  1. How can it be? It’s a 31,000 capacity.
  2. Splitting hairs? I take it you’ve forgotten the 2012/2013 version of Blackburn Rovers?
  3. 4 to 4.5k. 11k Jack Walker 8k a piece behind the goal.
  4. Went to West Brom back in August, thought their West Stand would be an ideal size and style. Close proximity to the pitch, has the TV gantry, Exec facilities etc. Just need to add raised platforms for disabled supporters. Good, old, decently sized club, West Brom - a capacity of 27,000.
  5. Ah I thought it stood for The Rickety Shed.
  6. Knowing this regime more likely to be akin to Luton’s ‘Executive stand’...
  7. Possibly, but even with said facilities that’s a big space for only a 1,000 capacity.
  8. Going down to 28,000 means reducing the Riverside capacity by 3,000. It only holds around 4,000 now. So that would mean a replacement would be an Accy Stanley size stand, some contrast to the Jack Walker!
  9. Frustrating thing is, he’s so quick he didn’t need to be on the shoulder, don’t give the linesman the option!
  10. Who were these loads of posters who said Cunningham was a bad signing, who is a proven performer at this level. or Tosin, or Holtby. Johnson was widely praised as another solid Championship pro. Downing, less so, more to us being burned in the past by older players.
  11. Thought he lived down here 5 days a week.
  12. Oh lighten up it’s Saturday night.
  13. Quote what? I was talking about the Cowleys making a mistake. It’s you that talked about ‘long term plans’, your Hudds supporting mate (must be great to have a mate for all 92 clubs, no wonder you have such insights), the views of the owners etc.
  14. Murdoch sold Sky last year, so get your hand in your pocket
  15. I’m talking about the Cowleys not making the right choice. They get sacked and they are back to looking for jobs in League 1 and in the meantime they would be able to spend their Saturdays with Colin Murray in the Quest studio, a bit like that other ‘next big thing’ who tried and failed to turn a nosediving club around... Nathan Jones.
  16. Championship, possibly he’d go back. They end up in League 1 and I’m not sure, he’s on record saying how much he dislikes managing there. Though the travelling and living away from your young kids means there will always be that pull...
  17. Right for who Chaddy? Not them if they are sacked. Hear a lot about ‘long term projects’, usually said by struggling managers and clubs, it’s code for ‘we are cutting back, so make do’... next news they’ve been potted.
  18. Huddersfield was a stupid move for the Cowleys, trying to turn these nosediving clubs round is a big ask and usually takes time and a few managers - we should know. They were the next big thing and could have waited for a more stable club, though I imagine parachute payment wages sealed the deal...
  19. It’s not only that group that refs Championship games. ‘The Select Group referees officiate some games, but they are supplemented by National List referees. We are looking to grow the pool. The ultimate objective is to have all referees in the Championship as full-time professionals.‘ https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.express.co.uk/sport/football/566621/Championship-referees-to-become-full-time/amp
  20. They aren’t professionals outside the Prem. Rovers fan and EFL ref Ben Toner is a teacher, for example.
  21. Was it only a couple of months back when they were staying up and chanting ‘We’re Bolton Wanderers, we do what we want’ after somehow avoiding a points deduction for cancelling fixtures?
  22. Shades of us at Barnsley in relegation season. How the clownshoe stayed in post for another two months after that Boxing Day debacle is beyond me... ‘It is a ground where the tunnel is in the corner near the away fans and as Boro players trudged off a sizeable crowd of simmering Boro fans gathered to make their feelings only too clear. And tempers almost boiled over as Rudy Gestede gestured dismissively at supporters as he disappeared down the tunnel’
  23. The lengths the two clubs will go to to avoid fans actually watching one of football’s oldest rivalries. The tour of Lancashire towns that aren’t Blackburn or Burnley continues to... Oldham, 2pm on a Tuesday. https://www.rovers.co.uk/news/2020/february/new-date-and-venue-for-burnley-game/
  24. Possibly, and fair play to them if they go and win there, but every chance they drop a few points next week. Plus 3rd, 4th and 5th are dropping points too.
  25. But... PNE are away at West Brom and Fulham next two games. Two massive games at home for us, could’ve turned on its head by this time next week.
