  1. I would wager ‘the club’ know all too well when they were actually built...
  2. Don’t give them ideas or we’ll have a Lidl in the Riverside’s place, Burnden Park style...
  3. During the game Kevin Gallagher was saying how TM must use a bingo machine to pick the team and was generally far more scathing than I’ve ever heard him...
  4. The Riverside is a dilapidated shed that was built on the cheap, replacing it would not be an issue for anybody. Brockhall still stands up to or is far superior to most football clubs, especially at this level. There is no sporting reason for this development.
  5. They were often training down on Pleckgate playing fields in 1994. Indeed me and my dad used to watch and on one pre-season session he thought this new ginger lad was Perry Groves... it was Robbie Slater.
  6. ‘Legacy’ isn’t just reminiscing about the good old days. It’s the tangible facilities, that they are now flogging off for housing. If you choose to believe we’ll have facilities that will be 2021 industry leading, good for you, but I don’t. Yes, if locals flogged half of Brockhall off, I’d still be furious. Just as I am more upset with the Walker family than anyone that’s come along since.
  7. Of course, but unfortunately I doubt we’ll hear of Coventry again once it’s denied at the presser. I may be wrong, but I see our local press as football reporters not investigative journalists, and the impoverished outlets they work for will not want to rock the boat with key stakeholders like the local football club - key drivers of sales/site traffic.
  8. And they’ll flat bat it away, obviously. I’d prefer real journalism that publishes the investigated story and then gives those involved the right to reply.
  9. If it wasn’t for Jack we wouldn’t have Brockhall, at all. Or the fantastic facilities at Ewood Park, or a Cat 1 Academy. ’Don’t buy this legacy stuff’. I mean, honestly.
  10. Not suggesting a financial gain in the slightest. However, you have a professional relationship with the club and are the only person on the whole board with anything positive to say. So I think your judgment is clouded and I discount it on that basis, sorry.
  11. No problem with you being a sponsor, indeed local businesses being involved with the club and forging relationships with the hierarchy is how it should be. But no, I don’t think you are an objective observer, sorry.
  12. Bournemouth aren’t the first and won’t be the last club to throw away the vital early period after relegation with a succession of bad decisions.
  13. Because most fans won’t have a clue about Coventry and our local media will be too craven to even investigate, never mind expose it, I’d wager...
  14. It’s because we’ve been in League 1, ‘TM is a Moral Man’ and has brought the famed Stability, players keep coming and *Bolton*. The owners are now beyond reproach with many as there’s still a club in existence down Ewood Park, 2010-2013 may as well be 1910-1913... (Indeed, if there is anybody that’s a threat to BRFC it’s ‘negative’ fans like me and thee.
  15. It comes down to the fact that most fans don’t really understand the business/infrastructure side of the sport. As long as players keep arriving and the club keeps going, they are happy enough. They don’t see how such enormous decisions could lead to potential Cat 1 issues down the line, or the reduction in the club’s reputation and who we can attract as we reduce the quality of our infrastructure. Couple this with riverside drip’s very perceptive post yesterday re critical thinking, that actual comprehension and reading between the lines seems to have completely vanished for large swathes of the population. I would bundle that in with this present day obsession that a lot of folk have with avoiding ‘negativity’. Social media will be ‘the club’s’ greatest ally through this swindle.
  16. Ooo la la Stevo. Is it ‘supper’ in your house instead of tea?
  17. The ‘rest’ after everyone’s been paid and these State of the Art facilities have been built is going to ‘balance the books’. Whose ‘books’ then? The enormous debts owed to the Rao’s? Or will it sort out the structural issues we have as a non PL club with wages at 80% of turnover that means the owners have to pump in millions every few months? Please let us know, Arran.
  18. I’m more of an half 12 man myself, but 1pm is still in the dinner window.
  19. Then said useful idiots will then simply go ‘we aren’t a PL club anymore, we need to be realistic’ ’Lets be honest, Brockhall was far too big anyway’. ’we are a small club’ ’Bolton’
  20. Reading about the postponement of the National League North/South in the Sunday Times and it says Darlington in the 6th tier are selling close to a 1,000 streams of their version of ifollow each week. Sure ours isn’t massively up on that, not sure if to be impressed by Darlo or worried about the rapidly waning interest here...
  21. ‘Never go back’ is the old maxim, especially when the facilities will soon be a shadow of what he left behind...
  22. That statement was so odd to me. Absolutely no mention of the Academy and its pivotal Cat 1 status, a feather in the cap that surely gets mentioned in a PR puff piece about the club moving forward? And the actual owners were not mentioned either, a massive infrastructure project and they are nowhere to be seen. Who then, is ‘the club’ here? A few salaried hired hands like Waggott? Very, very strange..
  23. Every chance it’s a 50+ points season. 12 points needed and all the top sides to play in the coming weeks...
  24. Name another manager that... -Is more about ‘performances’ than results. - Who ‘isn’t into formations’ - Who ‘doesn’t have time to work on set pieces’ Some gig this.
