  1. He’s under contract for two more years, ergo compensation - so of course the club wouldn’t just ‘release him’
  2. I’m afraid 11 years out the top flight and not a single top 6 finish in the league below since (with crowds collapsing to more top half L1 levels than Championship) has led to diminished standards across the club. We desperately needed a play off campaign to help shrug off this inferiority complex that has enveloped the club.
  3. Hmm interesting that, Phil - though I wonder if Tugay had to operate in the middle of the pitch up against just slightly better players…
  4. They’ve obviously rowed back from that after selling about 10 new tickets since the last price hike.
  5. Then everyone would be filing out the ground pumped up after watching it - ‘SOUNESS! SOUNESS!’ It was shown by ‘Rovers TV’ remember that? There was also something called ‘Radio Rovers’ and a ‘match programme’ too
  6. If only they had seen sense before the *first* hike. A pathetic limp to c8k is now as good as it’s going to get, I imagine. I wonder if at the upcoming FF Swag will be keeping to his line that we are well on course for an ‘uplift of 1500/2000 sales’ on last season?
  7. I’m pretty sure I saw it on the initial launch, but who knows as the comms are always so garbled.
  8. Just seen a post from the club that only mentions that Friday is claim your seat deadline, no mention of a second price hike … praise the fecking lord.
  9. No, but a return to Rotterdam would be an absolute no brainer for him, other offers not necessarily…
  10. He’d be his number 1 fan if he actually ended up here, he’d certainly ‘love his passion on the touchline’, so not sure it’s really worth the back and forth with him on it…
  11. Their loud chanting through the Matt Busby minute silence at Ewood with their own players shaking their heads at them has always stuck with me.
  12. So much money sloshing around, but also so much panic. Absolutely perfect conditions for agents and their clients to fill their boots.
  13. Still, half a million regardless. What a gig.
  14. Get Leicester to perform a miracle and he’ll have Category A++ twice with Everton too!
  15. Personally think the MGP thing is something and nothing. Football is a small world, owners/directors will be chewing the fat with ex players/managers all the time, Pedersen just happened to tell the media about a particular conversation.
  16. Glen’s view is definitely one you hear a lot at the ground (despite it being our best season in a decade). Would be a real blow if he goes as I think we’d see the best of his methods next season - but if he went today I doubt many tears would be shed across the fanbase.
  17. Ha not at all. But ok, ‘meltdown’ is a bit pejorative, but you get my point. A lot of moving parts for this to actually happen. So I’m still relaxed about it at this stage. And if he goes, he goes, if you appoint good quality European managers that are happy to be a gun for hire across the continent, you have to expect them to depart at any time, and I think GB knows that - he had JDT in the door very quickly, so all you can do is have ‘trust in the process’ that he finds another good ‘un.
  18. Then the Sunday Times says it’s Nagelmanm’s. Who knows? But there’s no point going into meltdown over Sunday paper still season stuff.
  19. No it’s definitely you… but then you were calling JDT ‘a dolloper’ who you wanted rid of until a few weeks ago, so who knows where you are coming from.
  20. I’m using him as an example of how JDT is not particularly popular at Ewood - so JDT leaving wouldn’t be particularly upsetting for many fans. Sorry if you are that triggered by an ex run of the mill manager you can’t understand that…
  21. Of course he’d be off like a shot. My point is Nixon has just gone for the easy angle as he is want to do, especially as I doubt a Lancashire based hack is particularly connected to the inner workings of the Tottenham and Feyenoord boardrooms -It is telling that no other paper is leading with the Feyenoord fella being the favorite for the Spurs job this morning…
  22. Who is if he went to a big club in the city where he still lives? The blame will be if they end up pissing about all summer trying to get a replacement. But GB had JDT in the door within days of arriving himself, so I’d be happy to let him lead any search. But all this angst when it’s *Nixon*, no other paper is pushing this angle.
