  1. Pears is playing well so is getting praise, when he was playing poorly he was slagged off, was ever thus.
  2. The club needs to stop pissing about and get those extra c1,000 on sale in the morning.
  3. Par for the course for the India Cricket Council (ICC).
  4. The Times match report from one of those famous Boxing Day 1963 fixtures.
  5. And of course why did they initially sell the end block (JW side) if it was ‘closed for works?’
  6. Ok, I believe them (🤔). So, presumably the end blocks of the JWL and Riverside will be on sale today instead, if not, why not?
  7. That demand wasn’t obvious a month ago, that’s the point. That second paragraph I’ve not argued with at all. Absolutely no reason the end blocks of the upper tier, JWL and Riverside should not be on sale right now. (‘Works need doing in the upper tier end blocks’ my arse. They initially put the JW side end block of the upper tier on sale, does Sufi think we all have the memory of a goldfish).
  8. Exactly why. But the club couldn’t have foreseen it when the tickets went on sale a month ago.
  9. Higher demand, yes. Highest demand for a league game in 40 years, no. Come on 47er, you’re a sensible poster.
  10. Herbie and J*B (with help from the mods, of course) have taken this place to another level with all the features, podcasts, merch etc. Here’s to a good year for BRFC and BRFCS in 2025 🔵⚪️
  11. Of course I’m not accusing anybody of lying on Santa’s birthday 🎅
  12. That was a tenner for a promotion party/ceremony. Nuance seems to be getting lost here. So: When this game went on sale a month ago did anybody (club included) expect to sell more full price walk ons for this than any league game in 40 years? If you say you did you are lying, pure and simple. However, since then a combination of it being that lot, good form and tickets being on sale through December, I.e ideal presents, folk getting together and thinking ‘yeah let’s go down to that one’ etc. means we’ve had the mother of all spikes in demand. The Rovers wider fanbase is sleeping, but still there.
  13. If Markanday is a Championship level player why has he been sent out to the fourth division despite being at a Championship club for three years?
  14. They’re rattled, they know their position as a club primed for promotions and resulting PL seasons is looking much more shaky than it was. They don’t get back before the parachutes run out, they won’t get back and they’ll be back in front of their 10k gates in their wooden shack before they know what’s hit them.
  15. Cheers, Adam. I’ll be checking in with Gordo tomorrow.
  16. It was always going to sell well, but nobody foresaw this well, including the club who were obviously caught on the hop. But that’s football, circumstances and momentum can lead to surging demand. So let’s enjoy the occasion and drink in Ewood in all its glory. However, one off games aren’t important in the grand scheme of things, like you said games coming straight after will be 12k - the vital thing is to increase that base level so every week sees a substantially busier ground. How? Sell more seaso…
  17. End of the day it was always going to go this way due to increased foreign influence. But like so much else in English football that has changed in the past ten years, is our game better for it?
  18. Then just days after the window shut JDT went too (after it was clear he was soon to be on his way all through January). So a bit of a daft decision to let the captain go, wasn’t it.
  19. He’s right on that score though. When was the last time we all got giddy about a big crowd… and actually won
  20. Just read through that. The plethora of random folk we’ve had masquerading as executives here this past decade. 🤦‍♂️ Amazing the club’s still plodding on at a decent level in some ways.
  21. The Travis move was ridiculous. ‘But he’d fallen out with JDT’. So what? He was literally weeks from the sack, a completely non-sensical decision to loan out the captain when facing a relegation battle (unless it was all to save three months wages)
  22. Not sure WBA will be going for a bloke just sacked by their arch rivals…
  23. I have addressed your provided ‘evidence’, I just disagree with it. The club could not have possibly envisaged weeks and weeks ago when this went on sale that we’d sell more full price walk ons for this than any league match in 40 years. Just ridiculous to say otherwise (and I say this as a staunch critic of the club’s commercial operation).
  24. Too much loyalty to players that have peaked by Pep. Ferguson would have had the likes of Walker sold in the summer, he certainly wouldn’t have brought Gundongan back.
  25. Biggest turnout for walk ons for a full price league game in c40 *years*? You expected that for a game at £33 to £40, on Sky when we were plodding around second division mid table when they went on sale? Most folk have gone back home from all over the place by 4th Jan, it’s not Boxing Day when that is the case, we drew a game there four months ago, is that some big event? The six game streak wasn’t on the horizon when they went on sale, Nobody could have foreseen this, so let’s not pretend otherwise. *However, that doesn’t mean the 1,000 seats the club are deciding not to sell shouldn’t be put on sale right now, they have foreseen the demand this past couple of weeks so no excuses.
