  1. It was a good performance and really encouraging yesterday. That 11 plus a few more signings keeps us competitive for another year at this level easily. However, the old age problem is that 5 of that starting 11 are out of contract in less than a year, along with promising youngsters Montgomery and Mullarkey-Matthews. The rest who featured apart from Atcheson and De Neve are out of contract a year later.
  2. When asked if it was about an incoming or a new target, he replied with "not really".
  3. That's what I thought. Think they see Kargbo as a 20ish minute player, to be a threat when we need a goal and to be a outlet when we're hanging on.
  4. Thought Kargo was really sharp and injected good pace. Skinned O'Brien in there box to put it across goal but nobody there.
  5. Mullarkey-Matthews to be fair has only just signed his first pro deal, can't long have turned 18 or might still be 17? Think he could develop into something, made one superb run back to block an Everton shot for a corner.
  6. I think he could probably come in as number one. Surprised he hadn't been picked up.
  7. There will he a huge weakness in this side when Brittain goes. For the new lad not to be even on the bench when not injured tells its own story. Good half though, front 4 have all worked really well and pressed well, lovely goal too.
  8. Not moaning. I said I didn't think we would, it's an opinion 😉 One which was correct too.
  9. Val just done an interview on twitter saying that "Ryan is not ready". Don't think he's injured.
  10. It'll be a 3 year deal. We love a kick the can down the road option. Imagine the state of the squad in two years time we'll have no choice but to activate it.
  11. Could play Pickering there as a stop gap for a friendly, and give Batty some minutes when Riberio tires.
  12. Turns 17 on January 12th, so could tie him down for 3 years from then. I'd like to think a pro deal is there waiting to be signed, along with Eze who turns 17 in September. Saying that though Tyjon still hasn't signed despite allegedly having a pro contract on offer since March.
  13. Loan players should be the cherry on top, real quality that's too good to turn down. For far too long we have just padded out the squad with poor to average loan players, I would much rather get some young lads on the fringes/bench instead.
  14. A great little player. Not saying Mumba is no good or that I wouldn't sign him based on height, but we have heard all summer about Ismael's "type" and he wouldn't seem to fit it.
  15. Doesn't strike me as an Ismael type. He likes tall, big, strong, athletic types. Mumba is only 5'5 although is very quick.
  16. Only concern is that Carter can't stay fit and Wharton will take a lot of time to get match ready again. Think young Atcheson will be appearing on the bench quite a bit, especially early doors.
  17. There's no way anyone is paying £100m for Adam Wharton this summer.
  18. That Miller from Hibs would be ideal, can slot in at RB and CB. I don't think we will get him unfortunately as we won't pay the fee, could maybe see another Dion Sanderson type signing on loan later in the window that could perform both roles if needs be.
  19. I don't think this matters. He can sign for whoever he wants and Rovers can't do a thing about it, the fee will just be settled by tribunal, probably in a few years with how slow they go.
  20. I don't think we can sign both of these as we only have one ESC spot left and they would both require one I think. (Al Sahafri was 50/50 depending if the Belgian side he was on loan at or his current Saudi side is classed as his last club) Believe it or not Burnley's owners are close to buying them to add to there portfolio of clubs. True though, spent all summer chasing targets that are financially out of reach, and have now found one they can afford. For what it's worth I am more at ease with this signing than any of the others, good to have some championship knowledge back there.
  21. Yeah that's another reason I just don't believe it. I don't believe we will pay a fee for someone who is 29 in a few months. I also don't believe we will give someone of that age a 3/4 year deal which he would no doubt want.
  22. O'Rourke is miles off it recently. We probably have an interest, but no way do I believe that talks are "advanced".
  23. Only if we have offered him a new deal on at least the same terms as he's on now. If we didn't offer him a deal, then I think we would be entitled to nothing.
