjoyed most of the stuff Robert Plant has done since and particularly the stuff with Alison Krauss. A few years back on a short break to Belfast we were sat having hotel breakfast when a bunch of long haired men walked in and I turned to my wife and said that bloke doesn't half look like Robert Plant. On closer inspection and looking up that the band had played in town the night before I realised it was him. I left him alone though!
  4. I hope you haven't set off Gav as it's sold out.
  5. A bad shift pattern led to me failing to get to see Jacqui Abbot and Paul Heaton at this year's Glastonbury. As per my usual pattern I get to see less and less music every year I go, and have a better time. This year was particularly bad for not being able to see the acts I wanted to catch (Robert Plant & Alison Krauss), Kasey Musgraves, Pheobe Bridges & Elbow*) and covid deprived me of Richard Thompson. But I still caught Kae Tempest, First Aid Kit, Herbie Hancock, Lorde and most joyous of all Self Esteem. * Elbow were less of an issue as I'm seeing them at Lytham next Thursday anyway.
  6. I retired from a senior HR role 17 years ago and I had been using recruitment companies for middle management roles upwards for at least 15 years before.
  7. The point Steve was making there was that he would not be able to mail many previous ST orders because the club don’t have permission to contact them due to the GDPR rules.
  8. Lancashire show that there is more than one way to skin a run chase. The highest score of the game to beat Warwickshire.
  9. In other news Lancashire's new boy Will Williams has just ripped through Warwickshire's middle order with 3 wickets leaving them on 95-5 and 101 ahead.
  10. I think they might have hired the lad that Leicestershire used the night before.....
  11. Very comfortable win tonight for Lancs, although they were a bit fortunate getting away with a few lazy slog shots. It was nice of Leicestershire to let am A level media studies student operate the camera.
  12. Further important information from Parkinson's call up just as he comes out to bat, again from TMS. Apparently he had just fired up his barbecue ready for the Lancashire lads coming round to his place when he got the call.
  13. Apparently he did drive down. Top stat of the day from TMS - he's the first player to stop at Keele services whilst playing in a test match.
  14. He may well have worked in India before but he moved from South Africa to work on the Rovers purchase. I've seen him around Ewood a few times but I don't know the detail of what he does other than being the conduit between the Ewood staff and the owners.
  15. He could just have jumped on a train in just over two hours. However he got there he's there now. He still might be batting before 6.30.
  16. NZ have been in poor form for months, having lost a series in India (no shame in that) but then tests at home to South Africa and Bangladesh. Kane Williamson has been out injured for most of our Winter and only arrived in England at the weekend after the IPL and some paternity leave and no red ball cricket at all.
  17. If he has been a driver it's in the same as I was formerly a driver. I drove a van for a year after University before two careers ending up in a senior role. Before the Raos decided to buy Rovers he was running their business in South Africa.
  18. No it isn’t. They are playing Birmingham Bears on 3/7 at OT.
  19. I think it's an experiment to see how the crowds go putting the men's game at 3pm and the women's at 7pm rather than the other way round. Obviously they're trying it on a day when the schools are off and I imagine a lot of people are off work as it's only a 3 day week. Friday's games are the other way round.
  20. The YouTube coverage is decent, although the commentary can be one-sided if you just have home commentators as last night. I'll be there this afternoon too Den.
  21. No, but it's half term and only a 3 day working week...........
  22. The club did say the game was a sell out yesterday. Earlier in the week I had a look and there were about 250 spare seats and there did seem to be some gaps around. Mind you the 6 seats in front of me were full for the first innings and not for the second. Considering how animated they had been I guess they had just moved, maybe to the party stand? That did look a bit more than full. Probably a lot of demand as the stand was reduced as it has to be taken down for the upcoming concerts.
  23. It was pretty good in the cheap seats underneath you Gav as well.
  24. Maybe not that surprising as he is from Birmingham. In any event he's likely to be playing for England quite often.
  25. For the avoidance of doubt I agree that Jake has shown tremendous courage in coming out. My post above was in response to others saying that they had not heard of him. That probably applies to the vast majority of football fans, including me. There’s no chance that this was pre-emptive to a tabloid sting.
