To be fair, no club ever gives official details of failed bids for players so you can't really blame them for not updating us on Kapaudi. Same with Brittain, only word from the club will be when he goes. I imagine there will be a name or two thrown out by Nixon/Elliot this week to distract the fanbase though, it's how we operate.

They did the exact same thing last pre season so it's no real surprise. We were doing Friday/Saturday double headers, and the week before the season we had Stockport on the Friday night but didn't bother organising anything for the Saturday, despite Elliot telling us all summer that the plan was to have a home game on that Saturday. Feel like we'll be miles behind on other sides when the season starts due to terrible Pre Season planning. Even last weekend on the 5th July most other Championship sides were playing, not sure why we couldn't have had a game then after two solid weeks training.

Yeah, it mirrors where the safe standing would be for home fans in NO1.

I think the club have been caught out by league one/two starting a week earlier than us, and haven't got the capability of finding an alternative opponent for the weekend before the season.

Good player. Think he's still out of action from a pretty bad shoulder injury he sustained at the back end of last season though.

I'm glad they were seemingly pushed to get proper answers on questions. Unfortunately though, as proven time and time again, when these meetings end nothing is ever actioned on and Suhail and co probably forget about it all the next morning and press on with what they were going to do anyway.

Everybody apart from the powers that be above Ismael would agree with that. Pickering I quite liked at centre half in a back 3, think he would struggle massively in a back 4 though.

Think they fly out on Sunday, no chance they get a couple through the door by then. I can't imagine anyone above Ismael is too bothered. Atcheson will get some good minutes now and probably be thrust into the side at the start of the season. Call up Litherland to make up the numbers in Spain.

Completely agree, but of all the scenario's that could happen, this one has zero chance. Brittains replacement is already here, and there isn't a chance on earth that we could get Gassama under this regime.

Only time we have done it in the venkys era is when we poached Michael Appleton from Blackpool in 2013 for a bit of compo.

Interesting that Leonard wasn't involved with him not being at Accy either. Another injury no doubt. Also looked like Powell played left wing, which after seeing him play might be a good position for him. Seemingly Garrett isn't in the first team picture at all seeing as we took a trialist to play half an hour in midfield at Accy instead of him.

No first team players since December 2023. The club and it's apologists will no doubt count Riberio and Forshaw though.

Out of all of them I'm guessing Hyam might be the easiest to do, not seen any links away for him and seems to he forgotten about with Brittain, Travis and Tronstad all out of contract too. Imagine the crowing if they managed to sort that one out, there would he stories on the Rovers website for weeks about it.

Fair enough. I might have read you're initial post incorrectly as "he will just be an academy player surely".

You dont understand. If he was a contracted academy player, then yes they would. Because he's a free agent, whether it's a trial for the first team or academy then he would be listed as "trialist" to not give his identity away. That's why you see "trialist" on most pre season team sheets over the summer.

Definitely not. It won't be someone who would command a multi million pound fee. It will be a free agent who hasn't sorted a club out yet.
