  1. However, look at the average crowds of your EFL ‘regulars’, so Birmingham, Bristol City, Sheff Utd, Derby, Forest and so on and their crowds have risen massively since our last promotion in 2001. Our average crowd of 20,000 back then had us 3rd, now it would be 13th in the averages. The common denominator is they are city clubs with vast catchment areas and a dormant floating support has for some reason re-emerged. Unfortunately, clubs like us and Bolton just don’t have that floating support, just a very loyal core that doesn’t really wax or wane by much. I would wager that we are one of the few clubs in England getting lower crowds now than in 2001 (if at the same level).
  2. I was at a wedding when Stoke away was on this season. Our table didn't hear a word of the speeches as we were refreshing Twitter for updates as that mad last 10 minutes was going on.
  3. It’s the competition the media want. A European Super League in all but name for big city clubs. They never wanted us, league champions, in it in the first place.
  4. A new striker ready to play has to be the priority. We don't get one in and Graham breaks his leg after the window shuts, we would be seriously up against it. We got away with it this season, as he was surprisingly robust, but he'll be 34 in August.
  5. 10 years ago we didn't, shows how small time a lot of our fans have become -mirror image of that lot.
  6. Go on Tottenham, you can have this one after Cardiff 2002.
  7. Amazing that they would willingly throw away our heritage https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/amp.theguardian.com/football/2019/mar/28/fa-rebrand-efa-arrogant-2030-world-cup-bid
  8. Bloody hell, it was only a youth game!
  9. What happened to it? Probably a bit before it’s time, would do great in that position now, close to Darwen/Lower Darwen folk too.
  10. Didn’t the Darwen End have a gym when it was first built?
  11. When Luton were stuck in administration, on top of breaking third party payments rules they got a 30 point deduction...
  12. That’s me off social media for a while... well until 5pm on Sunday.
  13. Third of the gate the U23s had against City at Ewood. Nice one LFA!
  14. Thought charging a tenner for a youth game was taking the piss.
  15. I thought the new ground had been scrapped for the foreseeable?
  16. Brighton have an enormous and affluent catchment area to themselves. However, theres no reason why northern club’s can’t match Bournemouth or Watford, they have standard crowds of 10,000 and 19,000.
  17. Not the point you are making, but a fine example of how Rovers MUST engage outside the borough of BwD, as more and more of our support now lives outside the town of Blackburn. My own group of mates from school are another example, out of about 10, two still live in Blackburn and one of them is about to move. Surely the club's database must tell them that but they don't seem to have grasped it.
  18. The county palatine of Lancashire is the heartland of the game. North east doesn’t come close.
  19. Remember when you lot used to call us ‘bandwagon jumpers’?
  20. Sympatheticclaret - Considering you attract support from Blackburn’s border all the way into Yorkshire, any ideas why you struggled to attract five figure crowds when Dyche first took over?
  21. Well yes, but it seems to be much more prevalent than it was. Maybe it’s my paranoia as we spend more and more time in a lower division.
  22. Out of interest, in places like Ossy and Rishton, literally on Blackburn’s border there seems to be far too many Dingles for my liking. Yet I get the impression if you went to say Colne or Padiham you wouldn’t find too many Rovers fans. Any reason why apart from folk wanting to escape Dingleville?
  23. Reminded me a little of Scholes when he crunched into a few tackles.
