I’m afraid 11 years out the top flight and not a single top 6 finish in the league below since (with crowds collapsing to more top half L1 levels than Championship) has led to diminished standards across the club. We desperately needed a play off campaign to help shrug off this inferiority complex that has enveloped the club.

Glen’s view is definitely one you hear a lot at the ground (despite it being our best season in a decade). Would be a real blow if he goes as I think we’d see the best of his methods next season - but if he went today I doubt many tears would be shed across the fanbase.

Ha not at all. But ok, ‘meltdown’ is a bit pejorative, but you get my point. A lot of moving parts for this to actually happen. So I’m still relaxed about it at this stage. And if he goes, he goes, if you appoint good quality European managers that are happy to be a gun for hire across the continent, you have to expect them to depart at any time, and I think GB knows that - he had JDT in the door very quickly, so all you can do is have ‘trust in the process’ that he finds another good ‘un.
