January Transfer window

‘Ball playing midfielder’. Been a long time since that description fit Buckley, ‘ambling about half arsed with his head in the clouds midfielder’ would be more apt. -
Better all round footballer than Vale, better attitude too, alas just like him, he can’t put the ball in the net, which is kind of important for a striker (or maybe it isn’t these days as he can just miss kick it for a ‘goal involvement’ instead).

John Eustace - our head coach
Mattyblue replied to chaddyrovers's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
He’ll be absolutely rolling in it. No chance he dives back in at a non parachute Championship club. He’ll bide his time until a PL club is panicking. The new Big Sam on that score. -
Thought the clubs wanted more games, not less? Sorry that’s lucrative European games and pre season tours they want more of…
-
Training on the Ewood pitch again, just what you want before a load of home games through January and February. Brockhall pitches frozen again, presumably. Shame we don’t have any indoor facilities down there or anything…

Who doesn’t trust Eustace or think he doesn’t deserve said trust? -

He shouldn’t have trusted them, but from the outside you only ever get half a story, hearsay. Now on the inside I imagine he’s still surprised by the lack of professional courtesy and ethics at this very strange football club. -

Who knows what he was promised on taking the job? Could’ve been ‘fuck all dosh here, John lad, but we’ll give you a nice salary and office, and we don’t sack folk, so nice cushy Championship number this, so up to you’ or ‘keep us up and due to some big sales we will have a competitive budget over the next couple of windows’. Scenario one, yep, no sympathy, ‘lie down with dogs’ and all that. Scenario 2, does he have a right to be pissed off now? Only to an extent a he should’ve done his due diligence, but he also has every right to think what an unprofessional, ragtag operation this is and be getting his CV out. -
I’m not saying it’s ideal, but replays were going, the elite had decreed it, but why couldn’t it have been straight to a shoot out like the League Cup?
-
Mark predicting a comfortable win? Now I am worried! 😱
-
How many of the 16 ties will actually kick off at Saturday 3pm? Four?
-
Watched a bit of their tie with Bristol City, one place below us in the table. They carved them open at will at times, but to be fair they stayed in the game. It’s the speed in which they move the ball as much as the players themselves being quick that is the big difference.

You can get rid of at least two international breaks for a start. The extra games provided by the ESL by the back door (as UEFA folded just as the mega clubs were on the back foot), I.e. the nonsense that is the Champions League ‘Swiss model’ ain’t going anywhere, alas.
-
The compromise should’ve been no replays but no extra time either - like the League Cup. Tottenham were always going to pull away in Extra Time against semi pros… but straight to a shoot out, anything can happen.

No chance Man Utd won’t be picked. Doesn’t matter if it’s Arsenal away or Barnet at home, if they’re in the cup, they’re on TV. All about the ratings as millions of pathetic armchair glory hunters will be tuning in.

Maccies in corporate? Think his Dingle pals are pulling his plonker a tad here…
-
So he can have a ‘bit of banter’ with all his Liverpool ‘fan’ colleagues, presumably?

Looking at the comments under the club’s facebook post he’s a terrific signing and we can’t do any more because of FFP. So no issues from me. -

Yep, the decline of the club (of course it was relative decline pre this shower turning up) began as soon as it was decided in the summer of ‘95 to ‘stay loyal’ to a team (and Ray) that had run out of steam instead of having that ruthless drive to get even better. Too nice, too much of a ‘family club’. The rest, as they say… -

Season after season we are knocking on the door of the Premier League in January. Just 20 games from that stage that can completely financially transform a football club, potential owners from across the world falling over themselves to get involved… season after season we then fall away after doing feck all in the window as we have owners that seemingly couldn’t give a monkeys about said riches or the club in general - but won’t ever sell it either. As always, the question is, why? -
Yes, look at SuperBRFC’s post further up.
