  1. Just saw a tweet from our Blue Eyed friend about hearing a rumour about the women’s team being scrapped. I heard something similar at Birmingham t’other week. Something about not wanting to pay the additional costs that having a Championship team would entail...
  2. Good to see that they’ve explained the ‘plastics’ tag now. Its because there were Rovers fans ‘south of the Ribble’ in the 90s Only flaw with that is that there has been a substantial support for Rovers in places like Bamber Bridge, Leyland, Chorley etc going back many decades, way before the 90s- as a few of our ‘mature’ posters on here can testify to.
  3. *7500. ’Couldn’t sell all your tickets’ Though there will be loads of them in the Jack Walker too apparently, so maybe there’s 10,000 of them coming, their entire home crowd.
  4. Yeah the only thing it was missing was perhaps a bit more on the play off defeats 88 to 90, how did he manage to get the team back up for the new season etc. Minor quibbles though. Proper football man.
  5. Looking at Stanley’s fixtures they have a tough run in, think they’ll get the 50 points though.
  6. The proof will be in the performances until May. You are right, the manager carries the can, so he was extremely foolish giving bang average players new deals and generally automatic starting positions. Lets hope he finds some ruthlessness in the summer or we’ll be back to League 1 in 2020.
  7. He’s gone from never blaming the players publicly to slamming them in every interview. Obviously feeling the pressure...
  8. £71 for 6 games anywhere in the ground? For a club just outside the play offs too. How about paying double that in the Jack Walker for our Super 6 dead rubbers?
  9. Aye. Don’t know if I should thank or punch me dad for getting me involved with the Rovers.
  10. We can’t take that to a game as we are literally the only club in England that offers that kind of allocation.
  11. I doubt they will, especially for midweek games. With a minuscule season ticket holder base, you just aren’t going to get 14,000 folk buying match day tickets week in week out. Unless they are flogging mini season tickets?
  12. My uncle was always one of those ‘I’m a football fan first’ types. I don’t get how that even works. I mean I watch other games on TV, but it doesn’t in any way compare to the feeling of watching YOUR club. The ups and downs, the feeling of that late winner, the anguish of the late defeat. Analysing the table, looking at the fixtures and on it goes. Other games? You watch it, then you change the channel and that’s that
  13. They are worse than Dingles these days. That lot are in the top flight now and comfortable in their skin, so don’t need to give it the big ‘un as the facts speak for themselves. I.e. they get their 18,000 and that’s that. The days of ‘if we were int Prem we’d have to double size of t’Turf’ and all that nonsense has disappeared. This lot however have such an inferiority complex due to having achieved the square root of fuck all in most of their fans’ lifetimes, that they have to cling to their away support at local derbies for some sort of validation. It’s sad really.
  14. Clubs that get 10,000 gates are ‘big’ now. YOU ARE SUPERIOR
  15. It’s TwattyBlue if you don’t mind. ‘Please tell us how great our away following is’ If that’s not an inferiority complex I don’t know what is. But please tell me more about on what parameters you are basing this ‘much bigger club’ (apart from taking a large following 10 miles)
  16. As I said. Same tripe every year. Do the honours mods.
  17. The 90s gave them all deep psychological scars, simple as that.
  18. Want to talk about football fine. But can we please have swift bans for the clowns banging on about ‘plastics’ and such like?
  19. Their allocation now increased to 7,681.
  20. He surely can’t persevere with Mulgrew and Rodwell as a partnership, so I can certainly see a back 3.
  21. Careful now! You’ll get a reputation on their board. I’m already ‘TwattyBlue’!
  22. He’s either lying about money being available or he was ridiculously naive and thought a few wins against teams like Ipswich in January, where the likes of Rodwell hardly faced a challenge all game, meant we could get to May no problem. We’ll see if he actually does replace those that need replacing in the summer. If he chooses largely not to (or isn’t allowed to) then I foreee a late Bowyer era stagnation and then back to League 1.
  23. Makes you realise just how much dosh is required just to run a football club day to day at Championship level.
  24. Bolton’s caterers owed £250,000 and may pull their services for Saturday’s game... https://www.theboltonnews.co.uk/sport/17476994.catering-company-threaten-to-pull-out-at-bolton-wanderers/ Club safety certificate on the verge of being withdrawn, as can’t guarantee stewarding... https://www.theboltonnews.co.uk/news/17477248.live-latest-updates-as-crunch-talks-held-over-wanderers/
