Why would the players not be supported?

… everybody’s gates were on their arse back then. Even the likes of Arsenal had average crowds of c20k. The ‘Geordie Nation’ around 15k.

On the Sky issue, since Huddersfield on the 5th November, we’ll have had just one Saturday 3pm home league game until we play Hull on the 15th April.

But that’s the point, most fans aren’t ‘paying attention’ like us saddos pouring over every aspect of the club day in day out on an obscure message board. They just go to a game every other week and/or see snippets on Facebook/the LT. Whereas this debacle has been very public on one of the most high profile days/evenings of the season for any football fan

Didn’t say people think we are ‘well run’, most folk I speak to have had no particular opinion on Waggott, Cheston, Pasha or anybody else. And the ‘owners are putting in millions’. There has obviously been no groundswell of anger in the ground against any of them (Venky’s included) for years.

Away from brfcs, I haven’t detected much issue from fans with how the club has been run post L1 promotion. I’d be very surprised if anybody else on here had picked up anything different. I hear that ‘our shit fans’ are to blame for our struggles far more than the likes of Waggott… though the tide may be beginning to turn again.

That was a decade ago. Most fans I speak to have had very little issue with the administration of the club for a good while now… until the past few days.

It’s pretty simple to me as to why this has been such a severe fan backlash. You don’t normally get an actual insight into the workings of a football club. This has been all too public and shown everybody, even the uber-positive Facebook brigade just how dysfunctional this club still is.

He’s a big Rovers fan, wish we had more like him, but it doesn’t mean he doesn’t talk a right load of nonsense half the time…

Not at all, was just a mere light hearted aside re a certain poster’s puppies and rainbows approach to life…

So why do the owners allow it, year after year, person after person?

Some assumptions going on there dolly. I was on every single one, and yes we were easily ignored and seen as representing a minority viewpoint as the vast majority looked the other way. Angry grounds are spontaneous 99% of the time, look at Goodison this season as an example.

Exactly right. ‘Organised’ protests just end up with a few hundred or so fans looking a bit daft as the majority don’t join in as you ‘should just get behind the lads’. Spontaneous eruptions of anger during a game (usually if you go 1 or 2 down) is when you get most joining in, they forget about ‘the lads’ then…

Simply because we’ve been in the top 3 or 4 as the decisions have been made by Sky. Continue this slide down the table and we won’t be picked again (so every cloud).

Thought you said the other week that Chelsea fans will have to get used to ‘not spending Abramovich style money any more’? They’ve spent over half a billion quid in two windows…

I’ve no idea. But it isn’t the first time I’ve heard that Sylvester is incompetent.

Like many things at this club the ‘process’ for signing players is obviously not fit for purpose. GB alluded to that. An embarrassing turn of events, but to me GB deserves time to at least try and sort out this decaying mess of a football club (at least in his own area of authority, the commercial side is beyond saving until a certain spiv is shown the door).

But we aren’t, as the club’s own head of marketing said ‘there’s nothing special about Blackburn Rovers’ Should be the slogan of Venky era Rovers…

He should donate it to one of those mascots that missed out.

ITK-ers on this site and Rich Sharpe have both stated in recent weeks that there is no particular ambition to go up. And that is with a side that has spent the majority of the last two seasons in the top 6. What even is this club then? What’s the point of any of this? So this latest debacle is par for the course, yet they will still be asking the ever loyal 8/9k for their £400 - £530 (maybe even another hike, why not, ay Swag?) in June, some of the most expensive prices in the league for what is in all purposes a ‘development club’. Yet in return they can’t even fulfil the very basic admin tasks of a football club or fulfil the basic mantra of a football club at any level - i.e you strive to be the best you can, with the best possible team you can muster. They play in blue and white shirts down at a (decaying) place called Ewood Park, good job as I don’t recognise much else…
