  1. Hedges is a prime example of the nonsense of modern football. A wide player picked more for ‘what he does off the ball’ then what he actually can produce on it, you know, that passé stuff like, taking on a man, crossing, passing, shooting.
  2. Two, Bowyer in 2015. But point still stands, one sacking in a decade, we don’t pot managers here, a great place to get your feet under the table… but then you do have to operate in VenkyWorld.
  3. Who thinks they are lucky to be up there? They are up there because they have a load of good players for this level due to parachute payments allowing them to spend far more than equivalent sized clubs (only ten sides out of 24 with a lower average crowd). Until and unless they have a monumental feck up and somehow mess up the parachute seasons this is how it will be.
  4. Load of games against relegation rivals, doesn't look unsurmountable to me, I certainly wouldn't be taking them at odds on.
  5. He’s 23 with 200 games under his belt, for a side that’s spent the majority of it far closer to the top 6 than the bottom one. He’s a Championship player (now if he falls down the leagues due to making wrong career moves/greedy agents that’s a different issue and he won’t be the last on that score).
  6. I’d be very surprised at that as I don’t think Derby ever give more than the standard allocation for league games.
  7. Hi Eddie 👋 Ghost two posts above mine (and throughout the thread).
  8. Stop the new manager talk because, err, folk keep stating there’s no new manager!
  9. Goodison and Anfield are a trek too as there’s no railway station anywhere close so it’s either find a bus or a fair walk
  10. I agree there needs a priority system for the once in a blue moon game where demand outstrips supply here- doesn’t need to be points, never was before this season. ’Season ticket holders with x away games’ and taper down. Simple, like it always was
  11. Championship midweeks are now desolate places with every game on TV - no travelling fans and a load of ST holders serve it… but it’s what the clubs wanted.
  12. Swag is ‘CEO’ in name only, if only Suhail was just a puppet.
  13. People still saying he won’t get another gig at this level - he will, no question.
  14. Behaviour has changed in football grounds, massively so at Ewood. They are unrecognisable environments from not that long ago - you must be fairly young if you think otherwise.
  15. Having a ‘points’ system is, err, pointless here, Dingles aside when was the last time an away game didn’t go to open sale? Just make the Dingle game ‘ST holders with x away games’ before all ST holders and job done. More nonsense from the brains trust to put alongside ‘Digital Day’ and having a manned away ticket office counter (for pick ups), but not actually selling away tickets - for an end with nearly 8,000 seats).
  16. Ewood Park in 2025 is not a difficult environment in which to be a footballer, however it is not and never will be like a day at a Lord’s test match, that’s just the demographics of football crowds (I know, I l know what a bunch of oiks they are, but alas we can’t sack the fans).
  17. If you think present day Ewood is a tough place to place you can’t go many away grounds.
  18. Very supportive crowd is Ewood, a great place to ply your trade.
  19. That’s football fans, he’ll get it much worse at most other Championship clubs - and he’ll know that.
  20. Who’s shot themselves in the foot? A dozen or so folk on an obscure message board criticising him will be part of his future career decision making? Aye, ok! Got to do better than that, Bradders. 😀
  21. He made a rash decision in my view, however he couldn’t get away from BRFC quick enough (just like the last manager) and that isn’t all due to him wanting a fatter contract like you seem to think it is.
  22. Still not reading anything in that post that points to any structural issues at Blackburn Rovers, just the age old employee wants away for more cash and a longer contract. I’m all for balance with this situation, yet can’t see any with OOJW…
  23. What don’t you understand? I said is it ‘purely’ down to JE being a greedy snake. I.e. of course it isn’t, there’s nuance to what happened.
  24. Yes we get it, all this is purely down to The Snake wanting a few extra grand. But there’s nothing else underlying in your view to two managers walking (and repeatedly trying to orchestrate a move a long time before) in 12 months?
