  1. I don’t think it was too bad, but I’m not arsed if the also rans of the league had a worse window than us… as there’s only a select few that matter, one being Boscombe FC.
  2. Could’ve been better, the bare bones we ended up with at Luton tells tells us that. However, part of the good/bad/indifferent chat is often skewed over when you did you business. If it’d been quiet through January but then yesterday announced Giles, Hedges, Markanday and Zeefuik whilst keeping all our key men, we’d be thinking, not a bad window that. You drip feed it through the month and then a quiet deadline day and folk skew to thinking it was poor.
  3. About 14.5k Bolton fans… more than we are getting sat in the automatic Championship promotion places. Why? They sold a shed load more STs than us last summer, it’s that simple. Over to you Waggott for the summer sales campaign…
  4. Maybe it’s just me, and the reason I rarely even read this bi- annual thread, never mind post in it - but why do folk hang on the every word of supposed ITK-ers? They either get proven right and said player signs, great! Or they don’t, and it’s tears before bedtime. Either way, we’ll all know by midnight anyway and you can save yourself a load of time and end energy by doing something else!
  5. No chance you are getting 2,000 to South Wales for a 5.30pm Sky game at £28, it’s a trek for both northern and southern based fans, I’d be happy enough with 1k.
  6. I’ve heard Rev was waiting outside Brockhall revving his engine this morning…
  7. Doesn’t he mean, ‘fathers don’t want to hear things like that are being done to their daughters’ ? He’s obviously nervous and not media trained… but why on earth is he saying anything pre charges/trial?
  8. Good judge of character that Southgate…
  9. Stays or goes, he is the new Derek Dougan - handed in a transfer request on the morning of the 1960 cup final, but actually stayed for another 12 months…
  10. What’s £3million when he pops up with the winner at Ewood in the six pointer on the 30th April…
  11. Their crowds have been well down this season, but I believe it was promoted heavily across social and local media as a day to help save the club, marches etc. Big support base across the East Midlands, unthinkable for them to go bust…
  12. This public spat, 48 hours from the deadline is very different than gossip about a possible Rangers move months away from a window.
  13. So? You said it was an average Welsh side, their results say otherwise. Tom Cairney has been a top Championship player for years, yet hasn’t been in an ‘average’ Scotland squad for a long time - means nowt.
  14. Is it an average Wales side? Best crop they’ve probably ever had. They make a better fist of qualifying for tournaments than countries with far bigger populations…
  15. Aye, Arsenal away, pretty much filled the old Clock End, handed a beating, but good craic anyway… then went to Birmingham and beat them with a Duff masterclass a few days later.
  16. Scrambling around trying to find the five ‘stubs’ you needed!
  17. ‘The more things change.. ‘
  18. And you know the terms, do you? If half the team aren’t signing them then they obviously aren’t worth the paper they are written on.
  19. You don’t need to sell them early if you get them signed up… it’s you that are flummoxed by the sounds of it.
  20. They’ve been turning down offers in years, 1, 2 and 3, have they? I’m expecting the club to have much better contract management, not to have half a team running contracts down, or the whole ‘model’ is pointless.
  21. It is a good model, and in the reality the only model for most Championship clubs… yet we are having to sell players for knock down prices (if we get a fee at all) as we can’t execute the most important part of the model… a contacted player.
  22. Well we aren’t, are we, as that sale has put us a fair distance away for the next cycle. What we sell next time, or the time after that, is obviously a different matter P.S. maybe having half a team with contracts running out, ergo rapidly depreciating assets isn’t an ideal way to avoid FFP!
