  1. So it would make Elliots article incorrect then? Thought that Andy Watson was the "best in the business" at this sort of thing?!
  2. Didn't say you have. However, Nixons wording plants the seeds in the wider fanbases mind that they are at fault for wanting too much money so we're better off "cashing in".
  3. Yes, which i stated at the start of you quoting me that this is a Nixon story I believe.
  4. We're owned by billionaires, of course we could keep him if we wanted too, however this club doesn't want a certain type of player anymore so I can only presume that we don't really want to keep him. Every player? i didn't say that on De Neve? And it starts, always the players fault.
  5. And we dont sign up existing first team players to new contracts anymore. If we genuinely wanted to keep Travis, I'm pretty sure we could, however as history suggests our offer will be token at best. Some stories Nixon pens I will believe based on historical information available, others i won't. So I can have it both ways.
  6. It's pretty easy to see that history suggests that this one would be correct? He's also getting the spin in that Trav wants more money from Wrexham, all the players fault you know.
  7. Given our history with contract negotiations over the past 18 months, this one probably looks more true than his other stories, no? That doesnt answer the question.
  8. Anyone sensible has seen it all before. Rovers dont want these players anymore when they can be replaced by cheap foreign imports on less than half there wages.
  9. To the surprise of nobody Nixon saying we're "struggling" to do the Travis and Brittain deals πŸ˜‚
  10. JRC was at the time too as he was playing superbly. Easy to look back now and say who was a coup and who wasn't. They all needed renewing at the times they were renewed. Some have worked out, some haven't.
  11. Pears, Carter, Wharton, Pickering, Buckley & JRC. Also Garrett and Leonard if you want to count them as they would both need a squad place allocating this coming season. Travis signed his extension a few months before he joined.
  12. He is also contracted until 2028. I just don't imagine us paying a fee that someone under that length of contract would command.
  13. Initial thoughts are he looks more suited to be a Tronstad replacement.
  14. At a normal club this would be quote plausible. It just doesn't happen here though, as history shows. There is absolutely no point in this club selling a player ever again.
  15. All a smokescreen so the club can then feed to the LET that they "tried" but the players demands were far too much for our poor billionaires to fund. Fully expecting Travis to leave this summer for a small fee, and Tronstad to leave next summer for nothing. Brittain I would put at 60/40 not to sign just based on history.
  16. https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/25233718.brittain-sends-clear-blackburn-message-amid-contract-talks/ Elliot still trying to peddle that Brittain contract talks are "ongoing" with an absolute nothing story about him and his misses appearing on some netball show on Sky. Also a reminder that we haven't renewed any first team player contracts since 8th December 2023, just over 18 months ago.
  17. Batth is worth 2 years for me. I think he has proven he can play in at least 30 championship games this coming season. 26-27, even if he doesn't play as often i imagine he would be invaluable to have around the club and lads, considering every other bit of experience seems to getting pushed out of the club. Weimann with his injury, I can understand the one year offer. I bet we have lowballed him on wages though.
  18. Not sure it's that strange in a meaningless international friendly, all about giving people minutes, maybe they just wanted to give all 3 keepers a bit of game time.
  19. It hasn't worked for the two years prior to last season, so it's fanciful to think it works to any degree next season. ?
  20. I think a lot of that is just moving on with life/getting older etc. What adult with family/work commitments etc has the time or can be arsed to watch every MOTD, Super Sunday, Champions league etc plus going to Ewood every other week, a few aways etc. I certainly don't. But at one time I was exactly the same, but like you don't watch much neutral footy at all these days. It's an interesting thought though about being a kid now, my lad at 15 is absolutely Rovers obsessed, and loves playing too, yet he wouldn't even think of sitting down and watching say Liverpool vs Man City or whatever. He takes in his viewing from short video's on youtube, tiktok or whatever, and loves playing Football Manager and Fifa, if I ask him about most players he will know about them through those means. Even Dion De Neve caught him out though, hadn't a clue who he was!
  21. He will qualify for a work permit. We only have one ESC slot available, presuming Ohashi now qualifies due to his minutes last season.
