  1. Or getting promoted.... No, you are correct. The likes of Travis, Nyambe etc are our hope of getting out of that.
  2. Must have had a bit of a surge over the past couple of days, Charlton tweeted out on Tuesday that 20k had been sold with over 19.5k in the home ends.
  3. I think we all know that Gallagher will be one of them, the other will be Bennett or JRC.
  4. Also said it's likely any new signings wouldn't play this season as they need to learn the way we play and would have to get to the same intensity as our current lads. He always says things like this though, I wouldn't pay much attention to it. He threw Tosin & Cunningham straight in, Holtby didn't have to wait too long either.
  5. Can you actually ask (respectful obviously) spontaneous, uncomfortable questions at these events or are they all vetted by whoever is hosting before they get to the top table? Wonder how long in the evening it'll be before Mowbray tells us how honest he is, and mentions what 1970's life in Middlesbrough was like despite nobody asking.
  6. Be interesting how we lineup next week. Buckley in behind the striker? Or do we play Downing there with Johnson in with Travis? I highly doubt JRC starts next week unfortunately.
  7. A draw in isolation like others have said is ok, although 6 pts off might be a bit much to make up for our really thin squad. Probably have a better indication after our next two which are both at Ewood.
  8. The way Travis took control of that situation and burst forward to make the goal is something we have been missing in our midfield for years. He's going to be some player.
  9. Good on Mowbray giving JRC the nod, I hope he does well.
  10. Just a reminder that Mowbray has now had 6 transfer windows, and still hasnt signed a permanent defender of championship quality. The back four of Nyambe, Lenihan, Mulgrew and Williams that started his first game 3 years ago are all still here, with only Bell signed on a permanent deal to compliment them. GK, sold an academy grad for a very low fee, and replaced him with a worse keeper who isn't ours, well yet anyway. Up front, he inherited Graham, Gallagher, Emnes & Joao. Three years later we have Armstrong who is an improvement, Gallagher who has regressed, Graham who is three years older and Brereton who has been a disaster. Stood still if we're being very generous, in my opinion slightly worse off. Midfield I think we can all agree has been improved, emergence of Travis with JRC waiting in the wings, Dack being our main man, Downing and Holtby being good signings and the obvious talent of Rothwell complementing them. Johnson indifferent. Apart from the midfield, it doesnt look good, and if we haven't done it in six windows I hold out no hope of Mowbray addressing the defensive situation in the summer.
  11. I can see the summer window excuses already. Well the Euro's are on, we can't possibly do any business until they are done...
  12. Obviously because of that third division season, i accept that you can only beat what is in front if you and it wasn't as easy as a lot make out to get the side going after a poor first couple of months, but i think most can agree that going down was the best thing to happen to Mowbray.
  13. The cheap ticket thing is such a lazy argument because we had them 8 years ago. They are standard for our level now, pushing up to the more expensive side.
  14. If it didnt get promotion, it's not a promotion side, and that's because of Bowyer. Although you are correct that someone else might have got more out of them. Agree on Mowbray, he's Bowyer with a budget.
  15. I don't recall Bowyer's Rovers ever challenging for a promotion.
  16. Mowbray won't get a gig as good as this ever again in his career, not a chance he's walking away from it.
  17. What does me with Mowbray, is trying these rediculous moves when any kind of due diligence on these targets would tell us that we can't make afford the wages for the likes of Atsu etc. He did the same with the GK situation in the summer, sold Raya early on then apparently tried for a few only to find out the fees/wages were too much, again, research on the targets would have told him this a lot earlier. We then ended up with an even less experienced keeper than Raya in on loan a week before the season starts. No one can say with a straight face that there is any kind of transfer planning/strategy going on at this club?
  18. Chaddy claiming he's out for "dinner" yet he's currently badgering every journo on Twitter asking if Rovers are really done for the day ?
  19. Second January in a row where we have been on the cusp of the play offs and not bothered to strengthen. Wonder if there will be another huge collapse like last season. Not a jot of ambition here, and then Mowbray and Waggott will wonder why we're just about scraping 10/11k home fans through the gate.
  20. Well Bennett will be left midfield anyway as anyone signed today needed to be done by 12pm to play tomorrow.
  21. Keith Andrews would have looked like Roy Keane during the Lowe, Akpan, Guthrie, Evans era. I think it was just because we were an established top flight side at the time, and Keith Andrews wasn't a top flight player IMO.
  22. Yeah I gathered that a bit after, it was just an initial thought. Why is he claiming he had to change his username then? All a bit odd. I forgot to mention it will be interesting to see if your info comes to light today as well ?
  23. "Plans change" was a Nicko favourite wasn't it? To be fair bbrovers228 has got a few correct in the past and obviously has some decent info from somewhere. Not sure where that Dave guy has come from, I actually thought it was bbrovers228 at first when he started going on about how he had to change his username, we'll see if his info comes off or not today I suppose.
