  1. The second challenge was much earlier than that - my guess about 25 minutes in and not that long after the first. The first challenge was Buckley being fouled by Dykes - the ref played an advantage that petered out almost straightaway - the ref could have brought play back then but didn't. Moments later Buckley jumped into Dykes in retaliation. Both bookings but had the ref stopped play at the first the second wouldn't have happened.
  2. It was simple Bazza. In the 30s my grandad had enough spare cash for either the BBMS bus or the ticket in to the game, but not both. So he walked. The first time I went to Ewood, some time in the early 60s, it was on the BBMS bus with my uncle. He lived in a house on Station Road right next to the bus depot. It was the first time I had stayed away from home in the country and the first time I had slept with street lights.
  3. As stated in the FF minutes 7,800 STs = £2.25m, not £3.11m. PNE’s number will also be much less than £3.64m. You’re just taking a headline figure and not accounting for concessions.
  4. Given the minutes have been signed off from last Monday's meeting (18th) and will be on the site very soon I can confirm that the figure we got at the meeting was 7,800. That is just bought tickets, so excludes any comps that have been allocated and I guess that could explain the difference between that and Goozburger's calculations. I assume that the club's various sponsors get comps allocated as well as club employees, players etc.
  5. In most business circles appointing a senior manager and getting him to join in the following month would be regarded as very prompt.
  6. If you mean the guy in the Rovers shirt and white jacket that's not Birdy.
  7. Whist the club will have input it will be Macron that lead the design process.
  8. Can I give some clarity regarding the supply of this season's shirts. Given the issues with supply of goods from China since the pandemic a first small batch were air freighted so that the club had some stock to sell early. The main stock was sent by sea. They have arrived in the UK and are currently having all the logos added and they should be back at Ewood on Friday, although that date could slip a day or two.
  9. My grandad used to walk from Bamber Bridge to Ewood to games in the 30s. He lived into his 90s.
  10. Really? I had no problem Matt. I had my ticket booked for nowt by 10.30 on Monday. Now I have to decide whether to bail out on a family trip to Bristol next weekend to go to Finals Day. I’m already missing half of it for the England v India one dayer at Old Trafford the day after.
  11. I don't know but would imagine that it is due to the difficulty of getting stock out of China at the moment.
  12. It was good to see Lancs brought home by three local lads, Lamb (Preston), Hartley (Ormskirk) and Gleeson (Blackpool).
  13. I never liked Led Zeppelin I remember turning down the chance to see them at the SU at Sheffield in 71/71? when a student there in favour of seeing Lindisfarne at the City Hall. But I have really enjoyed most of the stuff Robert Plant has done since and particularly the stuff with Alison Krauss. A few years back on a short break to Belfast we were sat having hotel breakfast when a bunch of long haired men walked in and I turned to my wife and said that bloke doesn't half look like Robert Plant. On closer inspection and looking up that the band had played in town the night before I realised it was him. I left him alone though!
  14. I hope you haven't set off Gav as it's sold out.
  15. A bad shift pattern led to me failing to get to see Jacqui Abbot and Paul Heaton at this year's Glastonbury. As per my usual pattern I get to see less and less music every year I go, and have a better time. This year was particularly bad for not being able to see the acts I wanted to catch (Robert Plant & Alison Krauss), Kasey Musgraves, Pheobe Bridges & Elbow*) and covid deprived me of Richard Thompson. But I still caught Kae Tempest, First Aid Kit, Herbie Hancock, Lorde and most joyous of all Self Esteem. * Elbow were less of an issue as I'm seeing them at Lytham next Thursday anyway.
  16. I retired from a senior HR role 17 years ago and I had been using recruitment companies for middle management roles upwards for at least 15 years before.
  17. The point Steve was making there was that he would not be able to mail many previous ST orders because the club don’t have permission to contact them due to the GDPR rules.
  18. Lancashire show that there is more than one way to skin a run chase. The highest score of the game to beat Warwickshire.
  19. In other news Lancashire's new boy Will Williams has just ripped through Warwickshire's middle order with 3 wickets leaving them on 95-5 and 101 ahead.
  20. I think they might have hired the lad that Leicestershire used the night before.....
  21. Very comfortable win tonight for Lancs, although they were a bit fortunate getting away with a few lazy slog shots. It was nice of Leicestershire to let am A level media studies student operate the camera.
  22. Further important information from Parkinson's call up just as he comes out to bat, again from TMS. Apparently he had just fired up his barbecue ready for the Lancashire lads coming round to his place when he got the call.
  23. Apparently he did drive down. Top stat of the day from TMS - he's the first player to stop at Keele services whilst playing in a test match.
  24. He may well have worked in India before but he moved from South Africa to work on the Rovers purchase. I've seen him around Ewood a few times but I don't know the detail of what he does other than being the conduit between the Ewood staff and the owners.
