  1. Mowbray paid £500k for him - and then he tore his hamstring on his debut. If he had any pace, it was gone after that. I'd like to see him as a #10 - I'm not even sure he's a L1 wide player.
  2. I thought we played fantastically today - I was disgusted that so few Rovers fans remained to clap the players off at full time. They simply had better players and a referee that was determined not to give us anything. We were the better team on the day.
  3. Kompany (and co) simply hasn't bought players that are good enough for the PL. I saw their goal against Wolves - it's suicidal football to play like that against the sharks of the PL if you don't have supremely talented players. You can get away with mistakes at the back at the Championship level, but the PL is a different beast - did you see how quickly Wolves pounced on the mistake, shifted it twice and slotted it into the back of the net?! They've bought 'tweeners' (players that are too good for the Championship, but not good enough for the PL). A team full of Teemu Pukki's, if you will. And for all that money they're still playing Jay Rodriguez upfront - he's never been good enough.
  4. That's the thing - the game has changed. It's no longer end-to-end at 100mph (for better or worse). I think the players are much better technically now than they were 10-15 years ago, but they're also all put on a creative leash. It's all very much data driven now. Here's an interesting video around the topic:
  5. He also made several very good saves (I think a World Class goalkeeper saves some of those goals, but there's only a handful of those on the planet). My prediction is that he's a good GK and we'll sell him for more than we got for Kaminski.
  6. They'll sell Carter and A. Wharton in the summer - so you're relying on Broughton identifying targets (both at Head Coach and players) and the Venky's not pulling the plug again.
  7. Under, unless you're counting literal touches (he dribbled the ball at one point).
  8. With a bottom third budget - which shows how remarkable a job JDT is doing really.
  9. Much like how I'd tell my teams to shoot on sight in this league, evidently I'd also tell them just to kick the opposition until the referee does something about it.
  10. We don't have any roughhouses in our team. We clearly expect the referee to be competent - but as seen today and against PNE, sometimes they just let literally everything go and there's very little we can do about it.
  11. Not sure if you've watched the game, but we've largely bossed that match. We simply don't have enough fit, quality, players to handle this fixture congestion. We have our starting RB playing on the LW ffs.
  12. Their player on a yellow just pulled back Moran when he was breaking through - ref obviously bottled it. They decide games with their awful decisions.
  13. 75 minutes in - 4 subs by Wednesday, 0 by us. We're doing so well to pick up points in this period.
  14. We desperately need someone else to start consistently hitting the back of the net.
  15. Their #4 elbowed Leonard in the face in the first half. Their grey haired bloke (#13 perhaps? Name begins with P) has been pushing people off the ball all day.
  16. They look tired, which is understandable - it's the third game in a week with no cavalry on the bench.
