  1. Or a deflating one after throwing away a 2 goal lead. I thought we did ok for the most part, and a point is a good result on paper. Thing is though I just can't be "happy with a point" after being 2-0 up, and the day I am is probably when I'll decide to pack it all in to be honest. It's 2 points dropped, especially with Preston winning. This time next week we'll have a good idea whether we're in the running or not I think.
  2. The next two home games will define how the run in goes I think. If we are serious contenders we have to win both.
  3. I'm more concerned about the two home games that follow rather than today. The Bristol City away win followed by two horrible performances in the two home games that followed is still deeply entrenched in my memory.
  4. Still think a "slow build" in this league is a complete myth. Just because someone has been in this league for 10 years, and then gets promoted doesn't mean they have had a slow build to promotion. Sometimes, everything just aligns for that certain club to go up, a consistent 11 where everyone is organised and knows there jobs, a few of the "bigger clubs" having off seasons, hitting form at a good time and picking up momentum etc.
  5. I haven't a clue to be honest, I don't know how it would logistically work but I thought it sounded a good idea, although I certainly think it would have an effect on full season ticket holders as its clear that quite a lot don't bother with midweek games.
  6. 100 Appearances must trigger something in his contract I'm guessing, similar to Downing's contract at Middlesbrough last season. Unless it is of course a coincidence.
  7. A couple of the clubs local to me now, Port Vale and Macclesfield offer "Flexi season tickets" that are eligible for 8, 12 or 15 games which ever option you take up.
  8. Easter Monday last season we played Bolton and it wasn't on the red button. The club can choose whether they want additional games screening on the red button that aren't traditional midweek match days. The QPR game for instance, was a Saturday game rearranged for a Tuesday night, so the club decided against putting it on the red button. Boxing day this season, we weren't on the red button but numerous other clubs were, yet away against Hudds and Forest were both on the red button because the home club allowed it,
  9. The Dingles have gotten into the same lull with attendances/away followings that we had in the mid 00's. The novelty of being a fairly comfortable top flight side has worn off, and the ones I know sometimes even say how boring it is turning upto games that you just know you have no chance of winning etc.
  10. Wigan and Forest were both night games, we drew with Wigan 0-0 and drew with Forest 1-1, so we didn't win them all, Well that's a ridiculous question, of course everyone would want to go to Wembley, it would be a special occasion. Are you saying that the people who pick and choose there games and don't take up a £100 six game bundle shouldn't be at Wembley if we got there?
  11. Chaddy you are still missing the overall point with this. Yes, if you were going to each game separately then of course its great value, but I can't imagine there is many out there that go to every home game on a match by match basis, these would already be season ticket holders by now I'm sure. The Leeds and WBA games could easily be moved for TV yet, and that would make half of the games available on TV. The value then will suddenly diminish. If people wanted to pay a big outlay in one go, then they would already be half or full season ticket holders. I remember us doing something in 08/09 towards the end of the season, we opened up the whole Darwen End lower to home fans and made it £30 for three games, I think the fixtures were Wigan, Portsmouth and WBA. They are the sort of offers needed to make any kind off impact on attendances, along with a £10 game thrown in now and then. £250 for a family of four for six games? People are just not going to pay it.
  12. Remember going to that one in 2001, Dunny was captain. To be honest never mind u21's, if Leicester and Southampton's ground can host a full international why can't Ewood?
  13. Accrington Stanley season ticket's go on sale Monday 2nd March. I bet we haven't given it an ounce of thought yet. Imagine if we got to the play off final, it would be July before they would be on sale.
  14. Is it possible Carter gets a game when Lenihan gets suspended, seeing as he was on the bench at Charlton? Anyone who watches the u23's that can tell us what kind of player he is?
  15. West Brom have put there season tickets for next season on sale today.
  16. Tosin is somebody I could see going on loan to say a Southampton next season, and being bought by them for like £20m a year later, only for City to pay double that a couple of years after that to sign him back if he impresses. No chance is Walton is playing in the top flight next season, so fee depending that could be doable.
  17. With two home games to follow against average teams.... i really dont mean to put a downer on things because I'm ecstatic tonight but we know what happened the last time we started to believe, six without a win!
  18. It's no coincidence in my opinion that we score 5 goals without Gallagher galloping up and down the wing not having a clue what he's meant to be doing. Really hope he's not back in the side next week.
  19. 3 points off the play offs. He said we were 6 points off 3rd. Anyway great win, concerned that with one more booking a two game ban is looming for Lenihan. The back 5 have been superb of late, could really do without it being interrupted!
  20. I certainly understand the point given our owners track record, but it doesn't mean we should cling on to him until he doesn't fancy it anymore. I think he's done ok, and achieved what I would probably expect results wise so far during his time here despite some horrendous runs and baffling team selections, It sounds harsh considering what went on before him, but I do think he should have kept us up in his first few months though. But I honestly think, If Tony Mowbray is the glass ceiling for this club then it's probably time to pack it in.
  21. Well we'll see. History proves £10 games have an impact on attendances, and history also proves that these 8/6/4 game bundles have no impact at all.
  22. If you have £100 you can spare, or say £250 for a family then yes, but I'd wager people who wanted to make a big outlay in one go are already season ticket/half season ticket holders. Plus its quite possible that half of those games will be available on TV. WBA on easter Monday for £10 a ticket is much more attractive to the floating fan, or fan who cant make that commitment to get to Ewood all the time.
  23. Charlton is all seater. Are you thinking about Brentford the week after?
  24. The only other televised game I can think of with Tugay scoring is the 7-1 against West Ham in 2001, can't imagine Andy Gray would have been on commentary for that one though.
