  1. You reckon? Our profile as a club is subterranean these days, it wouldn’t get much more than a passing mention, I’d wager.
  2. Hope TM is reading his thread. ’Old fella selling the Sport Pink’ ‘the bus home’, ‘transistor radios’ ‘no injury time’, ‘teleprinters’. Marvellous.
  3. From the ‘Fans Jury’ in the LT... Greg Cunningham has arguably been Tony Mowbray's best bit of business this year. He hasn't wowed me, but he's brought balance, consistency and inspired confidence in all around him. I personally think Amari'i Bell is a better player with better athleticism and technical ability, he just lacks the self-assurance that Cunningham has developed which counts for so much more. Kelvin Wilkins Time to dismiss them m’lord.
  4. Good interview in the Bolton News with Keith Hill the other week on this... ‘I will go in and have a game of headers in the morning and I can do two or three hundred with David Flitcroft but I can do eight with a young player and that really does concern me,” he said. “Things like that have to be worked on. It’s nobody’s fault but it’s the individual players’ career. And all it takes it getting a ball out in the morning“ “These young players have an unbelievable opportunity. It isn’t mine – I am already here – and I have a ball in my hand every single morning. “I go into the gym and see them all doing shoulder presses, bench presses, sit ups and then I ask them to do a little bit of two-touch and the ball is all over the place. So it’s that relationship with the ball that we are looking at as much as we possibly can, developing them. It is difficult being a young player nowadays because they don’t go through the upbringing that we did,” he said. “It is a different dynamic now. The young players need to know there is real pain in winning and it is not just given to them. You have to test and stress these players in a football environment’
  5. This is a Blackburn Rovers forum, so we probably won’t think you mean Doncaster if you mention ‘Rovers’, that’s how we refer to the club on here, just like we do in real life. You should have noticed that before you started your trolling and gave yourself away.
  6. c11,800 Bolton fans so pretty much exactly what we are pulling in... and they are bottom of League 1 without a win all season.
  7. They’ve ‘around 9,000 ST holders’, like us a few of those will be complementaries etc, not 9,000 purchases so could still be around or behind our 8,600 sales that ends up around 9,600 ‘holders’ Still a good effort by them, element of siege mentality, but also good deals like a ‘family ticket’ - adult and child for £250.
  8. Can’t? Or won’t?
  9. Reading Sharpe’s verdict piece, he alludes to the fact that TM was vert short with the press after the game. Man under pressure?
  10. ‘Big club’ Southampton! ’Medium’ club, err... Hull Good one. Every year we have to suffer the increasingly crap trolling of this eejit. Do the honours mods, for all our sakes, there’s weeks to go.
  11. ‘Small’. Speak for yourself.
  12. From memory it’s one of the hardest away days to get a pint, pubs near the ground are home fans only. Folk I often go away with are drinking in Hammersmith.
  13. If we have no identity, no pattern of play etc etc, how come you bet on us to win, usually comfortably, pretty much every game? ?‍♂️
  14. Our London Branch luckily survived the cull of the official supporters clubs around the time of the millennium and is thriving. Regular gatherings, award nights etc. Amazing that apart from the Disabled Supporters Association, it’s the only club affiliated one we have left in this country!
  15. First time for Luton at Ewood since the early 80s and they have a bit of promotion goodwill. No chance they bring that again. Whereas we have around a 1,000 at pretty much every south east game.
  16. Then more fool them, as there was absolutely no reason that after yet another middling season in the Championship we would see a substantial increase in sales.
  17. So we’ve sold 100 more; 8,600 over 8,500 last season, so around 9,600 season ticket ‘holders’ (paid, under 8s and complementaries). They’ve done well to get any increase, they are no longer bargain prices and we’d just finished 15th in the second division. It was Waggott who had the fantasy view that we’d sell an extra 1,500.
  18. We should. Especially with Bolton gone and Wigan being a night game, it’s our only local daytime fixture. But if the results continue to be so so until the game then I would wager we won’t.
  19. By the time it goes on general sale on the 14th there will still be thousands left, so you’ll be fine.
  20. Worth tanking for that win at Wembley... though didn’t feel like it when Derby went 2-0 up in the first leg of the play off semi!
  21. As an aside, I thought Neil Yardley was an excellent compère. Something others on our table also commented on. He’s been at Rovers years, obviously he has an interest in being so through his media business, but I could certainly see him presenting/commenting on a bigger scale.
  22. The online allocation will have sold out over the weekend. They’ll add more this morning, I’d imagine.
  23. ‘Super Atko’ began as a pisstake, but promotion season onwards it became a positive chant!
  24. Come on Dave, pre season means bugger all, it’s largely half paced fitness exercises against third/fourth division and non league sides. 8 goals in 60 games for Forest, wasn’t it? I would love him to come good, can only be a positive for the club in more ways than one, but he’s been very poor thus far.
