https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/25621359.adam-wharton-makes-competitive-england-debut-serbia/ Looks like Wharton has to start a game for England for venkys to get there hands on anymore cash.

Seen Brandon Powell has won the PL2 player of the month. Any regulars tell us more about him? I have seen him play live once, for the under 21's against Man Utd last season the night before we played Burnley away. He stood out to me straight away as one that looked like he could at some point make the step up, he played left back that night and was up and down the line all night comfortable in attack and defence, looked to have decent pace too. Left wing back could be made for him?

Lets hope not, this lot don't deserve to make another penny off Wharton's name.

v Preston North End (a) - 21/11/25
MarkBRFC replied to ...'s topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
As a side we are small, slow and weak. Not sure that can be denied. Alebiousu aside to me we seem slower than last season. People will point at De Neve but I don't really see it. Headless chicken running that is. McLoughlin, Wharton, TGH, Taveres, Miller, Gudjohnson, Cantwell, Tronstad, Hedges etc I think I would give them a decent contest in a foot race in my mid 40's. Derby hardly kicked us off the park, they were more physical and aggressive yes, and they wanted it more. At no point did I think they stepped over the line though. Pace, power and height were the 3 things Ismael said he wanted most in pre season, fair enough if you think he got that. -

Yeah it's hard to see that this fixture, home or away will ever be a Saturday 3pm kick off again. -

Those end blocks only usually go on sale if the rest sells out. Seems like a decent effort though considering TV, form and £30. -

I mean that was 4 seasons ago, we also beat them 1-0 at Ewood when they were in all kinds of trouble. Again though the point stands, we had plenty of senior pro's with experience at this level in those sides. Our current side going up against a side that is so in your face and currently sit 4th in the table worries me. We just won't be able to deal with them. -

Don't think it matters, our lads will get bullied from the first minute to the last against this lot. Only time in recent years Preston haven't run all over us and completely out fought us was last season, because we had a manger who knew the league and a team full of senior pro's who knew how to handle it. This lot are small, weak and slow, and they are showing it against teams like this. -

2-0 Preston, easiest 3 points they will get this season. We just won't be up for the battle as they will be in our faces from the 1st minute. -
Pickering on 15k a week would surprise me. Signed from Crewe on a relative low wage I'm guessing and only had one new contract since.

Sounds familiar to a couple of days prior.

Oh give over Chaddy. Dalglish wouldn't have the first clue what 2025 venkys Blackburn Rovers looks like behind the scenes or what the environment is. He is talking about his memories of the club from 30-35 years ago, if it is even a correct quote.
-
30-35 years ago when Dalglish was here absolutely. I would be surprised if Dalglish is commenting on the here and now though.

Valérien Ismaël: Blackburn Rovers Head Coach

Why would Ismael quit? He will milk this gig for as long as he can because he won't get another at this level. -

No he's on loan for the season, can't imagine they would want to recall him. He also has one of those phantom buy clauses in the loan deal. -

He is probably the next one they are forcing out due to his wages. A bruised ankle doesn't keep anyone out for 6 weeks. Also, VI said he has had a "setback" after the game on Saturday and is less hopeful he is available for PNE unless he completes two full weeks training by then. Something feels off about the whole thing. -
2025-26 Relegation thread
MarkBRFC replied to BRFC4EVA's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Football fans are far too reactionary from one result to the next. Played Southampton and Leicester at perfect times, although Bristol City was a good win. If we had played Southampton yesterday we would have lost. I predicted bottom 6 or so with a chance of going down at the start of the season, and have seen nothing to change my mind otherwise. -

Absolutely, but i think we all had that idea about him anyway when he got the job. -

Don't blame him for not quitting. Easy money working for this lot when you accept anything they want you to do, and let's face it he isn't getting another gig at this level after this. -

Anyone who plays Ryan Hedges at centre half shouldn't be taken seriously ever again. Rubbish this bloke. -

De Neve is one of the poorest footballers I have ever seen. He can run at defenders and fool us into thinking its an asset because its been so long that we have seen anyone do it from that side. -

Another complete embarrassment today, latest in a long line of 15 years of them. Most predictable result of the weekend, our lads just didnt seem to fancy it at all. Second half looked better on the eye, but in reality Eustace will just have told Derby to sit back as he knew there was no way we could hurt them. Eustace must be absolutely howling at this lot, and good on him too. -

Should only ever be venkys and there minions who get flak from us, Derby fans are irrelevant. Said since the fixtures came out and this game fell on the anniversary that nothing good can come of today. Expecting a total embarrassment with all our ex staff and players taking the piss out if us. It will sum up the venkys reign perfectly. -

Rushing Carter back to me seems like desperation for the sake of one game before a two week break. Maybe have him on the bench in case anything else goes wrong. Moving McLoughlin in the middle and bringing Riberio on the left seems more sensible to me. Also think he might go with experience with Forshaw rather than Montgomery from the start, and maybe bring his energy on after an hour. -
