  1. They’re getting there Dom. the feeding was a bit problematic for a while but now she’s guzzling like there’s no tomorrow. Just need to crack being asleep all day and awake all night. Hopefully the house move should be a bit easier now we have sorted through a lot of stuff already. They are only moving about 400 yards away.
  2. We’ve had a few wobbles in the first few days - an infection which has kept Mum and baby in hospital still and a couple of challenging nights but it looks like they’re coming home tomorrow. In the meantime Dad and I have been clearing stuff out of their one bed flat to make some baby space- they should have been in a new house by now but it’s been delayed from March to now end is September. Humping stuff to storage has been a warm job in 30 degrees today.
  3. It’s the other way round JHRover. (Confusingly I typed it wrong in my initial post). They were originally Hartlepools United. In 1969 three towns, Hartlepool, West Hartlepool and Hart merged to make Hartlepool Borough and the team also became Hartlepool to match. Then, in 1977, the team brought back United so their official name is Hartlepool United. That’s why it’s older fans who remember them as Hartlepools.
  4. After a long wait, having to take the IVF route, the pandemic getting in the way, having to go private and then a miscarriage my wonderful daughter-in-law delivered a beautiful granddaughter late last night and we have just managed to meet Alina now. Quite a weekend to arrive with her team at the top of the table. It will be her team despite living within walking distance of West Ham’s ground.
  5. Just googled it Mike, whilst sat in the labour ward in Newham General (see the Good News thread shortly). the team was originally Hartlepool United until in 1968 a new borough of Hartlepool was created and the team dropped both the s and United. Then they added United back in 1977..
  6. I doubt Joe’ll have it on -he’ll probably be watching the hurling.
  7. Does the club have the resources to both film and provide a commentary for two games at once?
  8. It’s probable that, like Rovers, they charge less for midweek games.
  9. Whilst I can see the logic in this it does mean that most fans aren’t going to be able to attend the under 21 games.
  10. To be fair Rovers will be charging a maximum £30 for away fans this season unless they come up with some multi-game packages to allow them to charge more in the away end. It's straightforward for Rovers to charge £20 for away fans for the home game with Reading, as it's a Wednesday night in March so will be a Cat C game for everyone.
  11. My point wasn’t whether strikes are an inconvenience or not - clearly they are for anyone affected. But just about nobody would have been inconvenienced in getting by train to Ewood yesterday.
  12. There weren’t any strikes which affected Blackburn yesterday - Northern, TPE and Avanti West Coast were all working normally. There might have been a few QPR fans who might have struggled to get from London suburbs to Euston but it would be very marginal.
  13. I’m pretty sure that the turnstile flashes a different colour when a concession card or ticket is presented. That of course then relies on the steward being prepared to challenge anyone who uses a concession and is obviously not a child or a senior, which is a big ask of the young inexperienced stewards.
  14. That's just asking for him to score against us next week. Bristol City were seriously unlucky yesterday. Hull City's penalty equaliser was just ridiculous and then they won it with a 93rd minutes deflection.
  15. The second challenge was much earlier than that - my guess about 25 minutes in and not that long after the first. The first challenge was Buckley being fouled by Dykes - the ref played an advantage that petered out almost straightaway - the ref could have brought play back then but didn't. Moments later Buckley jumped into Dykes in retaliation. Both bookings but had the ref stopped play at the first the second wouldn't have happened.
  16. It was simple Bazza. In the 30s my grandad had enough spare cash for either the BBMS bus or the ticket in to the game, but not both. So he walked. The first time I went to Ewood, some time in the early 60s, it was on the BBMS bus with my uncle. He lived in a house on Station Road right next to the bus depot. It was the first time I had stayed away from home in the country and the first time I had slept with street lights.
  17. As stated in the FF minutes 7,800 STs = £2.25m, not £3.11m. PNE’s number will also be much less than £3.64m. You’re just taking a headline figure and not accounting for concessions.
  18. Given the minutes have been signed off from last Monday's meeting (18th) and will be on the site very soon I can confirm that the figure we got at the meeting was 7,800. That is just bought tickets, so excludes any comps that have been allocated and I guess that could explain the difference between that and Goozburger's calculations. I assume that the club's various sponsors get comps allocated as well as club employees, players etc.
  19. In most business circles appointing a senior manager and getting him to join in the following month would be regarded as very prompt.
  20. If you mean the guy in the Rovers shirt and white jacket that's not Birdy.
  21. Whist the club will have input it will be Macron that lead the design process.
  22. Can I give some clarity regarding the supply of this season's shirts. Given the issues with supply of goods from China since the pandemic a first small batch were air freighted so that the club had some stock to sell early. The main stock was sent by sea. They have arrived in the UK and are currently having all the logos added and they should be back at Ewood on Friday, although that date could slip a day or two.
  23. My grandad used to walk from Bamber Bridge to Ewood to games in the 30s. He lived into his 90s.
  24. Really? I had no problem Matt. I had my ticket booked for nowt by 10.30 on Monday. Now I have to decide whether to bail out on a family trip to Bristol next weekend to go to Finals Day. I’m already missing half of it for the England v India one dayer at Old Trafford the day after.
