  1. I generally have a little weep when watching the players warm up - I used to watch Tugay, McCarthy et al make it look easy. Half of this lot couldn't hit a barn door. My big worry about Leonard is I don't know how clinical a finisher he is - he's athletic enough to make up for his sub 6' frame (and lack of electric pace) and his movement is very good, but he has to take his chances infront of goal. He's missed a few already this season imo.
  2. He's not athletic enough to be a RWB. He's played RB quite well, but you have to adjust your tactics to get the most out of him (hence why they let him drift around the park). He'd be my CM partner for A. Wharton if I was in charge, but I'm not.
  3. How do we watch the same team every week and come to such different conclusions? Besides A. Wharton he's the best natural footballer we have.
  4. Influence the game more then if you're going to have a paddy if you're taken off. His final ball is a disgrace.
  5. Agree to disagree. My head was in my hands when they scored their soft second - I had to walk into the concourse for their penalty cos it was so unjust. I've rarely left Ewood so deflated - we smashed them, but couldn't put three tap ins in the back of the net and they scored with every bloody shot.
  6. Because nobody can consistently put the ball in the back of the opposition's net.
  7. He's going to need time to get up to speed - it's a big jump he's making. That said, JDT persists with Pears in goal despite him being shite, so he's not infallible.
  8. He's been fantastic in his other CM cameos this season. It was a difficult game to come on in as Garrett didn't pull up any trees either - and they were left with Dolan and Markanday as outlets. Zidane would struggle with those two upfront.
  9. He's clearly at the bottom of whatever striker list they drew up in the summer - he's a hopeful punt. He's going to need time to settle in - it's a big jump from where he was playing.
  10. So how would you have improved the team with 15% less wage budget than the previous season whilst also having to generate £5m in transfer fees to keep the lights on?
  11. It should have been 3-0 before the dodgy penalty (he had two chances to even up the score, but didn't blow for the foul on Leonard or Telalovic in the box). We hate Mowbray because he's a morose cunt.
  12. You missed out Markanday - he's a good L2 player that can maybe play in L1. Why he's still here is beyond me.
  13. To be honest I wrote off our playoff chances when the window closed without signing a striker (or another wide player tbh).
  14. Another game where you're shaking your head all the way back to the car in amazement. How did we lose that? Did I hear that stat right - 17 shots in the box? Fuck me.
  15. The match against PNE two years ago should have been postponed - that pitch was unplayable. The pitch failed to recover for months afterwards.
  16. I do wonder if they'll start deploying Leonard out wide until he gains more experience - I think he's going to struggle to lead the line without electric pace / imposing size, but he's a good enough footballer to play at this level.
  17. He didn't do anything wrong, but he didn't stand out. This is the whole point of the loan though - he needs to play 70+ minutes of Championship football every week to see if he can iron out those inconsistencies. He's not getting that chance at Ewood.
  18. No he didn't - he played him as an AML, but their RB (or RWB, I can't recall) was running rampant so Gallagher ended up defending for most of the game.
  19. No. He tracked back both times, but Hoever is thrice the athlete so he couldn't keep up with him.
