Season Tickets 2019/2020Mattyblue replied to blueboy3333's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard Earlier in the season away fans were in the Riverside half of the bottom tier anyway...

The one’s he thinks can step up, of course, get games at a higher level. The one’s that aren’t good enough are moved on. Fairly obvious Smallwood was a lower league battler, nowt wrong with that, he did a good job in League 1, but you must be ruthless, ‘deserve’ doesn’t come into it.

‘Fellow Blues’ etc. Not as common as ‘Rover’, but acceptable.

Rovers vs. Swansea - Sunday 5th May, 12:30pmMattyblue replied to J*B's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard Where’s Mulgrew going to go? Probably highest paid player (or one of) at the club and contracted till 2021.

Load of pissed up Rovers ‘lads’ sucking up to the opposition fans singing ‘fuck the Pope’ etc.

Agenda for Supporter Consultation Evening 02/5/19Mattyblue replied to J*B's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard Certainly not the case in his first season. I was told repeatedly at Ewood by a sizeable number of people that he would have us ‘playing football the right way’ and how delighted they were that ‘long ball bastard’ had gone. Even early in season 2, I was ridiculed by a load of folk around me for marching - for example the Arsenal home game in which we nabbed a late winner and I had people in my face ‘what about your shit protest now? Get behind the club’ Never forget? I haven’t.

Season Tickets 2019/2020Mattyblue replied to blueboy3333's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard It’s difficult because a lot of the folk who were in the Darwen End were not acquainted with each other so the stand closed and that was that, some went to the Jack Walker, some to the Blackburn End. The club could help with the organisation, just like at dozens of other clubs that now have a designated singing section.

Season Tickets 2019/2020Mattyblue replied to blueboy3333's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard He also said it hasn’t stopped people coming down on the day, so just a rip off of those folk. Our gates hardly vary week to week so it can’t be rocket science to estimate it!

Dinosaur? Anything but, that’s the folk that still see them as ‘little owd Stanley’ knocking about in the Unibond League. They are now a highly professional outfit and are taking support away from us. I personally know about 5 Rovers lads that have decided they are now Accy fans and are Clayton End ‘Ultras’. The free shirt and tickets to every kid in Hyndburn is a superb gesture and I have a lot of respect for how he’s running things. Bit let’s be frank, we have a small, hemmed in catchment area as it is and the last thing we need is an upwardly mobile club on our doorstep one division below.

Season Tickets 2019/2020Mattyblue replied to blueboy3333's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard Find it slightly odd that with a decent season behind us, a price freeze and a good deal for young people that Waggott’s target is only 10,000. We are pretty much at that figure now (including half STs).

“That Stretford and Salford are not administratively one with Manchester is one of the most curious anomalies of England"
-
	Or Salford...

Rishton is part of the Blackburn post town and has a BB1 postcode. It’s as Rovers as they come (though there are a few Dingles knocking about these days), Accrington Stanley territory my arse!

Season Tickets 2019/2020Mattyblue replied to blueboy3333's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard Id like them to have gone even further with the young adults and we desperately need a proper singing section. But at least no increases.

Season Tickets 2019/2020Mattyblue replied to blueboy3333's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard https://www.rovers.co.uk/news/2019/may/our-pride-our-passion-our-rovers/ Prices frozen. Only innovation: New for the 2019-20 season, the club have extended the previous young adult age-band to include all supporters aged 18-25. Not only that, all prices in this category have been REDUCED, with tickets available from only £149 - that’s less than £6.50 per game! These years can be particularly challenging financially and the club want to help as many as possible commit to a Season Ticket and continue the habit of enjoying home games – a habit formed through childhood.

Andy Holt on twitter saying Rovers aren’t ‘respecting boundaries’ as the Community Trust does outreach in Hyndburn. Ossy/Rishton/Great Harwood etc. have been Rovers strongholds since day dot. Just because a 1970s bureaucrat makes up a borough called Hyndburn and puts Accy as its HQ means feck all. The quicker they end up back in non League the better...

We get a bit blase with dysfunctional football clubs as it happens so often. But as someone else has said, this one feels closer than others to a complete collapse...
-
Another Waggott gem last night ‘Away revenue was below what was forecast’ We could’ve told you that in August, ‘negative brfcs’ leads the way again (oh and the Darwen End closure was for nowt then? Or just the excuse you needed...)
-
Season Tickets 2019/2020Mattyblue replied to blueboy3333's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard According to Waggott the season ticket target is 10,000. Which is pretty much where we are now anyway with half season ticket sales. Not much ambition there, so I assume that will be because there’s a hefty price rise incoming and they are happy to just tread water.

Reduced prices for Swansea game.Mattyblue replied to SIMON GARNERS 194's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard It wasn’t that long ago we were at Luton in the cup. Certainly won’t sell out before general sale.
-
Aye, their main striker Adam Rooney left for Salford, I know they are loadsofmoney for non league, but even so...
-
Considering Conference clubs pay bigger wages than even 3rd place Aberdeen tells me he won't be going up there.
-
No chance of Mulgrew going. Signed up till 2021, decent wedge. Where would he go?
-
Reduced prices for Swansea game.Mattyblue replied to SIMON GARNERS 194's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard Do you think it’s worth bothering with 1875, JH? I didn’t bother this season as I knew that as a season ticket holder I’d always get a ticket in this league.
