  1. If we’d have won a few games in February instead of January, the TM celebratory memes would’ve been all over the club’s social media channels this week. You know the ones! Eating a biscuit, that one when he talking about scoring a goal for his beloved Boro, that kind of thing...
  2. Good job TM told the owners to ‘slow down’ or we’d be in a right mess 😒
  3. It’s just my take on it, but the only article on this development that isn’t in the news section (all written by news reporter Sophie-May Clarke) is the Fans Jury. Sharpe himself hasn’t written a thing...
  4. Ignoring the Dingle trolls and that utter fool Beetlejuice, I’m pretty pleased (and relieved) with a lot of the responses to the Jury article. There's definitely plenty of fans with their eyes wide open...
  5. It looks as if an editorial decision has been made to use news journalists instead of Sharpe and treat it purely as a local housing/planning issue. Which is fine, I suppose, for the local resident aspect of it, but from a football club perspective it is ‘nothing to see here’ and certainly shows that Sharpe/LT are simply swallowing the ‘state of the art’/combining facilities angle. Piss poor.
  6. ‘LT Fans Jury’ weekly article - https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/19110094.communication-cost-fans-verdict-rovers-brockhall-plans/ Still a fair bit of denial going on, but at least there’s some reticence. I would wager said Jury is probably a more realistic snapshot of where the fanbase is. Not up in arms like brfcs (yet), but certainly not the uber-positive cretins you see on FB groups.
  7. Ha! There’s a worrying sign to what this regime has done to my faculties!
  8. No, I’m just pre-empting what I’ll see when the Cat 1 status is removed...
  9. You missed the apostrophes, I take it? I’m going to take a perverted type of pleasure in watching the mental gymnastics the FB brigade go through to justify the ever onward downsize over the next few years...
  10. That’s what struck me about his comments as he is usually wedged far up the backside of whoever is in situ here.
  11. ‘What other non PL clubs around here are Cat 1? We need to be realistic. We should carry on using TM’s contacts to bring in more Elliotts instead. Good and sensible move by the club IMO’
  12. Yes, but in the news, not the Rovers section (I know, I rarely go to that section either).
  13. As I said yesterday, the fact that the statement only talks about ‘pathways’ and doesn’t even mention probably the biggest success of the entire club in recent times - the Cat 1 Academy, rings big alarm bells for me for its future...
  14. Yes, but there was a big groundswell late on in 2012/13 that carried on into the early days of 13/14 that it was time for him to go and ‘Newcastle had done us a favour’.
  15. First noting of potential local objections... https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/news/19107267.questions-housing-needs-blackburn-rovers-brockhall-site/
  16. Club’s make mistakes. However, most other clubs step in in good time when it’s obvious it isn’t working out - be it an inexperienced coach or a manager with years of management under his belt. Indeed, even in the ‘good old days’, Jack and John Williams made errors or had underperforming managers - and they usually (perhaps Souness went on slightly too long, but he had a stellar track record with us to fall back on) got rid and replaced before it was too late. In this present day vacuum it all just staggers on and on.
  17. Would’ve agreed with you up to League 1. There’s been a big swing towards the owners since, surprised if you haven’t noticed it.
  18. You reckon? I’m afraid the days of 2010-2013 have long gone (though plenty supported the owners over the protesting fans even then) This forum is very much the minority view, and ‘the club’ knows it will have an easy ride.
  19. They still could by employing quality people throughout the club who could begin to pull the club up by its bootstraps - but as you say I see little appetite in them to do that.
  20. Exactly that J*B, and I’ll add in the state of Ewood Park, the downscaling/closing across the patch and on it goes - but surely the Academy is the one unqualified success we do have? It’s a minor miracle considering how inept the rest of the club is...
  21. I’ve just told you. You seem to be struggling with what ‘leaving a legacy’ actually means. It isn’t just looking wistfully at Jack’s statue and lovingly reminiscing with old photos and videos of the glory days, but taking advantage of the infrastructure he left behind.
  22. It’s not about ‘Jack’s wishes’, or being ‘disrespectful’, it’s not a Worthers Originals advert. It’s about the dismantling of the actual, tangible, quality infrastructure that he left behind, that put this club on a sound footing and has been only to the club’s benefit.
  23. For such a massive change for the club, an ‘exciting’ one, no less. Why was there not a single person named in that statement? Why were the owners not mentioned, considering they are normally thanked for their unstinting commitment and every purchase, from players to grass seed. Where was the Chief Exec, surely the driver and sponsor of such pivotal infrastructure plans? Where was the team manager backing this exciting combining of facilities? Where was the Academy director promoting the links with the first team and how it can only help our Cat 1 status. Nowhere and that speaks volumes...
  24. The way the bottom 6 are picking up results this season it’s going to be a 50/51 survival line, like it was when we dropped. We need 12 points, we probably will pick those up, but I wouldn’t put my house on it with Watford, Reading, Swansea, Brentford and Norwich coming up before the March international break...
