  1. Neil Yardley is a proper Rovers man, can nobody remember the boring bastard that did commentary before him around the millennium time? Plus, since the Venky induced cuts has led to a scrapped RoverVision and Radio Rovers he pretty much runs the media side on his own. Just watch him at an Ewood match day - he does the preamble, reads out the teams etc from pitch side, then he’s up to the stand doing 1st half commentary, then back down to the pitch doing MC stuff and half time raffles, then back up doing the 2nd half, then post match interviews. Not sure he needs the Sussex sidekick but good luck to him.
  2. They lost the plot late on with some nasty little challenges, ‘leaving a bit on the player’ - they looked like lower leagues cloggers, let’s hope that’s where they end up.
  3. Was it you skinning up behind me?
  4. Happens a lot here. Bell and Williams missed the post lockdown warm up friendly at Liverpool, but were ‘only a few days away’... didn’t see them until the new season in September.
  5. Loved Scotty, but better than Duff? Never!
  6. Same could be the said of the ‘92 and 2001 sides - but imagine this lot in the PL.
  7. He’ll go when he’s had enough on his own terms. Remember that and it will save you all a lot of pointless angst.
  8. I’ve worked with plenty of that lot in my time. They still say to each other on a Monday - ‘did you go on?’
  9. This present side ain’t fit to clean the boots of their 1992 or 2001 predecessors. That’s why I had to laugh with some of the ridiculous claims of ‘ToP 2’ after we’d just had 3 put past us at Watford.
  10. We used to hear all the same tripe from Dingles, then they actually made the promised land and now they struggle to sell 18,000 home seats.
  11. Apart from the away end, Cambridge’s ground is exactly the same.
  12. Certainly not seeing the relegated PL sides struggling as per usual this time - Norwich and Bournemouth top two, with Watford only a point behind. Suppose it shows just how weak the rest of the league is this season...
  13. The international break, unfortunately, was inadvertently badly timed to coincide with the ‘anniversary’, it meant the LT had loads of blank space day after day to fill with ‘drawer stories’.
  14. I’d agree that they are rarely mentioned unless prompted. I’d say we are the Mowbray Club now more than anything, I can’t recall a time where one figurehead seemingly dominates all aspects of the club (well maybe Jack) and conversation between fans - enduringly popular too. Though perhaps not surprising due to the power vacuum this regime has created within a hollowed out club.
  15. They chose it for ‘Landlords vs Tenants’ novelty, not any other reason.
  16. Not scientific at all, but take a straw poll with those around you when we are back in Ewood (whenever the feck that is), I’d be surprised if you didn’t notice it. There had already been a massive change in attitudes with match going fans I know and my away game crew in recent times in comparison to say 2016, nevermind 2012.
  17. It’s rare to find any ex player that says ‘Rovers’, possibly due to the fact ‘Rovers’ isn’t ubiquitously this club, unlike ‘United’ (well, it isn’t, but is!) or ‘Forest’ and the likes of Faz have travelled extensively as a coach, but it is also very rare for our east Lancs fans not to refer to the club in that way to each other.
  18. Scrapping in Mansfield town centre by all accounts... now if that sentence isn’t the lad at ‘rock bottom’, I’m not sure what is!
  19. The club are enthusiastically touting he plays for the U23s on Friday, we’ll see if that actually transpires... https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/18888214.everton-plan-bradley-dack-lights-training/
  20. I would have totally agreed... until recently. Now? There’s been a definite move to actual support and gratitude towards them, not just ‘we have to put up with them, we’ve no alternative’ If you haven’t spotted that shift, fair enough, but it’s happened.
  21. Willem Tomlinson has pitched up at Chorley.
  22. How the hell he gets the main presenting gig for Sky’s EFL coverage, fella’s stiff as a board.
  23. He was also ‘pleased’ when he signed a new contract the year before, as that was also a club decision, so I wouldn’t put much stock in that opinion.
  24. League Starts? I’ve obviously been misreading the stats then. Great stuff if that’s the case and he should be largely available going forward, as we’ll need it with the other two often out.
