It was actually 1.4m that you got for gronkjaer, not that great when you paid 2.2m for him in the Summer. Also each Prem position is worth 500k, you have lost your last 3 league games if i'm not mistaken (these are games that you may have picked up points if you had played Savage). So I guess that can come out of the 3m you got for Sav. Don 't think it looks quite so Rosy then does it.

I personally feel that Todd not being mentioned by Radio Lancs is a good thing. I don't want my defenders mentioned, 9 out of 10 times a defender is mentioned it's because he's been left on his arse by a striker. Listen to Arsenal on the radio and you will find one of the least mentioned players is Sol Campbell, it doesn't make him a bad player he's just doing the simple things right which is what Todd is doing at the moment. In the last 5 away (league) games we have conceded 1 goal, Todd deserves a lot of praise for that. On a side note his temperement also seems a lot better now.

Graveson could have signed a pre-contract and joined real in the summer for nowt, Savage has only just signed a 4 year contract so he is bound to cost more.

Graveson is off to Real for 2.1m so we should definately get the Savage deal sorted asap. I'm sure they will make a move for him if we don't

So at present we have only paid 5m for him, I guess that is why the press are saying we want 5m for him. At least if he did go for that amount we would be recouping his whole transfer fee.

Don't think we will get anything from this game. Both Full backs suspended and Ferguson a doubt in midfield. Hopefully we might see Micky Gray get the nod at left back with Reid slotting in at right back. Thommo in the middle with Flitcroft, and Emerton and MGP on the wings.

Just had a look at the form charts and I was surprised to see how badly Villa have been doing recently. They have taken 1 point from their last 6 games (we have taken 9 points). Also looks like they are down to the bare bones due to a few injuries.

Tris, it would be nice to see a goals per £ comparison. I guess based on a weekly wage versus goal return, Dickov would be pretty high up. Andy Johnson has probably been the best value for money striker this season but Dickov must be right up there.
