  1. Wrangle yourself a job at BRFC and you’ve a job for life - be it DoF, CEO or coach, and that is very unhealthy for a football club.
  2. Ted Harper 1925/26 - 43 goals, English record too at the time.
  3. If folk want to take Swag at face value that’s their prerogative but I’d take anything he says with a huge pinch of salt.
  4. Spotted Sky have picked their live games until the end of February… surprise, surprise we aren’t on at all, so there are some perks to mid table mediocrity. Also means PNE will be Saturday 3pm.
  5. You know what’s coming: ‘Digital Day big success! Our data tells us that 67% bought a digital ticket up from 57% previously with many fans taking the opportunity to go digital for the first time as the club continues its green journey’ The fact 3,000 fewer Rovers fans were present than last January’s tie and sales were truly horrendous pre the last minute u-turn obviously won’t be in the press release.
  6. People are obviously free to post what they want when they want, I’m not the forum police but calling JDT a clueless clown who has to go when there’s 85 minutes to go is ridiculously OTT (as well as not remotely true) especially when we end up with a big win.
  7. A former agent that somehow got into football administration and had fanbases happy to see the back of him wherever he’d been… but of course, somehow ends up here supposedly on the recommendation of the team manager and his property developer assistant. Typical VenkyWorld appointment.
  8. I was at the match so no chance of a reception anyway, but it’s why I never comment on the thread during the game, football is a fluid sport that you need to judge at full time, you can look a bit daft calling for the manager’s head, ‘clown’, ‘clueless’, stating we are going down etc etc if the team improves/turns the game round.
  9. Whereas TM got nothing of the sort despite having some real piss poor seasons on a higher budget. And of course we never hear anything against Swag, Venky’s or anyone else. They get away with murder.
  10. Nothing at all wrong with 900 for a game like that… but there was always plenty wrong according to you lot when we used to take similar to such games. At least you’ve got real now and realised clubs like ours won’t be taking multiple thousands everywhere when the novelty has worn off.

  12. Not great first half, but dominated the second, created a load of chances and the main man got a hat trick. I hate most things about modern day Blackburn Rovers, but you have to enjoy an afternoon like that or why bother.
  13. Does it suit us when we are so short on numbers?
  14. I know there is, I know plenty like that myself, but for the likes of us it’s obviously much more than that or I wouldn’t be on here right now, and neither would you.
  15. Supporting a football club isn’t purely about watching the team though, is it, or we wouldn’t get so impassioned about it all.
  16. If you aren’t watching how can you judge a player especially when its a defensive midfielder and his judgement is based on ‘goals and assists’ - his whole game is based on breaking up the play and moving the ball. Ridiculous take from Rev that, he’s been excellent.
  17. He’s slipped down the pecking order, that’s football. So did Scott Wharton earlier in the season, should he have been shipped out too? Of course not, just like Buckley shouldn’t have been, it’s a squad game and there’s 50+ matches for an injury prone, small squad to navigate. He’s still had plenty of minutes. But what’s good for the team and ergo results is way down the list of priorities at this club.
  18. My view is if they are better than what we have get them in - Harvey Elliott, for example. But if they are just raw, slight 19/20 year olds that struggle to adapt to the Championship why have them ‘blocking the pathways’ of our own, to use a well known Greggy phrase…
  19. It’s very difficult, I think back to my time as a kid/teenager/early 20s and think of the buzz, the pride everybody had for Blackburn Rovers and you can only feel gutted for that generation now. But I always try and remember (before I get all Bobby Robson 😁) that we are the club. The collective memories, the bug being passed generation to generation. Steve fecking Waggott, that teenage ‘Head of Consumer’, those utter disgraceful owners just happen to have the keys at this time, they will go at some point, they always do and we can rise again, I just don’t know what pieces will be left to pick up when they do.
  20. I’ll be back on ignore soon enough 😁
  21. Oh I’m not wrong, and why ‘again’? Of course the public don’t get told the full story of what goes on behind closed doors, we don’t know the half of it. People in football all have their own agendas from CEOs to DoFs to managers to players, they are protecting their position, their reputation, their future employment chances - and if you still haven’t worked that out by now there’s not a lot else to say.
  22. You take everything everybody at the club says at face value so that doesn’t mean an awful lot.
  23. I don’t disagree with Andy in some ways. We were in a good place going into December, obviously been horrendous since. But things can change very quickly in this league and we have a lot of injured players coming back that do work well for JDT; Dolan, JRC etc. ‘LiKE nEw siGNinGS!’* So we could well pick up and have a decent run in, or we may not- but I’ll judge the actual on the pitch season in May. That in no way means I can’t separate that from the utter disgrace that is the running of this football club. *And of course being injured in January means they can’t be loaned out to Plymouth or whoever next week.
  24. The ‘big wages’ sliding scale. I’m sure it was the likes of Dack and Ayala, before that Danny Graham, Mulgrew etc that were the unaffordable millstones around our neck. Once we had shut of them we’d be a lean machine and would have that famous wiggle room to wheel and deal. Now it’s second division steady eddies like Lewis Travis that are luxuries we can’t afford and need moving on. Think we know where this all ends.
  25. And yet more 19/20 year olds get lent to us for a bit so they can develop. In you come lads. Thats nice for them and their club. How about the development of Blackburn Rovers? Remember when that used to be the point.
