  1. Imagine the scenes if we lined up Nyambe, Lenihan, Mulgrew and Williams as our back four on the opening day next season. The exact same back four that started his very first game at Burton.
  2. I feel like you will be saying this until the end of time. I've never been totally convinced with Mowbray, but he has done what I have at least expected since relegation. I just have a feeling it'll be the usual patch up job at the back this summer, and we'll still be seeing Bennett at right back this time next year when an injury or two occurs.
  3. I thought it was obvious that Waggott was lying, I can't imagine he has any real power to do anything.
  4. Do you honestly think that? I think the lack of last minute equalisers/winners when we're chasing games, and the amount of points we have won from losing positions over the past 18 months tells a different story. There's definitely something to your last line though, Mowbray I think is just very one dimensional, and just throws striker after striker onto the pitch when we're losing and it very rarely if ever works.
  5. Three times we have been in the championship play off positions under Venkys. 25th August 2012 - 6th October 2012 (6 weeks) - K*an & Black 22nd November 2014 - 6th December 2014 (2 Weeks) - Bowyer 25th August 2018 - 1st September 2018 (1 Week) - Mowbray
  6. Rich Sharpe is adamant that theres nothing in the Mulgrew contract theory, but I'm guessing he has no idea and doesn't want to upset anybody again after that negative, horrible and scathing attack on Gallagher the other week.
  7. Only 5pts won from losing positions all season. Only 6pts won from losing positions during the whole of last season. Basically, go a goal down under Mowbray and it's very unlikely you'll get back in it.
  8. Think back to Derby away last season, Armstrong up top on his own, it quite clearly wasn't working so he took Conway off after 30 minutes and bought Graham on, we grew into the game and got a decent point. Today was the same, anyone watching could have told you it wasn't working after 20 minutes, yet no change until deep into the second half, why he didn't change it I don't know. Maybe he is thinking about that pension pot afterall. I keep saying it, but 5pts won from losing positions all season. To put things into perspective, we have only come from behind to win three times under Mowbray in over three years. (two of those in the third division) We came from behind to win three times in 7 months under Coyle.
  9. Shows how bad this league is... Preston have lost 5 of there last 6 and are still clinging onto 6th place. We have only won 4 out of our last 16 and are only 3 points behind them. Awful.
  10. The teams around us weren't going to slip up every week for us. The two home games last week will be what we'll look back at come the end of the season. Finished 1-1 Bristol. See how Preston do now.
  11. Yes you are correct, I didnt include Duff as he was already a first team regular by the time this final came around. Think he made his debut on the final day of the previous campaign.
  12. I wouldn't be expecting all these lads to suddenly burst through in the next couple of years. Our last squad to get to the final in 2012, only Lenihan really came through to play for the first team, although Jack O'Connell has made a decent career for himself too and currently plays in the top flight. The Youth Cup final squad of 97-98 only had Martin Taylor and David Dunn come through I think. I went to the game at Ewood and think there was around 10k on. How many would attend a final these days? Not sure you would get a third of that to be honest. If we could get three quality first team players from that bunch it would be superb.
  13. Amazing the lengths they have gone too to make sure fans don't attend either game.
  14. So just to be clear, you are saying finishing 7th is a failure then? I personally don't see it as that black and white as that. Play offs is great progress (success if we win them), finishing where we are now, a few points off the play offs is acceptable progress ready for another go next year. As for that final line, why would I want us to fail? A club I have invested so much time and money in, and that has been a huge part of my life for over 30 years? I think it was mattyblue who posted earlier but this weird thing where people are asking questions of other supporters about "agendas" and accusing/asking questions of wanting us to fail really needs to stop.
  15. So if your going off this, if we finish 7th and 2 points off the play offs, I presume the season is a failure?
  16. Getting into the play offs would be progress, winning them would be success. Losing play off semi finalists/finalists don't count that season as a successful one.
  17. Yes exactly, think it was Bradford though as I remember looking at the fixtures thinking that could be a really good gate as it was a bank holiday and they were the only side in the division that could have potentially shifted a good few thousand away tickets.
  18. Bit of a blow that the Leeds game has moved to the Friday, I always knew it would move but thought it would probably be to the Saturday/Sunday lunchtime. I expect the WBA game to be on Sky as well, but noticed that Sky already have a premier league game on the Monday night at 8pm, so I can't see them moving to that time as they would obviously clash. So Probably 12:30 or 5:30, or with it being on a Monday it could stay at 3pm and be shown live like our game with Newcastle was on the January bank holiday in 2017. The absolute kick in the balls would be if they decided to move it to the Tuesday night for TV coverage, which they could very well do.
  19. Sky have now got this on there listings as being shown on the red button.
  20. Imagine if we somehow get to the play off final. The final falls on May 25th, so at some point after that, Mowbray will have to go to India for a week to discuss budgets, following that he usually has a 2 week family holiday, and then the Euro's will be starting which will also be used as an excuse for "slow business". Don't expect any signings until the players are deep into pre season training, and even then they no doubt will have to learn our complicated way of playing.
  21. Matt Le Tissier is probably my favourite ever "non Rovers player". A real talent and a bit of a maverick, I think his goal at Ewood in 94 is the only goal I have given (a very quiet and begrudging) little clap too. Does he go in a premier league hall of fame over Roy Keane though? I don't think it's even close.
