Countries playing friendlies in late March with players who have played 40/50 games, great ay.

Why should we be suddenly taking 2k to every away game? We aren’t charging to automatic promotion. Normally we’d expect to be taking c1k to Saturday aways in the midlands, we’ll have more than that. We’ve just had 1,600 at Stoke on a Sky Friday night, 6k at Sheff Utd, we’ll have 2,500 at Hudds, 5k+ at PNE. So anything around 1,500 at Birmingham in these straitened times with £50 trains is plenty. Nowt to see here.

And we’ll be back to *four* of them next season too. 😫

24 teams to reach the finals out of one continent is obviously going to make a mockery out of a qualification campaign, largely a stroll for the bigger nations.

Bury gone, Oldham and Rochdale in non league. Such a plethora of clubs in old Lancashire (especially in the vicinity of the Manc giants), shows how this region is the heartland of the game, but obviously very tough to remain competitive/solvent.

And 14 out of 24 since December 10th (17 out of 27 including red button). And yes that could be 19 out of 29 by the end. Crackers when you remember we are a second tier play off contender, not Man City.

I think it will have an impact, and I think it is progress as I’m not sure what planet they’ve been on with the ridiculous pricing since Covid. But we need to be realistic with ‘what good looks like’ when it comes to sales, as it’s twenty quid off at the end of the day, so still a hefty price for second tier football in a town like Blackburn.

I’m just happy to see an end to yearly rises, as it was starting to get silly in an area like this. However, £379-£474 (and then up to £429 - £529 in May) are not exactly prices to see us pull in a load of new folk (in this league). But perhaps we could see the heady days of having ST holders numbering in five figures again.

Unfortunately these days ‘stewarding’ is just a few folk employed in a ground on a match day to ensure a club keeps its safety certificate. They do zero stewarding as recent pitch invasions have shown.

No, but they are supplemented by much more recent trophy wins. I’ve no problem, by the way, acknowledging that those down the road are a proper football club, as at the end of the day Old Lancashire is the heartland of the game, as the founder member list (and the plethora of league clubs still around this region today) would tell you.

They will count towards the attendance figure as the crowd given is for ‘tickets issued’, so it doesn’t matter if paid or not, or if you even turn up. I’d say a couple of hundred most weeks, largely in the family stand.

Loads of ST holders miss multiple games over a season. You’ve probably guessed I’m a pretty committed Rovers fan and even I’ve missed two.

Not how it works here. Our attendances wax and wane on the back of ST sales. It’s all a churn but if we did end up with 11/12k ST holders we would certainly have more home fans in the ground each week than we have now. As an example we started last season with 7k ST holders, so we had 9/9.5k-ish home fans on most weeks. This season started with c9k ST holders and we’ve had 11.5k-ish home fans on most weeks.

Tomphil (not wanting to put words in his mouth) will mean 15k Rovers fans, so an overall average attendance of 17/18k) , which if you can get 11/12k STs sold is very much possible, and respectable, as a second tier club. Alas, I don’t see this announced pricing getting us there.
