Never any traffic on the M6. -
So nothing will change re adult pricing then, 9,000 ST holders it is going forward. Why does the National Lottery need to fund the club’s 150th anniversary, a club owned by billionaires?
-
Imagine Eustace having to explain himself to Gregg Broughton because he wasn’t hitting some ‘data point’ or other for some useless metric.
-
To be fair 7,000+ tickets is not a ticket allocation we need to give. We have billionaire owners who have no impediment to fund the club and we are miles away from FFP worries. We choose to give enormous allocations when up to 3,000 is the standard across the league, indeed there are many clubs with plenty of empty seats in their grounds that still wouldn’t hand out more than 3k. Me personally I’d rather see a full Darwen End than massed banks of empty seats, but let’s not pretend it’s that or poverty.
-
I’ll get pelters for this but I’d have given them the full end (obviously I wouldn’t have had last time to watch them celebrate a league title win). We could’ve been looking at our biggest second tier gate since 2001 if we had.
-
No, higher ST sales don’t lead to noticeably fewer walk ons here, never has. Any season we sell more STs, the numbers of home fans in the ground week by week usually goes up by around that amount, and that’s also true on the flip side if we lose ST holders. Been the case here for 30 years and it’s why ST sales are vitally important. *P.S we don’t sell Ewood out because the ground is far too big for where we find ourselves. It was built for a small town club winning the league title not one spending a decade plus in the lower leagues with errant owners.

Crawley 54 Tests, average scraping over 30, but will he be playing next summer and in the Ashes? Probably. It’s harder to get out this side than in it (Pope’s not much better).

Reading that Harris went due to the son of the owner who died and is now holding the reins has brought in a new structure above the manager and wants to ‘play football the right way’, I.e Pep Ball and they ergo repeatedly clashed. This madness really has addled the brain of folk across football. -
That may well be one of the reasons why we only have 9k ST holders (though we also had 9k pre the TV deal and I’d say it would be next summer where the Championship will see the impact of this deal) but it doesn’t alter the fact that even if we sell, say, 9,000 walk ons, which is a huge amount at these prices, unprecedented in many ways, we still will only have 18k home fans in the ground and it will lead to Ewood still not being particularly close to capacity. You can’t sell out at Ewood with such a pathetic ST base - and that’s on the powers that be and their policies.
-
Way it is with only 9,000 ST holders… I won’t bore you all with my mantra that I usually follow that statement with .

Because many of your Rovers based opinions are so outlandish they aren’t even something you can have a rational debate on. -

Recently? He’s been like this since day dot of brfcs. Shouldn’t bite really as I honestly don’t think he ever does troll, he actually does believe some of the crackers stuff he comes out with. -

I’m not talking with hindsight, you are. Bit in bold, they’ve not done that since day 1 yet you backed them to the hilt until the scales finally came out your eyes just *months* ago. -
Why? There’s weeks to go and it’s £35-£45 a ticket for a TV game just after Xmas and new year. Though regardless of all that it is still looking like it will be the best Dingle game crowd in years.

I and plenty of others on here were scoffing back then, Rev, no hindsight needed. You were delighted. But then you would have been as a good judge you aren’t - you thought ‘St John’ was a poor chairman and it took you over a decade to realise these lot are charlatans (and the less said about the current hole you’ve dug re that lad lining up with Travis the better). -
What doesn’t he do enough of?

I’m afraid the cap fits on this occasion. -

Didn’t say it did have anything to do with it. But like I said ‘plenty were happy to have hoofball Allardyce out the door’. That type of fan was clueless then and they are clueless now. -
At least he looks like he enjoys being on a football pitch which is more than can be said than a lot of pros.

And plenty were happy to see ‘hoofball Allardyce’ back out the door, the rest, as they say… -

PL clubs generally don’t want up and coming British managers anymore… which is good for us. -
Unless the whole end block sold out on day 1 I’m pretty sure at least the first 10/15 or so rows haven’t gone on sale (which they’ve done before so seems a reasonable assumption).

Exactly. It is what it is as these owners just won’t spend, but It’s not ‘flapping’ to say that not bolstering the squad in January has cost us before and very likely would again. There’s a reason clubs chasing the promised land leave nothing to chance in the window, it can utterly transform your club at a stroke, but our owners aren’t arsed about that. -
No plenty left in there.
