  1. ‘Understood to be displeased’, they medieval monarchs?
  2. A muddled manager that has lost the plot has nothing to do with it then? The league table isn’t just a pure reflection of each playing squad’s quality or else footballers may as well manage themselves. Top 6? Probably not, due to his appalling recruitment in defence. But inadequacy of recruitment aside, this collection of players shouldn’t be getting to late February with the only target being 50 points either.
  3. A green seamer in England will often flatten out after day 1 and be good to bat on day 2 and 3, or clouds at Headingley or Trent Bridge can quickly move away negating the big swing. Problem with a pitch like this if it is turning square from the first morning is it will only get worse and worse.
  4. There’s always these uber-positive fools on social media, but they don’t matter in normal times - it’s the crowd in the ground that usually have the measure of a manager. Without that seemingly the only insight is Facebook groups and they are getting a prominence they generally don’t have (doesn’t make it any less infuriating to read like!)
  5. Just think of the ‘Big x’ ticket bundles Waggott could flog for these upcoming relegation battles... beats mid table, doesn’t it!
  6. 4.45pm it is, then (which is just after the close at the cricket too 👀)
  7. Ideal world, pitches should offer a bit for the seam bowlers throughout, good for batsman once they are through the new ball and should spin days 4 and 5... obviously with regional variations, more spin in Asia, more swing and seam in England, for example. Spinning like this so early is taking the piss slightly, but I still prefer it the old feather bed Asian pitches were 550/4 declared was followed by 500 and the inevitable draw.
  8. “I mean, who we gonna get?”
  9. They are potentially decent signings, but they are so poorly coached and conditioned that we’ll only really know if someone else gets a go with them.
  10. So people would turn down a Dyche, a Howe? Who gives a flying feck, they have no connection to east Lancs, they are mercenary professionals appointed to do a job
  11. I take it we shouldn’t expect to see any green seamers for when India come here in the summer then? It’s just what home teams do, when they know the away side is out of their comfort zone with the conditions.
  12. So all that hoo-hah about this ‘progressive, attacking football’ has led to pretty much the same amount of goals as usual, further away from the top 6 than the past two seasons and losing almost half our games...
  13. In fairness, it wasn’t as unplayable as the second test, we were in decent shape at 74-2. Alas too many of our players just don’t have the technique in playing spin - which is no surprise as most of the Championship season these days is played outside of high summer when pitches take turn, and clubs that do prepare pitches that spin - Somerset, for example, get fined for doing so!
  14. ‘Best interests’ 🙄 It’ll certainly be in some people’s...
  15. Seems a bit 2 + 2 = 5 here. Totally plausible scenario at a normal club, I just don’t see it as having unfolded like that here. Who ‘told’ him for a start?
  16. Ste B was always on it, but I don’t think he joined as a brfcs rep, just a private citizen!
  17. The announcement that we are now ‘following the Brentford method, that will lead to pathways to the first team etc etc’ can’t be far off...
  18. Just like every manager of ours coming from the HSH/SEM stable, Venus/Waggott ending up at a second club in a row that now wants to build housing on the training ground will be just a coincidence, I’m sure...
  19. Not taking long for this all to unravel, is it...
  20. If he doesn’t prioritise winning games anyway, why is he being such a petulant arse in recent weeks then?
  21. ‘I talked about stats the other day didn't I last week? And one of those stats was we had the most touches in the opposition penalty area of anyone else in the league.’ Have I woken up in 2012? - ‘Crooke - And I know you're not big on milestones but four years at a football club is a pretty big achievement, is there anything that stands out in your time as manager that you take great pride in? A proud memory or a favourite moment?’ Mowbray - No. How petulant. Supposed professional football manager in his mid 50s. Either he’s on his way out or he really is just going through the motions - whatever it is isn’t good for the club.
  22. Going to be pissing it down in Blackburn from this afternoon till KO tomorrow night. Good job this new £2million pitch is on the way...
  23. They did for his 200th game in charge which was in a midst of a decent January. They aren’t posting anything because the tide has turned, so they know what the comments will (largely, Stability crew, aside) be like...
  24. Perhaps Sophie-May Clarke would be better to contact as she’s the only person at the LT seemingly covering it...
